There is truly something wrong with an country that one the one hand not pass anything to even keep Homeland security funded, or for that matter can not agree on anything at all but can somehow agree on a new damn date every Year to change the GD clocks.

Art

Yeah Art, The  way they are handling the business of our country is criminal. Do they really think that those intending to do harm to us and our country will wait until the budget is worked out.

They never fail to pass the budget amendments that are tied to their incredible  salaries and salary increases:

Salaries and Benefits of US Congress Members

Rank-and-File Members:
The current salary (2015) for rank-and-file members of the

House and Senate is $174,000 per year.                  +2.3% = $4002.00       = $178,002.00

Members are free to turn down pay increase and some choose to do so.

Congress: Leadership Members' Salary (2015)
Leaders of the House and Senate are paid a higher salary than rank-and-file members.
                                                                                       + 2.3%                        =
Senate Leadership
Majority Party Leader - $193,400                             $4,448.20                 $197,848.20
Minority Party Leader - $193,400                              $4448.20                 $197,848.20

House Leadership
Speaker of the House - $223,500                             $5,140.50                   $228,640.50
Majority Leader - $193,400                                       $4,448.20                   $197,843.20
Minority Leader - $193,400                                       $4,448.20                   $197,843.20

A cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA)s  increase takes effect annually unless Congress votes to not accept it.

The COLAs are historically around 2.3%. So when COLAs are added to the current salaries the they are receiving. They are being compensated with thousands of dollars of the American people's revenue. They are arguing over what else can they spend it on ,(some place else), or what countries can they give it to. Imagine what billions of dollars would do here in the US. It could help to cleanup the streets and neighborhoods. It could help to  give medicines and health checkups desperately needed in hundreds if not thousand of people right here in the US. Those billions could be help to build more houses and shelters for those who find themselves in desperate circumstances as well as for those who are terminal peolple who live on the streets across this great nation!

I noticed that Dave logged in here just two minutes after his show last night but did not post, I am thinking he took a fast look around and backed away slowly. What a loss.

Your time changes are killing me too. Last week the GabCast started at 12pm for me. Because you are going onto daylight time next week the GabCast will start at 11am and then at the start of April when I come off daylight time the GabCast will start at 10am.

Death to Time!

Your position on The GabCast has been outsourced to China. PM me for details.

Doesn't matter to me, I'm in a timezone that doesn't allow for me to listen to the live show most nights.  I'll be listening to the podcast the next day unfortunately, but very glad I will have that option.  I imagine most people will be happy with that time slot however.

I have a question in return though.  What are you planning to do for the weekends?  Will you be running repeats or will you just not be on-air?

Thanks Art!

I also love the fact that as our juggernaut plows across the various media, The Show preempts Dave and his Bravo Sierra every friggin night.  That has got to have Dave and the screw at Boast2Bitcham in a perpetual code blue.

Instead of changing the clocks, why don't they just do what they really mean and shift all jobs, TV and radio schedules, and other "real" world daily events to begin an hour earlier or later in Spring and Fall.  I suppose that would be too much trouble?

not observing DST: Arizona, Hawaii, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

During the 1973 oil embargo by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), in an effort to conserve fuel Congress enacted a trial period of year-round DST (P.L. 93-182), beginning January 6, 1974, and ending April 27, 1975. The trial was hotly debated. Those in favor pointed to increased daylight hours in the winter evening:

Is this a test for those of us who didn't receive the PM?  Since you're doing all the work, you should choose the time slot that puts you at maximum power. But 9 p.m. to midnight works great for me in California, which shares the same PST as Nevada. And since it's called Midnight in the Desert, you'll be ending it at midnight. Very nice!
