This afternoon at worked checked into Bellfab (sic) and thought, strange nothing happen'in on Art's thread, so I'll go and entertain myself on Falkie's thread. Made a nonsense post and drove home. At home set the DVR and wife called that dinner was ready. Had a few minutes waiting for her to serve dinner so checked Bellgabs home page to see if any action on Falkie's thread.
What the Heck... Bellgag (sic) whole home page was full of new Art posts. So of course read them all during dinner, bad manners to so, but wife is into Art too so she didn't mine.
Thank You Art, for making this a very enjoyable evening for my family. Great discussions with kids and my Mother called too about your latest update. Keep the drama coming, we're loving it... Reading  the reactions of Art's somewhat fickled fans!  God Bless you all, we love Bellgab and Bellblab'ers (sic)

Art would be better served it seems, by getting a few pros to advise him, instead of having a bunch of neophytes spew uninformed facts & opinions. I mistakenly thought Art being in radio all of his life would have a better handle on how to put together a show.

If he can afford $20,000.00 on a studio. Maybe think about paying pros around a grand or less, to look at an outline of the show Art wants, and see if feasible. Before publicly promoting what seems to be a pipe dream, at this point. Or he can take more advice from the likes of successful Mr. Fidget, and myself.

P.S. Liked your appearance on the GabCast, Feb.10. You weren't talking a mile a minute, and were conversing with the host. The most informative you have ever been, again good call. Keep it up, and don't let the man get you down.

This will work out. I remember a week or two ago, people seemed pessimistic about the show and then poof, he said he was doing it.

I think there will be other options out there. KNYE might be one. Maybe 5 minutes of ads in the podcast to pay for the music?

That first message from him overly stated the issue, and made it sound as if the problem was insurmountable (which is not the case).  It's a problem that can be dealt with with some work.  Ask indie bands to submit their music to use on his show for free, offering them the exposure.  This would have to be unsigned bands.  The hard work part would be listening to all that new music and deciding which songs to use.  Maybe Art doesn't want to have to do all that work at his advanced age.  If so, he should hire an assistant to do it for him.  Heck, I'd do it for him for free, and I know Art's taste in music and what he'd be inclined to go for, saving him hundreds of hours by personally vetting the music and only presenting to him what I thought he would like.  Art, if you read this, send me a PM if you wish to take me up on my offer.

This CAN be worked out!!!  All it will take is some work and some compromising.  Art may not be able to afford the established acts anymore like Abba and the Moody Blues.  Plenty of good indie music out there, un-signed, that would LOVE the exposure of being played on Art's show.

I could live with no music in the Podcast for download BUT I at least want it for the stream. Even that seems to be a nightmare, as we look into it. Does anybody know a Talk Host doing a stream who is using bumpers legally?
Radio stations are covered by a blanket agreement, I know because I paid it for KNYE when I owned it. It is not even clear who you must pay to use music in a stream, the record keeping is also a nightmare. Those who say just put it on a station and your covered are wrong.
Anyway we continue to try and figure it out.

Just wondering if the number you have would vary if the number of shows per month were to change?

Would 10 shows per month rather than 20 cut the cost down significantly? Closer to $10 a month sounded like something more feasible for fans to pay.

I used to listen to C2C on the CKTB stream. They play music from the C2C show. How do they get away with this?
