Maybe it is just a broken pipe or something.

I don't think Art is going to quit if he said he is going to explain later. I take it as he is going to explain on air.

Juan

Probably realized he'd forgotten to begin thawing the turkey.

Why can't Noory have an incident?  Like every night?  Wait.  I guess with Jorch, it's a trainwreck every night.

Yes, but how long ago was that?  There needs to be a pizza roll gang, roughing up Jorch every night, after one of his turkey sandwich runs.

AMEN!!....

Hope all is well at the Bell house and the storms haven't caused too much havoc.

hilarious, that many here didn't know who bailey jay is... Batemen has proven himself a great passive troller with that avatar.

Robert

Well wishes from here too, concerned.

I'm far from the 1st to remark about how personal a medium radio b'casting is.  It's both the blessing & the curse of the performer in the medium.  I mean, Art Bell doesn't know me from Adam, yet the illusion of talking to us as individuals is frequently present.  Being on late at night when there are few distractions magnifies that illusion.  So here I am worrying about him & his family as if we were friends.

I wonder if Art had set up his surveillance to record by now.

I love Art- but man the drama seems to find him...
Yeah.  Lucky for him that he has a sheltered place way out in the desert.  Who knows what would happen to him in a city?  You can certainly say he leads an interesting life.  I hope he now has recordings of activity around his property.

I think this is actually going to be more serious than we suspect. I hate to say that, but I do..
I just have the suspicion after the "we thought there was an intruder on the property" comment made that there was already a watchful eye for things and now perhaps something else has happened.
... I do hope weather. I hope a busted pipe. Hell, I hope he glued his lips again. But I suspect tonight we will find out something a bit more..

ziznak

lol would be funny if Leo Asshat impaled himself on an Art Bell pungee trap!

Uncle Duke

This kinda stuff just screams for the movie, "Being Art Bell".

Well, one thing is that he's a public personality and shares tidbits of his family and his thoughts with us.  Frankly, I think I know more about Art than my neighbour.  I think the real weirdness is on his side, because we've shared a part of his life, but he hardly knows us from Adam.  It must be strange when someone recognizes him, perhaps in a store, and acts so friendly and he's thinking 'Is this a potential stalker'?

You mean it's US who have caused him to retreat into the desert?

IcicleTrepan

Yeah, first thing I thought of when I heard this news is that the guy showed back up with the gun.  Maybe Art shot him this time.

I don't think you could ever accuse Art of under-hyping something. They could have been all out of Oreo cookies at the Bell House and he would probably write something similar. He could have said "sorry, circumstances beyond my control" or whatever, but it's his instinct to always tease people, only for us to find that the cause was all rather banal and commonplace. I certainly hope it isn't anything serious, and his track record would suggest that there is probably little reason for concern.

Don't forget he did this a couple of months ago, and he had people speculating he was going to quit, only for it to be something totally uninteresting - so much so that I even forget what it was now.

Given the "intruder suspicion" Monday and the next night a "serious incident" -- I'm guessing Art shot somebody that was lurking around his property. Just a guess.

If that was the case, I am pretty sure that his broadcasting career would be on hold for a while, as the police investigated the whole thing, and he wouldn't come on the next day to fill us in. Also, I think you might have heard something in the media by now. "Radio show host shoots home invader", or something along those lines.

could be..but we never heard any thing more from that shooting incident leaving that mystery still  maybe less than it was to me

i still would like to know what this ..neighborhood looks like...he has neighbors but also 5 acres or something..is his place fenced in..is that even possible..

I always assumed that firing guns at each other was just how you lot said hello. It's like shaking hands, more or less. If I heard anything like that on my country estate, I'd tell the gamekeeper to hunt the blighter down and give him a good dollop of buckshot in the seat of the pants, but it's all par for the course in your neck of the woods.

Search here for the period ~2 mos. ago when that previous incident occurred.  Someone posted sufficient info to survey via the Google camera car.  There is fence around much of the property.  It is at the end of a dead end but also backs (thru fence) on another street.  Bldgs. are far enough apart & ground level enough that many neighbors could have a good view of intruders.
