We could devote the forum to this guy.

My guess is that he's waiting for the first possible opportunity to come back to the air.

If he does, I will enjoy watching it implode.

Wow.  You are probably too young, but there was Alison Steele, the Nightbird.  God, people would tune in just to hear that voice.  She was phenomenal.

I remember her,- great voice. Sadly she died age 58 on September 27, 1995, of stomach cancer.

Gabcast maybe ?  seems like everyone needs to discuss the issue

Correct. I did remove the post, but not because of Art's message. Actually, his message made me want to leave it up. It was when I started getting "reported post" messages from reasonable people that I decided to remove it.

Who would have thought that Art would adopt the Team Noory tactic of bullying a forum admin under the guise of friendliness ("I'd rather not do this but I totally will if") to get his way? Either way, I like your fire emmvee.

I recommend turning this in to a wood burning forum.
I think that has been banned by the Feds, or at least stoves have been so, and, likely, cutting down trees might get you on a 'list' even if not!

i found this on Candy Jones file was to large to post here
http://www.maebrussell.com/Audio/Candy%20Jones.mp3

I listened to this and, as someone posted about Candy Jones and mind control, it's about a biography on her and her Manchurian Candidate-like experiences working for the CIA. Thank you for finding this. Sometimes you have to go back 40 years to find good radio.

I am a terrible poet, Vogon terrible.  So this question is obviously moot, but:

Which rhymes better with humanityDramedy or Tragicomedy?  I lean toward tragicomedy, I am in the early stages of a misambiguated free-form Vogon poetical rendition of the famous "Oh the humanity" radio broadcast.

This will probably be another one of my aborted projects.  I am thinking of recording it with a wind-chime or konguro'o background "music" and reading it in a syncopated rhythm.

I am taking up the art of poetry as one of my many new years resolutions.

I have already /reported this post for illegal use of semi-colon.

Thank yew for your thyme!

I jumped into the BellGab and Art Bell fan fest only starting in April, 2015...a newbie...I'm still a newbie...but from my experience being a "fan"...I can tell you that now I am retired...BUT...I still like BellGab and what MV started, regardless of its imperfection, it is still more fundamental than it's imperative...

Art should have done what old TV shows are doing.. a short run...build up hype and just do a limited run...much more impact that way...

I now feel free to say, I heard the first two or three MITD shows and never listened again. How's that for a confession?

Interesting.  Ms. Steele had one child.  A daughter.  Named Heather.  There are no Coinshidenshes.

Offered up only as an interesting Coinshidensh.  Not to fuel theories, dumbasses.

Hear what she sounded like

not surprised...Art was solid at interviews..but it was either recycled guests or just..bad guests that we have heard the same info from a billion times and i found myself doing what i did with Noory..cutting off or not tuning in at all

Members page indicates Art Bell was active yesterday at 4:00pm.
He's no doubt checking to see if there are any posts that he can sue MV for.
He needs extra cash to pay for all the security equipment he's installed.

I think he made quite a bit of money back in the day...unless it is all gone now...

Thats more then me. My job keeps me busy at nights so I really did not listen to a couple of open lines. I did call in once and talked to Art about Ian Punnett. When Art was sirus XM I did call a couple of times. Now that Art is "retired" again, I really don't miss the show. I have listen to RCH more then Art's MITD shows. Im just glad that I did not give Art any money for his shows. I fell sorry for the people who put up money to support Art's train wreck. Im not pro or con Heather but I do feel sorry for Heather because she did screwed by Art and did not use lube when he "fucked her in the butt" but quitting. That is all.

Eh
Always the heretic, here I go.
Members have been banned for various reasons in the five years I've been hanging around here, at the owner's discretion. Recent noobjob posters whose only purpose has been to piss on the carpet would have been banned by me if I were the moderator but I'm not.
That said, I abhor the idea of threatened lawsuits (whether veiled or outright) by a public figure over what some idiot posts on your forum MV, regardless of my opinion of whether they oughta be pissing around the place or not.
I got a lot of laughs here at the Gab and even made several new friends and acquaintances. I still consider the GNS thread to be the most awesome thread on the stupidest forum on gawd's digital earf. But the whole thing tastes funny now, like clown meat that's turned.
I wish Art the best and hope he moves on with his life cuz he can't move back. Mostly I'm disappointed that I couldn't have made this post comedic because that's what I came here for and what I tried to contribute. But the dude who played the dude playing another dude is no longer entertained by it and I can't imagine this post not being the dude's last. I'll eventually learn to remember to not check in looking for some yuks but it'll probably take a little time.
Be well amigos and amigas. You never know, we may yet meet in the analogue world for I plan on living in it for some time. The rest of you can suck it!

K_Dubb

Art is known for doing this other places.  Given our new crop of friends, and MV's admirable moderation, it was bound to happen.  If I was accused of what Art was here I'd be furious, too, and lash out with what blind anger I could muster.  There are no heroes or villains.  Just people doing what they do.

Whoever said that few long-distance passions survive contact with the subject was wise.

If he had over 10k time travelers back in september like this other radio host claimed, then  I bet he made alot of money even on this short run now. I bet if anyone came out a loser it would be Keith and not Art.
QuoteI was told in my phone conversation with Art Bell that he had (in Sept) 11,500 subscribers and then proceeded to inform me that Richard Hoagland has (as of Sept) 7000 subscribers, do the math ! these guys are getting rich and while I have no problem with people  getting paid for their time,I do have a problem with people claiming they need money when in fact they do not,I also have a problem with people taking the money and running like Art did. Art planned this all along, his putting Heather in his place. He made his money fools !
