If Trump is so unqualified, remind me what exactly made Obama qualified to run a country?  Trump is an internationally known billionaire that runs an empire employing 34,000 Americans.  Please enlighten me on who would be better to run the country?

Obama was a community organizer... so seriously, go fuck yourself with that type of thinking.  Clearly the worst thing in the world here is the fact that someone like you can cast a vote.

Lemme guess, you'd rather vote for the one under FBI investigation or the socialist that wouldn't mind taxing us all into fucking oblivion... right?
Jesus you are fucking retarded. Take your meds.

Art,

Did you ever hear from Madman again after his last show appearance?

I saw some programs (NOVA and some others) on TV about this. Researchers are looking in all kinds of strange places in nature for new antibiotics. The drug companies will swoop in when something useful is found. And they are probably financing at least some of these researchers.

The big problem is really the overuse and misuse of antibiotics leading to the drug-resistant bugs. Which means that there are a lot of different people responsible for this race between the researchers and the superbugs. Especially in the Third World.
The problem also lies with our own farmers and ranchers.  We place antibiotics and worming medications right into their food, meaning we do not have to keep their habitats so clean and can run the place with fewer farm workers.  Worms and bacteria are now resistant to these meds.

There was an article recently about someone in Costco purchasing fresh fish, and when cutting into it, found worms.  They notified Costco who told them to cook it to the recommended internal temp (chefs often like the inside of a fish like salmon, pink).  They called the government health org (I think this was in California) and were told that worms were often found in fish, just cook it well.  I once dated a bacteriologist who would not eat any sort of seafood.

Did you see some of his other endorsements?  Lou Ferrigno, Gary Busey, Dennis Rodman?  People from his tv show.

All of them, BTW,  aliens from the MIB movies. Will Trump deport them to their home planets? For consistency, he should.

I like your style. Munbeam

Everything except the last line about organized crime was mine - Munbeam just accidentally deleted half the quote brackets so it looked like all one post.

You should probably relocate to an unpopulated area - when you blow you're going to make a crater at least 2km across, and the fallout will contaminate soil and ground water for hundreds of miles downwind.

Having spent 8 years in SAC working with Nukes I am all in with the guy that wants to call for a fair catch.

One major problem was discovered in a psychology study which showed that the more insecure people feel about the economy and their personal safety, the more they side with people they see as "strong" - the rich and the powerful.  And naturally, the rich and the powerful want to be richer and more powerful, so they cut their own taxes and public support programs and vote for laws that expand their wealth and power...at the cost of everyone else.  So it's a vicious downward spiral, which accelerates the collapse of a civilization.  It looks to me like it'll end in civil war, like it did in France, with a proletariat that's so pissed off that they won't stop until heads are rolling.  But it could go the other way, and the US could finally shake off the last veneer of our founding principles, and just become a new plutocratic/corporate tyranny operating along the lines of the TPP and similar multinational laws created to subvert those pesky national sovereignty issues that obstruct corporate profiteering.

By the way, CEOs score four times higher on psychopathy tests than average people:  http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbercovici/2011/06/14/why-some-psychopaths-make-great-ceos/#41bc7f874fac

So we're a civilization run by psychopaths, which rewards psychopathic behavior with wealth and power, which they use to buy entire networks to sell us their message that greed is good, and human compassion and understanding is for the weak.  They're literally shaping the world into a "psychopath's heaven," which just happens to be a living hell for human beings with a soul/conscience.
This is true.  I see us going the way of that book (1984?) in which we owe allegiance to our employer, not the country, and approach a one world government.  I'm trying to see a positive side to this.  I think it's sad how many nations are so advanced and others are kept ignorant and living the same lives that their ancestors did centuries ago.  Something good should come from this for someone.  Maybe we should present a more common face of humanity to aliens?

Art,

Have you ever seen this website that matches up your views with the candidates stated positions?

https://www.isidewith.com

I come up Cruz/Carson/Trump as my top 3, but I think Trump has the best chance of winning.
Lol. Sorry Grav.  99% Sanders, 98% Clinton.  But, never fear, there are so many better things to do than discuss political differences.

I agree Art, that it is a big mistake assuming that they think like us. I have stayed up all night thinking about this topic after the Jacobs shows. I have my own theories about what is happening, all of it is very disturbing. It is almost time for Heather to come on, I can't wait to hear the guest tonight. I will ask Heather about the previous guest.

I hadn't heard about that, but now that you mention it I'm surprised that I haven't heard him say "bada-boom, bada-bing!" because he articulates everything he says as if that's what he's saying.
This is the odd thing about him.  People say that his private persona is not like his public one.  He's articulate and considerate, etc.  Keith Olbermann said this, as well as others who do not share Trumps political views.  I was often wondering how he'd graduated from such great schools and still talks like a member of the Sopranos.  He once said on his show 'You don't know who I have to do business with'.  I think he was referring to his rough edges.

I remember hearing about cultivated pancreatic cells back in the 90's, then...nothing.  I read an article a couple of years ago about French researchers who had healed damaged rat hearts (to simulate damage from a heart attack) with stem cells - turns out, the pluropotent cells were triggered to become heart muscle cells by the body's own chemical signals, so no programming was even required.  We can even clone the specific adult stem cells of your body so they can effect all kinds of repairs without risk of rejection.  So where is the clinical application?  Stonewalled by Big Pharm and their sock puppets at the FDA, I reckon.

The myth that Trump would be good for the economy because he's currently rich is chilling: the guy has filed for bankruptcy four times since 1991.  The guy's a bellowing, petulant, insipid infant with an ego bigger than his hair - like a louder, dumber, meaner version of GW Bush, but without the cunning malevolent handlers.  And his Wild West style of incendiary hate speech would go over like the Hindenburg in Middle East negotiations.  If we earnestly want to see WWIII erupt in the next four years, Trump is our best shot at getting it.

I wouldn't trust that guy to run a car wash, let alone the most powerful nation on Earth.
Dude! Yes, indeed

I've never worked with nuclear material but I'm with you 100% - instantaneous disintegration is vastly preferable to a slow, agonizing, hopeless march to an inevitable demise.

I think we're insane for messing with fissile materials.  Our species is simply incapable of handling that stuff safely or responsibly.  God only knows how many countless thousands or millions of people have died and are dying from the nuclear test fallout and reactor accidents so far.  And leaving the waste material for subsequent generations to deal with is like giving a "flying FU" to hundreds of future generations.

We should exploit the gargantuan nuclear reactor beneath our feet, and simply heat mine the Earth's mantle.  We're literally standing on top of more energy that we'll ever need.  And exploiting it doesn't dump carcinogens and greenhouse gases into the air earth and water.

Maybe another good reason to eat the wild variety and not the farm-bred? I guess. Don't know what to say about bacteriologists. I can't imagine how they're not all germaphobes.

Maybe if we spent 1/10th the money that we spend on slaughtering brown people, on medical research to support the health of our own citizens, we could see regenerative medicine in the hospitals before our grandchildren march us into hospices.
