That said I don't blame Art for changing his mind.
Nearly a decade ago when Art's friends started complaining on the ham bands about how bad Dave sucked, Art himself said that he had never listened to C2C since his retirement.   He sounded a little sad and concerned about what he was being told.

I remember Art saying "George Gets It" and it was a straight compliment.  It was like a thumbs up for the takeover.  And it was after George had been on Coast for some time.
But Art sort of explains that by saying that he was asked by the network to say something nice about George.  I recall my mother spontaneously being asked to say a few words at a funeral (she was completely unprepared.)  The woman was a bitch and she told me as she walked to the front that she was trying to think of what to say... she could not say that she was a good woman, a kind woman, a gentle woman or that she will be missed.  In the end, she told a few stories about get togethers and let it stand and that.  At a wedding once, I had to propose a toast.  I said something along the lines of "to the couple; may we all learn from their relationship."  It was a bit longer, but was meant to be read as a warning rather than what the words said.

The point is that when called upon to say something we are sometimes stuck saying a few short words that sound like praise...

From Art's facebook-
"I guess it is about time to straighten a few things out. I had no input or voice into the choice of George Noory as Host...none. He recently, after Dark Matter was announced dropped my name from mention then he says put it back because it was the right thing to do, nonsense, he did it so he could stop open line callers.

I am 99% positive that the only place George said that about putting arts name back in was here at coastgab. Unless he mentioned it on air.

If so either Art has been following the nonsense Gnoory has been posting here or some one sent him a recap.

If art is here reading, I just want to say hi! Can't wait for you to kick butt.

Hahaha.... yes, yes.  After the disaster with Dave, I would like to propose a toast of "to Dave Noorie, may we all learn from this relationship."   :D

Yes, I get that and buy that...but the one point Art seems off on is him saying he only knew George as that "paranormal guy" from St. Louis.

When Art said "George gets it"--it was after years of George being a Coast host.

Noory didnt suck as bad as he does after moving the show from St.Lous to rub elbows with the radio executives in L.A.

Beautifully worded.

As I've said before, it's a simple equation: the music says it all.

SnoreMan = UFO Phil   ::)   :D

Art Bell = Crystal Gail "Midnight in the Desert"   ;D   8)

Rest my case.

Latest from Art on Facebook:

"I have no vengeful feelings at all for George, he is simply what he is. I do feel sad at what the show has become. I do have a lot of issues with Premiere that are in the category of anger but not revenge. I am doing Dark Matter because all is well in my life and I love Radio, it's all I know, hope I can still do it!"

George Noory sucks!!!

I think its funny Premier is running a david john oates show on SIT with Art Bell.
This after Art sued Oates for having false claims about him on his radio show.

Upping the antie after Bell says Noory is essentially a complacent lazy host.

bateman

Ten years Noory has squatted in The House That Art Built. On September 16, Art takes the keys back.

Agreed.  Of everything Dave's done regarding Art, this is the most reprehensible.   Maybe Art will drop the pretense of "but he's probably a nice guy" after this despicable and obvious insult.

Meanandnasty

It's easy to be number one when there is no competition.

Numbers of posters are falling off the on Coast Facebook, or maybe they are removing all of the non-supportive comments.

Haha, what a diplomatic way to phrase it.

Also, it's Noorie.  Dave Noorie.  Dave hates it when "Thuh Haterz" can't even get his name right.

I love Art being honest!  But one thing confuses me--when Art said "George gets it"...didn't he know more about George's performance other than he was on a paranormal show in St. Louis?

Wasn't at the time Art said that--George had been a back-up host for Coast for a good while?  I was under the impression at that time Art was giving a thumbs up to what George had done at Coast up to that time.

When Dave first started filling in for Art - he wasn't toooo terribly sucky. Seemed he tried to even mimic Art's delivery too ... at times my ex-wife and I noted that he sounded a LOT like Art. But then after the changeover -- he progressively just got worse and worse until he's rotted into the blithering lump of sewage he is now.

Hahaha... nothing like "damning with faint phrase" or, in this case "damning with fill in the blank with the obvious."  ;D

Check through the thread. MV pretty much authenticated the source.

Remarking that Art has no class is well, just low class.

Repost because it's important to note.

Art Bell has been a coastgab member for quite sometime.
He posted here a few times months ago too, so he could easily be reading the threads recently.

David John oates Thursday night on coast.

Sorry art your wrong! Noory is an asshole!! Also noory never fucking got it.

I remember Art saying "George Gets It" and it was a straight compliment.  It was like a thumbs up for the takeover.  And it was after George had been on Coast for some time.  Art if I remember correctly also talked how Mike Siegal didn't get the vibe of Coast while George got it.  I think that was part of what Art said.

That said I don't blame Art for changing his mind.

Noory was better in the past. Turning conventional wisdom on its head, he actually got worse with experience.

I would advise him to be very careful about that.

Not only does he open himself to the potential of a lawsuit, he also risks coming across as sour grapes. Nobody wants to hear that.

You aren't subscribing/listening, ergo nobody else is, so it'll just be us 23 CoastGab mouthbreathers to hear it.

I think you're right. His boredom with the format and the guests overcame the tiny amount of pride in doing a good job which he had. I don't know what it is he'd rather be doing, but based on his performance over the last 10 years it's clearly not being the host of a nationwide overnight alt radio show. I think he'd rather be a lounge singer. More like a Vegas headliner.
