I posted this in the MitD thread but it's probably more appropriate here:  have a look at the criteria for identifying a shill at the bottom - how closely does that match some of what we've been seeing here?  I'm all for free speech, but if we're dealing with shills, that's a whole separate issue because in that case there's a deliberate intent to disrupt real dialogue:

I also do not believe that Art burned bridges.  People are apt to be very understanding.  The secret is to get him back on the airwaves/internet right away. It would be great to just get a massively large group of fans who could alternate playing bodyguard in 4 hr shifts.  Maybe if they have a license to carry a concealed weapon it would be legal to use it when inside the Bell compound.  They could take this stalker fuck out legally.  But I don't know the laws.

The counter problem I see however is that Art may not be able to continue with MITD in the U.S. for fear of some covert and unexpected attack somewhere down the line, which just blows!...

I believe my first thought upon signing up for bellgab was "what a bunch of assholes" before I proceeded to defend George in the GNS thread. I subsequently figured out that George was not a nice guy and deserved what he was getting, but the point is that it took seeing George acting slimy to turn me. The specific moment being when he interviewed Oates. There is a reason George takes the heat he does.

I haven't seen any of that with Art. All Art's done is get shot at, threatened and then made bad decisions under duress. Still, some people here have either outright trolled because they like to play in shit piles, or they have simply convinced themselves that there is more to the story without any reason to suspect so because deep down they feel like Art screwed them over somehow. Trolling from either of those points of view boil down to a simple desire to fuck with an old man in a really bad situation trying to look out for his family. I find that tasteless, at best.

While there are no angels on Bellgab, the current crop of trolls here are true fucking lowlifes. The worst kind of person this world produces. It's times like this that I hope karma exists and when they're laying in bed dying of dick cancer they wonder "if only I had been a little bit better of a human being this might not have happened".

I didn't even listen to MV's conversation with Art.  Some people on this forum are interesting and smart and sometimes I learn things, so I hang around. 

The Art replacement - to me it requires someone with a broad knowledge, someone who can associate information from different disciplines.  That takes years of a person being engaged in and curious about the world.

What would the point be? SV gave MV the opportunity to ask off message questions but they weren't asked..not one, out of about a dozen.

the following are questions from sredni, all of which were asked either directly, indirectly, or were touched upon by art without being specifically asked.  most of sredni's other questions pertained to heather's inexperience or were predicated on the belief that art's stalker is a fabrication.  i wasn't interested in asking those questions myself because 1) i don't believe he's lying about the disturbances around his home, 2) nothing art would say is going to convince those who've made up their minds, and 3) i don't think heather's inexperience is going to be a subject of great interest to future listeners of the interview (there's more to this than the moment).

i know some of you are sick of hearing it, yet i can't help but return to the fact that there were 30 minutes of open phone lines at the end of the show for anyone to call in and pose the questions i didn't ask.  with over a week of advance notice prior to the airing of this interview, i don't understand why none of you showed up.  even the batshit hoagland stalker got through three times. 

i had no desire to rake art over the coals so others can feel vicariously satisfied through my manufactured aggression and incredulity.

1) How did Art find BellGab? Did he type in 'George Noory sucks' like everyone else?

3) Why did Art change his mind about the direction for the show? It started out with the intention of being a small operation for a small group of fans, before turning into a larger enterprise with affiliates and a large deal in the works. He made a false start before the Sirius show, when he changed his mind saying that he was motivated by the wrong reasons (i.e to humiliate Noory). Wasn't the motivation behind all those affiliates simply to get back at Dave?

7) Is there an ongoing police investigation into the 'stalker', and, if so, what progress have they made?

9) How can Art be sure that staying off the air will keep the stalker off his back? Has he/she communicated with him, and, if so, has he informed the police?

10) If Art's safety is conditional in staying off the air, how can he make occasional appearances without putting his family in jeopardy?

11) If the 'stalker' was caught tomorrow, would he go straight back on the air?

12) How long does Art expect people to listen to a show hosted by someone who claims to be only 'keeping the seat warm'? Isn't there a point when Heather has to make the show her own or let the thing die?

13) What is the thinking behind 'documenting' incidents but not wanting them investigated? If the threat is serious enough to keep him from doing a show he 'loves' why isn't he making every effort to make sure the threat is ended?

14) If he has a good idea who the 'stalker' might be, has he told the police? You don't need to accuse someone, just suggest suspects and motives and let the police look into it for you. If he hasn't done so, then why not?

14) How much time needs to pass without incident before Art can be confident that the threat is not there any more? And will he then decide to go back on the air full-time?

I apologized for some shit I said to Art (mostly in private correspondence if i remember correctly) several years ago because I said some  pretty racist shit. The thing is, I talk racist anyhow even around my friends who come from a diverse background and give it right back-  But Art isnt my friend and what I said wasnt very nice.

i dont remember exactly what I said but that was years ago. I have nothing to apologize for this time around- I dont apologize for the trolling I did (not all my posts are trolling btw and at this point the majority probably arent), for being an asshole or offending anyone except certain posters.
