Amen!  I wonder if Dave's going to try and up his game now.

I seriously doubt that . and thanks for the chuckle. That sow's ear will never be a silk purse ... maybe a "silt" purse.  ;)

Isn't that what paranormal date is for?

KABC has announced Art's return to their station in an official post on their website. You can read the story here:

Congrats, sir. That is truly a win for team Bell and all that want to rescue the night airwaves from mediocrity and tumeric supplement ads. ;)

Sir, yes SIR!

Anything else snookums?   Oops, sorry Paladin.  Got caught up in the moment and forgot my virtual flirting rule. :-[

It's okay, my sweet.  While we are bound by our morals and ethics and by all that is holy and natural in this world, we both know that on a ~different world~, on a different day, at a different time, IN A DIFFERENT BACK SEAT....all would be changed and all would be right in... that... world.

I would like to ask for a little creative license here...

Other than IHateRadio, the largest talk format station in Phoenix is 1480 KPHX, and in Los Angeles, KNX 1070. Both of these stations are CBS owned.

Could Art be working out a deal with CBS radio?  I pick up 1480 here in Tucson very well! Can't wait to find out!

KNX 1070?  'All news, all the time'  That would be a radical departure for their format wouldn't it?  They take great pride in being the only 'all news' station in the Southland.

I hope the FBI gets involved.  Art takes a stand on some issues.  Maybe someone doesn't like that.  It infringes on our freedom of the press if the hacker/shooter has a motive other than personal.  How would a person find a good detective?  I'd imagine that, to entice him to come to Pahrump he'd have to be paid a premium.  If Art has not already done so, I'd teach his wife how to shoot.  If I were in his shoes I'd get fingerprint guns that allowed myself and my wife to shoot them.  This way they could have the guns available around the house without worries about Asia touching them, although she seems like a child who will listen to her parents and not touch them.
Our freedom of the press?   Not sure you could make that case.  Is the merit of your claim that ART had to get up and check his perimeter and thus you were 'denied' your freedoms?
FBI?  For what?  It's a local caper for the local cops.  Unless something Federal comes into play.  Or unless the locals invite them in, but the locals hate the feds, because once they're in, they're in until the feds say otherwise.  Feds play nice on the surface.  But I wouldn't trust them with my kids broken hula hoop.

Jackstar used to pull tricks like that -- changing the thread title-- but he was booted a couple months ago. I was in the midst of trying to figure out how to fix it when your post came in correctly labeled, so I guess its fixed now, somehow.

What are you talking about?

Time for the Saturday post.

Tonight starting at 8PM Central until Midnight Central ( Thats 6 to 10pm Pacific for you guys in Rio Linda ) on http://ksyl.com is: Art Bell: Somewhere in Time. When Art journeys back to August 6, 2001, when ghost investigators Brendan Cook & Barbara McBeath joined Art Bell for a scary show of audio (EVPs) that they recorded from the Other Side.
http://ksyl.com has a live stream listed on their page and they can also be found on Tune-in.
If you are local to NW Louisiana or if the propagation is right, you can hear them on 970AM,
I do not know if the show is in the archive. Jazmunda might have the info on that. However from past info, these may be the "new" classics and may not be in the archive.

For those of you with a bent for nostalgia, from 6pm to 8pm Central, ksyl plays When Radio Was, with old radio shows from the time when "Radio was King!"

Also go to Youtube and "like" all the videos! Help us trend! http://youtube.com/artbell51

Remember "Theres Magic in the Static"

This show is in the archive.

I would throw PBS, NBC, CBS, ABC, in there also (for the news.) Sometimes PBS has good stuff (Frontline etc is excellent) but the news is pretty much government talking points these days, especially that Gwen Ifill who, if she had an integrity, would've recused herself from reporting about Obama and his administration long ago.

Though I don't use Art for news per se, I like that he has his opinions, willing to change them over time as he finds new information etc, and is diverse in his opinions- not just some Party checklist but will stick with ones, even if the political climate changes.
I agree.  Art is a real person, not some plastic robot whose income depends on toting a party line.  Without a free press, how can you have a democracy?  You cannot.  So many articles we read show journalists who are not thinking through all the angles and asking the right people the right questions.

I think the feds have a lot more resources and experience than local cops.  I also think hacking into a web site could put it under their domain.  I am not sure what constitutes grounds for getting them involved.  I know the locals hate the feds, but how many locals are found to be corrupt and taking money from drug gangs, etc, and the Feds have to break in and clean that up?  I don't doubt that they're hated.  It's the feds who cleaned up the NYC cops after 911.  They sent in a lot of their own people, many undercover, and a number of locals were up on trial, more were offered retirement, and a whole lot of new recruits came in.  After 911, due to the spiffied up local cops and the presence of the FBI, drug gangs moved out of the city and into New York suburbs, where local cops who had no training nor experience in dealing with such issues, quickly became corrupted.  Thank God for the FBI.  Yeah, it's dirty - it's a dirty game, what do you expect?

He's a no talent guy.  Either you have it, or you don't.  He doesn't.  Art sometimes makes you feel as though he's right there, in your room, talking to you.  Other times you feel part of a group.  His voice is magnificent and his mind has the ability to think outside of the obvious.  He asks questions that I would require more time to formulate.  Dave has none of this, so he only resorts to gimmicks and making a quick buck.  I think a part of his brain knows that his days are numbered.

The Snorge will hang on until the locks are changed and the checks stop coming.  He has no other options, outside interests, nor anywhere to go or anything to do.

Yes indeed, adding KABC to his station lineup is a big win. That will cover all of the L.A. basin listening audience.

I heard Art mention that he will be adding stations in Phoenix as well as Seattle. Two mega markets.

One station that would be a crown jewel to acquire is KKOB in Albuquerque.  It no longer broadcasts Coast to Coast AM, which has been moved to an obscured less powerful station.  KKOB's signal is 50,000 watts broadcasting from a mountain with an elevation of around 10,500 feet. Its signal is what radio people call a "blow torch", meaning you can pick its signal in a larger area than normal radio stations.

why would Dave quit when he is getting paid 6 figures to suck...lol guys around here are a trip..some how the guy with the crappier show is a threat to all of you guys who enjoy Art so much..just listen to Art and stop worrying what the other show is doing

Morgus

KABC's posted schedule for Midnight in the Desert starting next week appears to be one hour delayed, listed as 10pm-1AM PT.
So listeners couldn't listen and engage in calling in real time unfortunately.
KABC probably wants the show to start at the same time as Noory's c2c to compete directly with him at the start of the show?

KABC is a big win.  The Russian Scorpion Army is at the gates, Dave.  Enjoy your last days in the bunker, somewhere deep below the Earth.

He already has his escape plan and it is to the second conference room at the whatever-hotel, called in the commercial "former Red Lion, right off the interstate, exit 23" for the Consciousness/UFO/Survival Expo. And likely some 900#, or whatever is the internet/skype equivalent soon.

The only thing I would comment on here is that of experience.  ON the local level?  Obviously not.  In dealing with situations like this?  I dunno.  Maybe.  Probably?  It all depends, I think, if there is basis for their interest.
As for the rest of your comment, I would generally agree with it.  Locals do hate feds, feds love to be hated.
