I like Bill Birnes. He seems to know his stuff, and he doesn't have a huge ego. So many of these so-called experts really have their head up their ass. Bill seems down to earth.  I'm also digging the cover of their new book. Should be a fun show.

I like Birnes, he is always a good guest.

I do, too nooryisawesome! I would like to add the Joel is a great radio personality who knew and worked with both Long John Nebel and Malachi Martin. He is a storyteller and his stories are perfect for this week.

Reported for a public display of affection.

This should be a great show.

Thanks, Jaz. I'm going to take on the very meanest posters in the live thread tomorrow night and hope for the best. Luckily, there shouldn't be very many, so it will probably be smooth sailing.

Oh rilly???

No doubt he knows his stuff (to a fault, I'd say) but I'm not even sure Nancy would say that he lacked an ego. On the occasions I have heard him, I don't think you could ever say that William Birnes lacked self-belief or a sense of his own importance. I'm not knocking him, but presenting him as some kind of shrinking violet doesn't sound much like the man I've heard.

Shredni, as is usual, speaks the truth. Except about IB.

I haven't heard him much on the radio, but what I've seen on television, he seems like a nice guy. Hasn't been egotistical at all. Perhaps you know more about him then I do. Still, looking forward to the show.

One of these days someone is going to spell my sodding name right. I am beginning to think this is deliberate impudence. Please, I promised my mother.

As for certain female "elements" on here who shall remain nameless. I am just a truth-teller, that's all. I am like Chief Brody telling you that there is a whacking great predator swimming among you, but do you listen? No!

The shows have been excellent since the beginning but I have really enjoyed this week. And Bill Birnes will be awesome. I have listened to him since back in day, and like the way he tells stories. Tomorrow morning at work will now be fun because I have that to look forward to.

Nice job Redcated and Art!

And Nancy you should absolutely gush about your husband. That just shows a solid relationship ;D

Random thought. Maybe Art should consider doing Chris Jericho's podcast? Jericho is a HUUUGGGEEEEE fan and even busted out a a spot on Art impression out of nowhere about a year ago when he was doing an interview on his podcast. Jericho has one of the biggest sports podcasts out there and likes to have an eclectic mix of guests. It would be great to get Art in front of a million potential new listeners in a non-traditional setting for him and I think it would be a great mix. Bryan Alvarez could probably hook it up or Jericho is pretty responsive on Twitter.

This could be an interesting thing, from time to time. Invite some celebrity fans on, maybe for an hour or so? The Joe Rogan interview was great. I think even folks who aren't in to wrestling might dig a segment with Chris Jericho.

i remember hearing or reading (probly here) that Bill Birnes had just recently had eye surgery before UFO Hunters and thats where the "Mirrored Aviator" look came from?  I remember noticing in some episodes he seemed to be blinking a lot and thinking... "whats up w this guy?? he seems sane enough and knows his UFO lore but... is that a nervous tick or what?"

Looking forward to this one

Yes. Eye drops and studio lights = sunglasses, even sometimes inside. The pupil in his left eye is now cat-shaped from surgery. He also has brown eyes instead of blue from the drops.

i just felt kinda bad when I read or possibly even heard him tell the story.  kind of cool background story about his TV "look" back then.

and HI NANCY!!! still not trying hallucinogens or have you been hanging out with aldous?

Hallucinogens are not readily accessible in my social circles, so it's not a matter of choice. I do look outside for any mushrooms that might look purple when squeezed, and of course, hanging out with Aldous is one of my primo life goals.

Meanwhile, I read about other people's adventures. Has ziznak reached any similar life goals?

I'm curious how guests are selected.  If I had to guess it would be that Redacted puts together suggestions for Art to choose from, with Art adding a few of his own, then she works with Art and the guest to set things up?
Ha!  There was obviously a reason for Art not to have interviewed the guy before.

I get the feeling that Asia will forevermore be a great speller.  How do you explain something like what she saw on CNN to a child who is so young and innocent?

I enjoyed Tish as well as the other witch, Anderson.  They both seem very positive in their use of magic.  Even though Paglini was more fun and interesting, I thought at times she was way too vengeful and negative.  It was interesting when Tish said she had a candle for making karma faster, so you might be able to observe it in someone who'd done you wrong.  She seemed to warn that, before using it, make sure your own backyard was clean.
