Being a white crow is better than being a member of the Black Crowes. I always hated that band, but I guess I will have to use another name than my BellGab name because Art probably wouldn't like the word ass to be used on air.

For me it's like the National Enquirer... all bullshit, but so entertaining that I buy it anyway and it sits in my bathroom next to my toilet paper and worn out copy of Dune. Most of the guests are full of crap, but I don't care for two reasons. 1) I love listening to Art and how he interacts with the guest and 2) Art makes it interesting and asks GOOD questions. That is the thing Noory can not do and the reason I stopped listening to him.

And to put it another way... any host who can get me to sit through Richard Hoagland's utter bs for an hour HAS to be good. And Art is that.

Art wants to do his new show replete with all the good music for bumpers he's always had, but thanks to a cluster screw that is the music industry and music rights, he's severely restricted in his choices in that area, in order to offer podcasts/downloadables with such music requires large fees and restrictions, and Art has had to make some choices, one of which is that the live show will have music and the recorded shows will have them removed.  Early on, there was real worry he wouldn't even be able to offer a show because of this issue.  Thank you RIAA!  And I am a former musician saying this...

Art, about the music you will have on your show, do you know about the band called "The Shins"?  I discovered them a little while back, their sound is just a touch reminiscent of the 60's, but they have a very distinctive sound, I think they are awesome and a lot of fun.  Their music would definitely be a good fit for your tie ins and tie outs, and the older crowd would probably NOT OBJECT to them, since their sound is ageless, unlike a lot of today's music.

The shins are great. Their set on Austin city limits recently was great. Simple song is one of my favorite songs ever. However, not sure if they would give me the right frame of mind for an art bell show.

A. I would suggest the connection be according to your computer I/O. 1/8" is not TRS, usually 1/4" is TRS, but it really doesn't matter as to the connection, but the data stream you send should be encrypted with SSL, so it doesn't identify you. As long as we can't hear it on the audio feed, you should be able to send data on the sub-audible channel just fine.
