Just wondering if the number you have would vary if the number of shows per month were to change?

Would 10 shows per month rather than 20 cut the cost down significantly? Closer to $10 a month sounded like something more feasible for fans to pay.

10 shows a month would indeed bring it down to around $10. Basing this on 9.1 cents per song, per download x 12 songs per show.

Nightly GabCasts so the soap opera that is Art Bell's career can be adequately documented

The Iranian Hostage Crisis gave us "Nightline". Art's bumper music quagmire could be what makes the Gabcast a nightly standard.

Keith Rowland is an amateur who is not up to dealing with these kinds of bumps in the road.  Art needs help from a **professional** producer.

Why can't he just do the show from KNYE and put enough ads in to pay for a minimum of bumper music?  I wouldn't mind if there were some ads; just not as much ads as on Coast to Coast AM.

Faustina

I would gladly pay $10 or more a month to hear Art 2-5 nights a week.  Maybe he does need to charge.

I think if he did this the music wouldn't be an issue. He would be covered by the station's music agreement.
Then whatever he did online would be all good, as long as he didn't sell the shows with music included.

I like this idea a lot.

Either Art will or he won't. I am not going to wring my hands. Nice if he does, if he doesn't... same as it ever was.

"I want to thank all of you who are talking about new Artists but that is not the way I want to go, I really am Married to the music I have collected with love all these Years. It is a big part of it for me and if you were one of my listeners when I was on air you know that."

AB: "Just for the record, I am not quitting, I am just not starting till we can resolve this in some way. I do not want or need anybody’s money. If we can find a way around this we will proceed. I was just trying to keep everybody up to date with the fact that we seemed to hit a brick wall. We are working on it."

Oh Art...  keep the roller coster, roll'in... were lov'in the ride!

I heard it all, who took the fall, there's a strange smell in the air. It's the devil you know or the devil you don't, it's a threat you must beware...

Crystal would say yes I'm sure, but I highly doubt she owns her own songs. The publisher would have to say yes too.

Art! Tell Crystal to tell Gnoory to stop using her!

To repeat what everyone has said:  DO IT ON KNYE RADIO.

Fans can tune into it on the existing KNYE stream using an app like TuneIn Radio, the same way I listen to streaming Noory with bumper music every night on the hundreds of radio stations that air C2C.  You think those stations are paying an extra WEB STREAM FEE to stream licensed bumper music?  I seriously doubt that!  My town's super-tiny station plays C2C every night with bumper music, and I listen to it on the TuneIn app stream.

Abandon Keith Rowland's DMRN stream.  He goes back to being a webmaster, and he gives up being Art Bell's streammaster.

Problem solved?

Let's see, I pay like $350 a month for family cell phones, $250.00 Cable TV/internet/fax-land line, another $50 or so for netflix, amazon, downloads.
That's like $650 a month...  I'd pay a lot for Art.

Anyone know what Glenn Beck charges a month?

Can anyone find fault with this?  Seems so simple.  And even allows for future expansion when the show's such a success that other stations want to pick it up.

Can anyone find fault with this?...
How does Art make money from this?

Fuck.

I'm pretty much done with arts comeback attempt unless he goes to a mainstream radio network, the plans are doomed.

I've been a staunch proponent of Art but this is just sad/depressing now.

One's gotta wonder how Art could afford to pay all those fees when he was playing all that bumper music years ago. ??

I've emailed the knye owner. She loves art and said anytime he wants to grab the mic he can do it at knye. But she said art wants to stay retired, which is probably the truth.

AM Broadcast is entirely different.

The exact same way he would've otherwise, right?  Selling ad space and selling (music-free) subscriptions.  The exact same way C2C makes money.

The only difference is that we're tuning into KNYE's radio station stream instead of Keith's DMRN web stream.

And fans can pirate the show galore either way, spreading the word that subscriptions and ad space are available.

A fax line?

Still use them in the Business for documents that must be signed..  But not to much anymore, because most have scanners now.
But some Law firms still only accept signed Faxes.

Agreed, and it's like going back to his roots doing the show locally again.  Everyone has a smartphone and the TuneIn app is the nuts, I use it everyday.  It's like the best of the past mixed with the tech of today.

C2C paid all those fees.
Art had a contract with them as an entertainer/boardcaster

phrodo

Seems to me like bands/artists should be glad or even pay to have their music played by Art. That is valuable advertising for their music.
