Our paralegal is named Shorty.

Thanks Art, I am a BMOM (Bring My Own Music) kinda guy.  Digging through the host's fridge is rude...

Edit:  Although I will enjoy the Live bumpers if I am near a device that can pick up the signal...

Does anyone know who owns U7?  Is he a bellgabber?

I wonder if Art would be cool with people calling in and using their BellGab usernames.

White Crow should be the name everyone uses to remain anonymous. Make sure to distort your voices in that signature white crowian drawl.
I thought we were all calling in as "Dave," at least when RCH is on with Art.

I think Art should have Richard Hoagland on again ASAP....Love 'em or hate 'em, it will surely piss-off George again....Desert 1 - Coast 0

That's reason enough for me.  I can see the steam coming out of his ears.  :D

Being a white crow is better than being a member of the Black Crowes. I always hated that band, but I guess I will have to use another name than my BellGab name because Art probably wouldn't like the word ass to be used on air.

Arrrrt, I will swash as many buckles as need be.

I'm with you on the Black Crowes.  I can't get into a drunken singer with a mouth full of mush.

I like the idea of carrier pigeons.
I'm disappointed nobody mentioned signal flags!

And I thought of another subject Art could do a show on: Biohacking. (magnets in fingers and all kinds of other stuff like that)

For me it's like the National Enquirer... all bullshit, but so entertaining that I buy it anyway and it sits in my bathroom next to my toilet paper and worn out copy of Dune. Most of the guests are full of crap, but I don't care for two reasons. 1) I love listening to Art and how he interacts with the guest and 2) Art makes it interesting and asks GOOD questions. That is the thing Noory can not do and the reason I stopped listening to him.

And to put it another way... any host who can get me to sit through Richard Hoagland's utter bs for an hour HAS to be good. And Art is that.

^^^^^ Same here.
Back in Junior High School when it was my turn for stand-up Current Events in front of class, I'd source articles from National Enquirer.

I know Paul and Art have drones and I thought they might like this and anyone else that's into them.

$10 bellgab dollars to the first one of you beautiful bastards that "White Crow's" the old man during test open lines!

Thanks ... just another one of my many logs in the investment fire, that's designed to make me money.

And you guys laugh at my brilliance.

Whats the deal with music and licensing?

laserjock

Art wants to do his new show replete with all the good music for bumpers he's always had, but thanks to a cluster screw that is the music industry and music rights, he's severely restricted in his choices in that area, in order to offer podcasts/downloadables with such music requires large fees and restrictions, and Art has had to make some choices, one of which is that the live show will have music and the recorded shows will have them removed.  Early on, there was real worry he wouldn't even be able to offer a show because of this issue.  Thank you RIAA!  And I am a former musician saying this...

Cool! I must have one!

But, alas, first I must have $1199.00, and my birthday's not till June.

Art, about the music you will have on your show, do you know about the band called "The Shins"?  I discovered them a little while back, their sound is just a touch reminiscent of the 60's, but they have a very distinctive sound, I think they are awesome and a lot of fun.  Their music would definitely be a good fit for your tie ins and tie outs, and the older crowd would probably NOT OBJECT to them, since their sound is ageless, unlike a lot of today's music.

Their music is an interesting mix of joyful melancholy and extroverted self examination...

The shins are great. Their set on Austin city limits recently was great. Simple song is one of my favorite songs ever. However, not sure if they would give me the right frame of mind for an art bell show.

laserjock

It would depend on what song, and they've got several really good ones.

Q: I plan on modifying my old rotary-dial phone into a mono speaker/mic combo.  I would like to send secret messages to your listeners with the rotary-pulse dial while I am on air.  Do you recommend a 1/4" or 1/8" TRS plug for this project?

A. I would suggest the connection be according to your computer I/O. 1/8" is not TRS, usually 1/4" is TRS, but it really doesn't matter as to the connection, but the data stream you send should be encrypted with SSL, so it doesn't identify you. As long as we can't hear it on the audio feed, you should be able to send data on the sub-audible channel just fine.

Added to the FAQ at http://artbell.com/art-bells-new-show-faq/

Will there be a way to contribute more than a subscription fee?

k-rowland

Yes, we'll have a way to "donate" to the show and receive some type of "prize" to do so.

Anything Art Bell signed would be cool.

This July can not approach in a quick manner for me. I will not have the ability to listen to the show at the dedicated time it is commencing. It will be commencing early in morning. I will make a subscribe and I will listen in my nightmares. Be good times.

serenity

You know it's too bad the FCC won't let us have a ham radio link to the show. Now that would be way cool. Hey wait maybe using one of the more obscure digital modes like feldhell or throb?
Naw, iI havn't had enough coffee yet, just musing ......
