Hoagland is as entertaining as malaria.

Yah i  hope hoaxland is on as part of a group of past art guest. Like Art has clips of Hoaxland, LMH, Dames, etc wishing him good luck on the new show.

Well was listening to the first hour of C2C last night, and it really started to SUCK! FU Carnavora! So i switched over to my archive of old Art shows on my netbook, Jan 1,1997 to be exact and heard a caller ask about when Art got interested in Richard. Art replied it was another listener that told Art to check out Mr. Hougland. Art said it had been 5 years ago, so that means Richard C. has been on the air with Art and now Dave for 21 years!
Also on that show some crackpot who said he was a "Professional Clairvoyant" predicted that California was going to suffer 3 big quakes between 1997 and 2000 that would wipe the state out. And he said people should pack their junk up and move out of the state as soon as possible ::). Well Gee, seems California is still hanging in there Just like Richard! :o

Having heard rebroadcasts of Art interviewing Hoagland closer to his most recent departure from broadcasting, he sounded so tired of Richard's craziness, it will be interesting to hear what an interview sounds like with the chains off.  We're talking about a guest that hasn't been challenged at all on the air since Noory took the helm.  I personally think that it is going to be very, very interesting to hear how Art reacts to the stuff that Richard says in the new show.  I predict that it will be a difficult interview, and not for Art.  I actually like Hoagland's enthusiasm and find it fun to listen to, but can't for a second see the things that he claims to in the pictures that he references.  In the age that traffic to a website won't crash it completely and make it difficult for Art to comment on the pics that Hoagland is referencing, I think that we will be hearing a very different interview.  As a matter of fact, this exact thing could be a line in the sand that he draws between the old and the new.  I get why a lot of people don't like RCH, but I hope that folks hold judgement until they see how things play out on Dark Matter as opposed to Coast.

I'm happy to give Hoagland another chance with a fresh, rejuvenated Bell.  Maybe we will even get another classic clip of Bell subtly calling BS

For the record, MJ, who runs Art's Facebook fan page and speaks to him regularly, said that Art recently confirmed that he will be having 100% unscreened calls on his new show.

I assumed people here would want to know.  ;D

Art's fighting with Premiere had reached a really vicious level at this time. It's really hard to judge things about his shows at this point in time because he was getting screwed by Premiere, and hated doing shows for them. I'm willing to give any guests Art had another chance.

I believe that Art has already publicly stated this.

Cool, I didn't see it. Either way, it's good information for the board.  :)

CampsieNP

Just barely over a month until Art Bell is back.

With all the unbeelieffable events going on at the GNS page, I just needed a quick reminder to myself and hopefully others that we need to keep that in mind. To expect anyone else to suddenly bring their "A" game,,,hell,,,B- game after all these sad, boring, frustrating years on Arts C2C show....well....I just don't expect that to happen. Joining up with BellGab, hat & eyeballs-in-hand, does not a quality broadcaster make.

I'm sure there is at least one person who was unaware so just consider it a bump

Okay, CampsieNP, that was funny!

September 16 can't come soon enough.  The countdown clock on artbell.com tells me it's 33 days 23 hours and 55 minutes away.  But who's counting?  :)

Renaldo

Hoagland on the show? SWEET! I'm all over this now.

CampsieNP

Thanks lonevoice .
(I have ALWAYS loved your avatar by the way!)
I really appreciate how you added up the time to the minute until Art Bell is back!
I wanted to do that, but got lazy and just said "over a month".
It is going to be really great, isn't it???

Not me, *surreptitiously looks at watch*

SaucyRossy

For everyone upset about Hoagland just go to artbell.com and email Paul
Bowman with guest suggestions.

Rarely does a radio show give such direct access to the producer in charge of booking guests.  Take advantage of it instead of complaining.

Usagi

Come on, now.  Hoagie's a cutie.  I'd like to hear from him, but I realize that it's just a strange matter of taste for me.  Just don't make him "Science Advisor."  :o

Glad you enjoy the avi.  I've thought of changing it before, but I've grown pretty fond of it myself.  Besides, it's fun to have it showing up on the GNS thread when he's creeping around in there.   :)

You're right, it IS going to be great, of that I have no doubt whatsoever.  *Joins onan in OCD watch-peeking behavior*

Foodlion

I came here from the George Noory sucks thread... I need a break from there. After all of the excitement that Noory came to mengle with his haters, It seems It's turn to a 101 questionathonm and him pulling the pitty card.

So.... I hear Art is back!?!  :o

Hoagland doesn't bother me.  If you were listening live back in the day, he inspired a kind of wonder, got folks pouring over nasa images looking for oddities.    His more deluded assertions these days are harmlessly charming at best(nazi suspension bridge on the rings of saturn!), disappointing and embarrassing at worst (let me photoshop an aztec temple over these nondescript rocks on the moon).  But he got people looking, and there's merit in that.

Complaining about guests on a fringe format radio show seems a bit fruitless; I welcome the nutters and hucksters, they're part of the charm if the interviewer is competent.

I agree.  "Into the Night with Art Bell" sounds better, but I'm not going to fuss over it.  I just call it "the Art Bell Show" anyway.

I prefer "Flrlqndpsl with Art Bell."

lonevoice

I'm still holding out for "Art Bell's Gray Matter for Lonevoice".  Nothing else will do.

Art, well adult males, should avoid having the same title as the Benny Mardones pedo song(hit top 40 in 1980 and '89 you creepy Americans)

Rick Dees "Into the Night" disaster on ABC in 1990-91 also a horrific connection.

man.  the original "grey matter" post made me laugh harder that probably any other post i've read on this forum.  ever.  sometimes, a particular arrangement of words can just strike you in a certain way, and that did.

Evidently one of his first guests is Hoagland. As much as I look forward to Art Bell's return, I am not happy about having to listen to Hoagland.
same as it ever was

ACE of CLUBS

Hoagland will be somewhat listen-able with Art.  Instead of Richard being 'bat-shit crazy' with Noory, maybe he'll just be 'crazy' with Art.

'Looks like rocks to me Richard' ......... makes me smile!

Morgus

Linda Howe is the special c2c streamlink chat guest coming up soon.
Somebody should ask her in the chat if she will be a regular guest on Art's new Sirius radio show...

You might be right but in my books if Keith says it you can take it to the bank.
