My dryer lint vent needs to be cleaned every year, so I asked my son to send over one of the service guys to take care of it.
Nice looking and polite young man, but he used the F word in casual conversation, to describe that the vent tube had to many elblows and that's why it gets clogged. I called my son to report the vent problem and mentioned the swear word. He said that he had been warned before about it, and would fire him. I felt terrible and wish I wouldn't have said anything. Found out later that the fired worker's wife just had their second child. I felt really bad and told my son to give him another chance. He said they wouldn't rehire him, because he also recently violated the company policy of no visible tatoos.

Thank you Desert Fox and Pyewacket.  I am aware of Art's comment back then.  I am asking HIM about now.  If he has spent the last 2 years listening to some of the people he will want to interview he would see they occasionally cuss.  I'm not even saying that Art has to but I think having a "no cussing" rule is, I don't know what it is, and don't want to use the wrong words.  I'm for cussing.

I posted a link to a 2014 Joe Rogan/Graham Hancock show a few pages or so ago.  Sometimes a cuss word is the only word appropriate for the right expression.  I guess I should have clarified that I don't want to hear Art saying motherfucker, but if he said shit I would not stop listening as I thought I read soeone hear would < don't quote me, but come on, shit, ass, hell, bitch, bastard!!!  These words are culturally a part of our language.  The guest should be able to be themselves.  That's all I'm saying about it.  I just wanted to respond to more responses than I ever thought there'd be.

Quick note to Pyewacket... I'm sorry for assuming you were male.  I saw that someone called you Maureen 🙀  And again I'm sorry for whatever you might have gone through and hope you're doing a little better💌

I am not Maureen. Not that I mind being mistaken for her, she is a lovely member of our group and I like her. I am female and I was extending well wishes to Maureen. Thank you for your kind consideration just the same. 

I can't say that I totally agree with your views on language in the media. In private, people can speak as they please, but there needs to be some consideration given to public discourse. I'm not a total stiff about language if it's used in the proper context and tone. Many people would turn the show off if it degrades into coarse language that detracts from the subject matter.

Pam, I'm assuming you're from a much younger demographic group. Your view on language will differ from mine. I admire people who can use language well.

That aside, I'm a fan of Mr. Bell because he's skilled in the art of conversation. What's wrong with keeping language civil anyway?
