Ok, I have had enough, I posted the reward myself and did not consult with the Sheriff, I don't see why I need to its my money and mostly my problem. While the sheriff's Dept has responded when called they have been painfully slow to post all the reports I have made. They do the best they can I guess.

At this point after reading some of the awful things said about Heather and myself I have had enough, I am not coming back to Bell Gab and after a short time of letting that reward sink in I will disable my FB site as well. There is simply no way to win with people like this and I have had enough to stress and sorrow over this for this lifetime. Carry on.

Looks like I'm too late.

I don't believe a word of his tale.  There were no shots, and no prowler, and no death threats.

I'll just say this as someone who has been very involved with choosing and working with "talent" --actors, actresses, announcers -- from casting through production. I understand that podcasting is different, but in the broadcast world, the actual talent of the performer has to be there from day one. It may mature and get better with experience, but there is no such thing as practicing your way to talent. You've either got it (and you're lucky enough to have someone notice) or you don't. So you can be a novice but you can't be unqualified. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's how it works.
Good thing Heather has "got it."

Welcome to BellGab

Thanks.

I've spent all day reading this thread from before the day Art announced he was hanging it up.  Just now got my account approved.

Funny that my account approval email came just after I'd read Art's "offer" of a reward, but before I got to his post where he announced he's through with the site and he's not coming back.

Do you still believe his story, Ciardelo?

Why wouldn't I? It doesn't really matter though. :::shrug::: Have you got a dog in this hunt?

I've been a fan since 2000.  Shortly after I began listening, he "retired" for like the second or third time.  His replacement was a guy named Mike Siegel who meant well, but was terrible.  Art came back to save the show, stuck around for about a year, and then handed the reins off to George Noory.  I have never forgotten the night that Art reassured the listeners that Noory wasn't another Siegel, because "George gets it."

Then there was the Sirius XM debacle.  That's when I realized Art had some serious psychological/emotional issues.

Now he's just blown up Mental in the Desert.  Same shit, different year.

I pay $4.95 a month for Streamlink and the only reason I do is so can I use Total Recorder to turn the Somewhere in Time broadcasts into mp3 recordings.  So at least I've got something to remember Art by before he went completely nuts.

Ciardelo

Mental in the Desert? really? I'm sure you're a big fan lol.

Used to be.  But no longer.  I was a Time Traveler from before the show started.  I take long walks, and listen to the show then.  I was glad Art was back, but it was clear he no longer had the magic.  With a few exceptions (Graham Hancock, Michio Kaku, and maybe a couple more), his guests were bozos.  And his heart didn't seem to be in it.  But I kept listening.  Then when I came home from work last week and saw that he had once again just thrown the Monopoly board in the air and run out of the room screaming, that was the last straw.  I'm done with the freak.   I don't know what his problem is, but at this point I no longer care.

I'll still keep saving the Somewhere In Time classic shows to listen to, but I'm done with him otherwise.

Ok. So you can leave BellGab, but your account cannot be deleted. You said your piece, nothing left to see here. Go take a walk.

Having a dedicated PR person starting 6 months before the rollout would have helped prevent soooo many stumbles along the way. From my perspective, the whole team was stretched marginally thin and were trying to do jobs that they weren't ready or able to do like a pro. I was amazed (pleasantly) that the show kept building up steam.

I wish Art safety and now, I would prefer if he never came back to MITD. I would prefer that he just did podcast interviews and post them weekly or monthly. Of course, that might piss off the stalker.

I wish Heather the best and hope she makes some changes to the show to make it her own.

I remember this discussion in the beginning...some said Art wanted to keep it "grass roots".... Not so corporate... Oh well...asi es la Vida...

I hate it when ex's just keep calling and posting stuff. Why can't they move on? I sure have.

Let's just say that people who make these judgements well do okay for themselves, and people who make mistakes cause pain all around. It's not an easy thing to do.

eh. Our poor Heather has an uphill climb. No mater what she does, says or doesn't say somebody is going to beef about it. She's already better than most of the "paranormal" people I've listened to so the haters can go suck an egg for all I care.

Actually, I came here to ask Art if he'd be willing to go down to the NCSD and file a report about the death threat he received by telephone.

This is important, as this is the one piece of the story that can be independently confirmed. it's odd that he filed reports about being shot at, and about a prowler, which can't be disproven, but refused to file a report about something that can be objectively confirmed or shown to be false.  He just wanted to "document" that.

I found his story very fishy as soon as I heard it, and the more I thought about it, the less sense it made.  Especially refusing to file a report about the phone threat.

So, no, I didn't just come on here to "break up" with Art.

Great show, but I only caught about 15 minutes of it.
How long does it usually take to get in into the archives. I'd like to listen to the whole broadcast.
Thanks!

It shouldn't be too long. themudking is putting it together now. I will post it here as a one off as MV was interviewed and he owes me big time.

Well, see, Art broke up with BellGab. And if there is or not a report filed is none of your business now is it? You have come here to continue to beef about your man, we get it, it's OK, breakups hurt. But Art has moved on, so should you. Have you ever been to grief counseling?

How is it none of my business if Art files a police report about the death threat he claims to have received?

He thought it was my business that he received the death threat, and posted it on his FB wall and talked about it on the show.
