Is her voice as pleasant as the voice of Lisa Garr?  She is the standard by which all other voices can only aspire to.

I would pay her to read my encyclopedias. Here is a podcast interview with her as a guest.

I prefer cranial nerve exams and head lice checks.

I had a friend at work who retired to Jacksonville, Fla.  She bought a newly built house.  She had scoped the neighborhood, day and night, weekdays and weekends, just to be sure things were safe.  During her first year there she was shocked at 'fire season'.  It seems as though people are told to leave their houses and migrate to safer areas because at a certain time each year fires ignite in the area.  All along the cavalcade of cars on the highway there are motels that triple their prices for these migrants.

Often, one part of the country isn't really aware of what's happening in other parts.  Sorry that you're going through that.  It must be very disconcerting.

I saw this article about the Colorado River drying up.
http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/the-colorado-river-runs-dry-61427169/

We live in troubling times.

Thanks, Segundus.  Hopefully the Colorado River will be regenerated in the coming years.  It looks like the West is getting more rain now than they did last year. Lord knows it is needed out there.  I do wonder if the extreme growth of the Las Vegas area has had an extremely detrimental effect on the river.  I don't see how one river can support a city of that size with water especially without affecting the water supply of those communities further downstream.

Somebody somewhere is asleep at the switch. I was listening to Clyde Lewis on KTRH using the iHeart app and just had several minutes of dead air instead of commercials. Finally the stream came back.

I guess Dave can forget about that Fidel Castro interview now.

LOL.  Who knows.  Maybe they will meet on the other side.

What a bummer. Bad humming noise is ruining the sound of Steph's voice.

Her voice is actually quite pleasant.  The only thing that could make this interview better would be if Lisa Garr was the interviewer.

That voice could actually talk me into teatime.

But, isn't that a good thing?

Steph has a crisp, boner-inducing British accent.

So, you listen to CtoC for the boners?

Her voice always sounds fuzzy to me.  Often, on C2C, the host's voice is heard as louder than the guests and callers.  I would think that could be adjusted for.

She sounds like a little girl, which used to be a 'style' years back.  Women were supposed to be non-threatening and docile.  Pedophiles like such voices, I'd imagine.

Stuck in post-Thanksgiving traffic and listening to the second "Secret Door" show of the year. What an awful show. But had some unintended humor. Quayle, as always, was sort of fun even though Norry just asked about the same items (the giant in Afghanistan.) But Ian was hilarious as some lady who grew up the Bronx but lives in Jersey. Norry was amazing and stupid. He couldn't determine the gender of fake Ian's character with a name like "Estelle"- even when Ian explained- like Stella, Estrella,- from "star" and we have a new Norryism:

"I was thrown BY a loop."

This seems to be true on so many shows.  Anyone listening esp. on headphones would notice this, I don't get why they don't boost the levels of guests/callers or just bring down the booming host's voice.

We're just listening to two people talking - this must be solvable by science.

Jorch likes to say he does holiday shows "to be there for the shut-ins, the invalids, assorted misfits, etc."  Just like athlete's foot, he'll probably be there for us, whether we want it or not.

Maybe he will update those "shut-ins, invalids, assorted misfits, etc" on the "Foundation" he was going to set up to help them and the "health insurance plan" he was going to set up to get them insured and help with their medical conditions. Or, maybe, he will just give away some unread books that guest's agents sent him to blind open-line callers.

Since New Years Eve is on a Saturday, one of the guests host might do it. Noory said he would only do a holiday on the weekend if the guest host refused to do so.
Christmas Eve is also on a Saturday, so Noory might not have to do that one either.
Christmas Day on a Sunday could mean Knapp  might do it that night, unless he wants the night off than Noory will step in?
New Year's Day is the first Sunday of the month, thats Noory's regular night so he will probably do that one I bet.

I always like hearing Robert Zubrin, so I'll probably tune in tonite.  Although as I remember last time he was on, George directed the convo into politics - I hope he just sticks to tech.

Morgus

Of course old Bill the AAA calls in to guest Robert Zubrin since its about Mars, he is an amateur atheist astronomer afterall.
Here comes his multipart long question again and he also of course has to comment he voted for Hillary Clinton...

Morgus

Noory should have on Friday nights one of his frequent regular callers like Bill the AAA as a guest for a half hour so callers can ask them questions...

A while back didn't Bill nearly have a meltdown on one of his calls?  He basically gave his life story and why we should feel sorry for him, but being that I always tune him out when he calls, I forgot what he said.

Such a shame, George was so close to getting Fidel Castro on as a guest. According to George anyway.

I can only imagine how that would have gone.

George: Fidel, thank you and welcome to the show my friend.
Castro: Buena noches - hello.
George: You're in Havana aren't you? Great town.
Castro: Of course I am in Havana.
George: You know Fidel the Cuban people are great people. I'm here in St. Louis, spending some time with the family and I have a friend, Tomas, he owns a little shoe repair shop here, he's Cuban. Great guy. Do you know him?
Castro: No, how would I know this person. Is this a serious question? Muy loco.
George: How about Ricky Ricardo? When I was a little boy growing up in Detroit I would sit with my mother and we would watch the Lucy show.
Castro: Please proceed with serious questions only. I don't have time for silly things.
George: Fidel we hear you're not in good health. Have you considered using Carnivora?
Castro: I am 90 years old of course my health is not good but I don't wish to speak about this.
George: I understand. I believe in the body's power to heal itself if you feed it the right things. I'm going to send you some Carnivora, send Tommy your phone number after the interview.
Castro: No reason to do this. Cuba have best medical system in the world. What will be will be.
George: You're not afraid of death? A few years ago I attended the funeral of a close friend who died in a motorcycle accident. Fidel I was standing there looking at him in his casket and a cold chill came over me. I thought "That's it? Nothing? There's nothing."
Castro: You are like a frightened small stupid child who need believe in fantasy worlds.
George: Let's talk about President Kennedy.  I'll never forget the day he was assassinated, I was just a boy in the 7th grade when they made the announcement on the school public address system they let us all go home. I sat with my mother in our living room watching Walter Cronkite, she was crying. You knew President Kennedy didn't you?
Castro: ...

the worst Bill the AAA call was the call to Clyde Lewis where he described his porn preferences

Ah, so!  Good points, as always, Morgus.  So there is hope the weekend may save us from some of the potential holiday Jorch suck-fests.  It sure would be nice to get a Christmas Day gift from Knapp.

I seem to recall some issue about an inheritance of a house after his mom died? And some other drama. I thankfully missed his call with Clyde where he apparently detailed his porn preferences.
