Oh, and the George/Ian bit is kind of amusing, also. But I'll still take drunk Ian over sober Noory.

Same here. Thanks for the post...

He would only need a primary uplink facility to connect to the Sirius/Xm Radiostat satellites.

this is inaccurate.

a satellite uplink doesn't explicitly indicate an association with sirius/xm or anyone else.  a satellite uplink is just another means of moving data from one location to another. it could be used for terrestrial radio, satellite radio, or anything else.

jazmunda

Surely he already has the right equipment in place to broadcast terrestrial radio or has the technology advanced since his last broadcasts from the high desert or has his previous employers removed "their" property?

ourobouros2k2

None of his ham radio gear (with exception of audio chain, mic's, mixers, etc..) would help him produce a show, so it makes sense he would need to uplink content. I have heard Art mention several times in archived shows that the show was uplinked from his studio to premrad or whoever was before them.

I'm not referring to his ham radio gear. He did produce the show from his home for over a decade so presumably he has the equipment he already needs to produce a new show.

I will await an offical annoucement before I purchase sirius/xm equipment. Cannot use it in the jail where I work :'( Hope programs will be archived somewhere

So after work, do you leave the building and get in a vehicle and go home?  Or is this kind of a "work from home" kind of arrangement?  You don't, um, make licence plates do you?  Just curious.  Anyway, Sirius seriously sucks.  I'd really be disappointed if Art came back, but exclusively on dying Satellite Radio.

agreed.  overpriced and underperforming.  they give shit to their real talent (opie and anthony) and MILLIONS to people who have no radio experience and bring nothing to that table (martha stewart, oprah, etc.).

Stern is emblematic of Sirius's problems. Promised too much, delivered too little and coasted on reputations built decades ago. Satellite is becoming a repository for the has-been and never-was.

I too hope the programs are archived as I don't have access to sirrius. I'd even pay a subscription if Art resurrected his website and podcasts the shows.

So if Art is coming back to broadcasting via radio, or satellite, or web, or whatever, does anyone have an educated guess as to the timing of his return? Maybe for his traditional New Year's predictions?

analog kid

I thought he was tidying up some loose ends before moving back to Manila. His buying new equipment is indicative of something, at least.

Sometimes I go home, sometimes I go to my girlfriend's house if her husband is out of town. I am not an inmate.

thats a huge leap, don't act like the infamous Fort Rock.
the real prediction is he will NOT return.
he has retired he said and he has said in the past he would never go to satellite or podcasts, only real radio broadcasting for him.

good idea.
i don't expect any such announcement, just as in the past its just more hyped up phony or misinterpreted rumours.
only expect the old replays of art bell continuing on saturday nights and via streaming internet, nothing new.

Is there even any proof that he has bought new equipment?

One posters friend of a friends rumour does not make it fact. No offence but I will wait for something more concrete from the man himself.

Which is why I said take it with a grain of salt, and provided the link to the original conversation so that anyone who wants can follow it up/see for themselves.

Personally I think it makes sense and I WANT to believe it's true, but I'm as in the dark as anyone. I just passed it along is all.

As I said no offence. You can see how one post taken the wrong way suddenly turns into a fact and then speculation on possible return dates. I as much as anyone want Art to return and hope these rumours are true.

O&A have real talent? Our moderator has a short penis? George Noory is the permanent host for C2C ? WTF happened?  In light of the upcoming regional war in the mideast, $10 a gallon gas, LSU becoming the first team to win 3 BCS championships, we need a calm voice to lead us through the night. Certainly not Noory "somethins gonna happen"
Oh yeah for all of the Alabama fans out there: Saban was spotted in Austin

I think its time for him to put down the wee Asian and pick up a microphone.

Frys Girl

That belly on Art isn't doing anything but increasing his back pain.

Granted, when they met she was only a few years removed from using her "Easy Bake Oven"

Morgus

A caller just asked Noory during open lines about Art ever hosting again.
But Noory told the caller Art Bell retired fully a year ago and won't return, it was all his decision he noted...
