You mean you don't want people on your staff disguised as callers calling in, and constantly reminding you of how great you are like Dave's do... or callers like Annie?!?

/or this one which was posted in the GNS thread.

Of course I never heard this before because I can't listen to Dave, but I feel this way:

1.  Why would you ever tell this story (fake caller) to the whole world.

2.  Why would you tell a true story, ESP. like that one (made up) to the suckiest person on radio and what a stupid fucking caller to CALL that story (fake) an "embarrassing" one.  It's a sick one for sure but embarrassing?  please

3.  This is a Jerry Springer story for daughters who, and I quote, "take men away from my mother and fuck them and have their babies only to find out I fucked my daddy in the end and I want mothers to know DON'T do that..."  No matter what, it's not info for "the embassing" line with Noory the imbecile.

4.  It sounds just like Bateman.

Sorry didn't read all the stuff posted after if Bateman was outed.  btw, great job Bateman!💋

Art is a broadcaster's broadcaster (in the vein of Morrow) and has always been the exemplary professional for his chosen milieu.

Unlike Joe Rogan (and Dave, of course), Art can think on his feet and need not unnecessarily resort to vulgarity
No offense at all, but anyone from this wonderful site who says that is bi polar.  You called Rogan vulgar?   ?   ?  Vulgarly intelligent maybe.  You called it vulgarity?  So hearing Graham Hancock say, "fucking shit something, something" means he's vulgar?  Are you fucking kidding me?  Cussing is vulgar? < from someone posting on bellgab?  LMfuckingassO.

No. what I was saying is that Art Bell has stated that he has no interest in having that particular form of expression be a part of his program and he frankly doesn't need to resort to the easy "trick" of vulgarity to make his point. Joe Rogan swears because he doesn't know how not to. And yes, by definition, "cussing" is "vulgarity". Personally, I don't give two fucking shits in a donkey's asshole.

and your bi-polar comment hurt me in a very painful and personal way

I'm sick and tired of hearing cussing everywhere.  I've been guilty of it but frankly I don't want to hear it all of the time.  Plus, there should be some shows that I should be able to listen with my kids. Sure they know all of the words but I would like to give the impression that civilized ladies and gents don't talk that way.
As someone else said, Art's show has never suffered from not allowing cussing.  Listen to Stern if that's what you want to hear.
No disrespect but, kids are the biggest user of "foul language."  We're you not a kid?  I don't know how old your kids are but WHY would you bore them with talk radio.  Kids don't want to hear that.  Depending on their ages, I promise you, your kids are cussing.  You just don't know about it.  Are you the kind of parent that controls their music as well?  Good luck.  This is the centuary of cussing and it is a way of life.

I would hate to see Art go down that road. He didn't allow expletives before- why should he now? I don't think it makes him any less interesting or entertaining. It's the content and style of Art's shows that make me want to hear more. Extreme language has been overused to the point that it has lost whatever power it was supposed to project in the dialogue. I start laughing at the inappropriate and predictable use of it. George Carlin was a master at this type of comedy- it's not for everyone.

Art will do things in his own way. He doesn't need to bow to social pressure. He never would have created his show if he did. I'd describe him as a class act. How many people can do a commercial wearing a tin foil hat and still be cool?  ;)

Thank you Desert Fox and Pyewacket.  I am aware of Art's comment back then.  I am asking HIM about now.  If he has spent the last 2 years listening to some of the people he will want to interview he would see they occasionally cuss.  I'm not even saying that Art has to but I think having a "no cussing" rule is, I don't know what it is, and don't want to use the wrong words.  I'm for cussing.

At work, I swear occasionally around "the guys."  When I am in a meeting, dealing with a supplier, talking with management or discussing something with an engineer or client I manage to hold my tongue.  Why should people show any less respect to Art and his audience than they would a person they casually met on the street?

Besides, who wants to hear Hoagland discussing this "fucking kick-ass photo that those motherfucking assholes at NASA are suppressing?"

If you want to curse, call into that idiot Rogan or Howard Stern... There are alternatives if you feel it too oppressive to avoid using fucking shitty strong language for the two minutes that you have when you call in.
I would love to hear this.

So, it's decided then. Art should scrap his established, working business model and re-tool his show style to the lowest common denominator. Fuck yeah!

sounds like a shittingly fuck-tasic plan! activate it!

Well I doubt Art will change--he was really firm about it...you can always ask but in the end lets let the master run his show how he sees fit.  Anyone who calls will just have to deal with it--the vast majority shouldn't have a problem with avoiding a few choice words.

I love Art's laugh at the end of this clip.  I'm not sure what he's saying just before he laughs.  Something like, "I should have said...hahhaha"

Agreed 100%🐱
I posted a link to a 2014 Joe Rogan/Graham Hancock show a few pages or so ago.  Sometimes a cuss word is the only word appropriate for the right expression.  I guess I should have clarified that I don't want to hear Art saying motherfucker, but if he said shit I would not stop listening as I thought I read soeone hear would < don't quote me, but come on, shit, ass, hell, bitch, bastard!!!  These words are culturally a part of our language.  The guest should be able to be themselves.  That's all I'm saying about it.  I just wanted to respond to more responses than I ever thought there'd be.

Quick note to Pyewacket... I'm sorry for assuming you were male.  I saw that someone called you Maureen 🙀  And again I'm sorry for whatever you might have gone through and hope you're doing a little better💌

Geez Bristol.  Why are you trippin' and acting so strangely with the crossed out text and all?  Don't you care that you're annoying people and that some are blocking you.  If you don't care then why even fucking post here.  If you keep up the jerk offish demeanor I'm never quoting or speaking to you again.

It really is getting dangerously close to trolling.

What do my fellow bell gabbers think of true crime stories as a topic for Art's show?  I like true crime stuff, but I'm not sure if it fits with Art's style.  I don't remember Art doing that type of show before.
I believe with ART leading a discussion, anything is on the table.  some shows will be genius, some will be gold and some...not so much.  Not so much?  Yeah, but definitely listenable.

wow, that crossed out text is sooooooo shocking. and frankly no, I'm not bothered by the knee-jerk reactions of others. their loss. I'm simply making comments like anyone else... you don't like the way that I type?? seriously?? that's laughably small-minded! pfffft! you want to jump my shit for that? as far as being "jerk offish"? to (mis)quote a man I respect very much "I won't strike... but I will strike back". Just let me post my thoughts... if you don't like my typing style? don't read it.

and for an apparently free-thinking independent spirit, you sure seem to think that I should bow to something as juvenile and lame as peer pressure

I disagree with this statement.  There is always an alternative way to say something.  A well thought out intelligent response wins out over swear words every time.

My dryer lint vent needs to be cleaned every year, so I asked my son to send over one of the service guys to take care of it.
Nice looking and polite young man, but he used the F word in casual conversation, to describe that the vent tube had to many elblows and that's why it gets clogged. I called my son to report the vent elbow problem and mentioned the service guy used a swear word. He said that he had been warned before about it, and would fire him. I felt terrible and wish I wouldn't have said anything. Found out later that the fired worker's wife just had their second child. I felt really bad and told my son to give him another chance. He said they wouldn't rehire him, because he also recently violated the company policy of no visible tatoos.
