The answer to me is quite clear Art.  Both a man of science and a man of faith have their own kind of bias that would taint their observations.  It would have to be a man with a keen eye for observation and a completely open mind,  a man a lot like you Art.  However, one thing that I would like to point out is that it would NOT take a silly or infinite amount of power to rip apart the fabric of space and time like modern physicist propose....adept shamans of my Toltec lineage have accomplished this feat by using small amounts of personal power to separate and push aside the fibers of the Chronosphere in an almost surgical manner allowing them to weave and slip through the surface or buffering zone of time.  I have witnessed this first hand.

On a subject unrelated to this post, I just saw your post about your back issues on your  FB page and I could not comment on it because I am  not on your friends list there, so I hope you do not mind if I offer a suggestion here.  I am a private researcher for the professional division of the Monroe Institute and my research is centered around the use of the Hemi-sync technology merged with my Toltec shamanic training and techniques for healing and pain control.  There may be a way to help alleviate a lot of your pain and I would be happy to help in any way I can.

Couldn't we all take a page from Art's mind experiments to make rain in Texas and all think at once that the pain in Art's back is to stop ?
Forever.

All jokes aside, I wish I knew if these worked.

A friend of mine uses this for a chronic back problem, he swears by it. He also uses a portable TENZ device for his back, which you can get for under $100.

I think Ehrman is an atheist, yes?

I thought he said agnostic, b_dubb, but then again it's been awhile since I heard him on Ian's show. Pretty interesting guy and an excellent scholar. I'd still c hoose him to go back in time to meet Jesus.

Art, whether you use hypnosis or not...have you considered obtaining a personal massuese? Sometimes this stuff does get expensive hopefully your doctor will provide you with a prescription allowing you to use Cannabis indica to relieve the tension in your back - at the very least. All of these things are available medically. I'm sure that you have your private healthcare insurance, coupled with the medicaid you should also have by now. I do hope you don't have a physician that is reluctant to help or approve your use of alternative medicine practitioners. (if necessary) :'(

A few things:

1. How did U7 stay on as long as it did? The freeArtStream got taken down pretty quickly.
2. They don't say anything about Dreamland..... Just Sayin.

Folks have back pain for varying reasons.  Here's what has helped mine.  Keeping my weight at the right level, using strength training with work out machines to keep ab and chest muscles strong, the occasional use of capsaicin solution applied to the location in question.

What about all the other channels on tunein that stream old shows 24/7? I wonder if they also got cease and desist notices.

Didn't Art fall of the deck too, or something like that?

Didn't George fall off the wagon?

Must see; Falkie's latest Youtube video. You won't regret it, great 20 minutes!
Starts with a shot across the bow and ends with a broadside of cannons leaving Daves' and PremRats' guts hanging from riggings.

Emma S and the U7 radio, bravo! Keep up the good fight! I love the stream. It would be a shame if the behemoth shuts you down but, hopefully, any content not already found in the 'ultimate' will be accidentally released to the torrent world. They might have mist tunnels, they might be determined to kill radio, they might have a room-full of paralegals to write letters- but they can't control the internet or kill the good radio shows of the past.

I love unscreened open lines, sooo many good shows came from them, some of the best moments on Coast came from them. I think my first show in July will be all open lines.

Art

Yay! Those were always some of my favorite shows. Never knowing who would be calling in. The crazier the better, IMO! So looking forward to July!

I'm begging for an antichrist line, but I also enjoyed the open line calls on diverse topics such as the lines for the ladies room or naturally, ghost stories. You never know what you're going to get, but for me, the antichrist line was the pinnacle.
+1

Open lines will be fun but I feel like on the first show back it has a danger of turning into a barrage of welcome back Art calls, which isn't all that entertaining after a while. On the Sirius/XM show it also felt like this place, as much as I enjoy it, had way too much of a presence. I'd rather not hear "Mega 51s from Bellgab!" again, but maybe that's just me.

Whether I feel back pain coming on, or if there is a sudden event to cause it I take a couple of Aleve's and ice it.  The ice reduces swelling at the sore spot

I have a flat plastic ice sheet with squares filled with liquid that I keep in the freezer.  Put down a towel, then the ice pack, then lay on it wearing a t-shirt for 10-12 minutes.  Repeat every few hours, as needed.  It's really cold at first but you get used to it.  Even better is to alternate doing that and taking a hot shower.

The new Coast logo on the webpage reads like "Coast to AM Coast." Maybe it'll look better when I remote view it.  ::)

My uncle was having severe lower back pain and it turned out he was missing cartilage between two vertebrae. It's since been mostly relieved thanks to surgery. But he is 20 years younger than Art and was really suffering... Back pain is no laughing matter. I can only imagine what Art goes through.  :-\

Just so you guys know, as if you didn't by now, I do have a awful back. I did burn a pole. When you do that for a living it's like this your up on a pole and if it's not in great shape you can cut out. At the instant that happens you have two choices, hug the pole on the way down picking up splinters of wood as you go or push off which is what I did and hit the ground on my ass and elbow. L4andL5 are compacted and now that I am older full of old guy stuff. So yes I have a really bad back, at worst can't move, at best can't stand long periods or walk as far as I would like without stopping for a rest. All backs are like little snowflakes so please do not tell me what you, your friend or somebody did to feel better, I have tried it all. Doc says no Surgery for me, live with it.

Art

Art, I fell down a flight of marble stairs when I was 20 ( after my landlord had just hoed them down) on my back and have had back pain ever since. I know what you're going through and feel for you. My late Mother had crushed 3 of her disks lifting a patient and when she had the surgery for it, her heart stopped and despite do not rescusitate orders, they revived her anyway and she spent the next 19 years in agony from it.

Danger!UFO

Back surgery itself can knock you on your ass not to mention the possible complications that this kind of surgery can bring.

Keep doing what you are doing, Mr. Bell. One day at a time. Good days and bad days and all that.  :)

Art

I know how you feel Art, my girlfriend has a missing bone in her spine and lots of people are always trying to help by offering her all of these suggestions.  Everything from more exercise to acupuncture and vitamins.  Some people think it's a joke and one person actually was going to push down on her shoulders as a joke.  Luckily someone stopped them before it happened.

It's nice that people want to help, but at the same time when you're in that much pain you've already tried everything you can think of and nothing works.  In her case, people don't seem to realize nothing can fix a missing bone and nerve damage.  Sometimes very risky (the risk of paralysis and/or death) can be performed but in a lot of cases the doctors would rather you wait until you'd rather blow your own brains out in pain before they'll risk paralyzing you.

I'm sure you've tried everything you can think of already to relieve the intense pain when it happens.  You've likely seen countless doctors and specialists.  I don't think a lot of people understand the difference between having standard back pain and your back completely locking up on you in intense shooting pains up and down your legs as a lot of people seem to think back pain is something you can simply grin and bear with a bit of ice or bengay.  When those nerves in your back light up like a christmas tree and nothing helps, your legs get weak and you question your ability to stand unassisted, when it can take an hour just to get into a sitting position in bed as you try to get to the bathroom in time.  I'm glad I've never experienced it myself.

Once you get into a chronic pain situation, it gets very clear very quickly that homeopathic remedies are not going to help you.
