I thought noory had the fast blast done away with? (Most likely his screener would get it anyway, so whats the dif?)

Hmm. It's still on the C2C website. (Home page, very, very top, just left of center)

I sent one and received a message confirming it was sent but...?

mombird3

And George posted on the Facebook c2c page "Hello everyone, I am glad to be back from my vacation."  He has never done this before. It is very strange. Maybe Art's announcement got to him.

The first caller, screened and hand picked WAS (drumroll please) - a submissive easy target for George to spew gun paranoia!  Whooppee!

This shows all that is wrong with Coast, the first story and the first call after vacation allow George to express opinions that are minority views nationally and with Coast listeners.  Give George a politics show and watch him die and give Coast back to Art, who created a show that was listener driven.

It did, his start was "This will be a regular Coast show" - I think his reference meant "Coast like Art used to do", of course he does not know how grossly incapable he is of doing an Art-like show aqnymore.

He did remove Fast Blast just like he removed every other contact with listeners.

I just FAST BLASTed:

"Art is coming back, you should be very, very scared for your job Mr. Call Screener.

George is a 3rd rate radio host from a low performing station in St. Louis (at the time). Art was the number one radio guy in the country."

Morgus

Noory hasn't read any fastblasts for years, not since they added a new text message number instead.

New here, and just wanted to drop in and say I've read through much of this awesome thread and the hilarity found within has tempered my despair at what this fool - I believe here he is referred to as "The Nooron" - has done to my once favorite show (listened to Art for many years).  As many others on here feel, I am amazed how he's taken such a cool show and mangled it with, amongst other things,  his colossal failure to show any true conversational ability/interest with his guests.

His trite conversation-killing responses like "Well it sure is" or "Uh-huh, absolutely" when his guest has offered such low-hanging fruit beckoning for a thoughful follow-up question, or new direction in topic, just drives me nuts.  It's like a whole vista of possibilities has just opened up, and instead of the old days where Art would have taken us along on the journey of discovery, we get this bumbling fool jarringly moving on to the next unrelated topic on his cheat sheet list, killing the whole flow.

The parade of suck-ups calling in on the 10 year anniversery show saying what a great job he's done at the helm was more than I could bear.  I think that's when I searched around and ended up here, wondering if I was the only one who thought differently.  Luckily I have found other like-minded souls here who have shown me I'm not alone in my disbelief that people actually think this guy's a good host.

Anyway, I have more annoyances (like his horrible bumper music), and will chime in more later, but just wanted to say thanks for all the laughs - to keep me from weeping at the wreckage that has been wrought on Coast.  Also, my quick thoughts on a few of the other hosts

* Knapp - Coherent and interested, usually pretty well-prepared for his interviews - for the most part I like him
* Punnett - Relatively articulate, interesting conversationalist, but often rather pretentious and dismissive
* Wells - Interesting if gloomy topics, interested in and respectful to his guests, but unfortunately rather incoherent at times, cool bumper music though

He may or may not read them -- how can we ever trust what Snorge says?

But since they still have the feature, someone must be reading the fast blasts or they'd just remove the feature completely. And as long as someone is reading them, it would be hilarious to bombard that person with fast blasts about Art's return. Snorge is bound to hear about it from that person sooner or later.

I think I'll send a text now...  ;D

Nice interview George. Nothing but letting the guest ramble on and on. Classic NOORY. In the words of Vincent K. McMahon "YOUR FIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDD"!!!

Greetings Zeebo. Nice opener  8)
With Wells, I think his performance is directly related to what he has in his pipe at that moment.
As far as noory goes, he comes off as tho he's been beaten with a pipe.

Or Mr. Spacely from the Jetsons. They're interchangable.  ;)

I think I heard George say he could not wait to get back. He should be very worried. I hope that Art does come back to radio. And we can listen to some decent radio for a change.

Also: on Facebook tonight under George's post the suck up listeners, who I think were fakes, were gushing over George "Snoory's" return. Last night the ines who dislike the show were out in full force.

Do they eventually delete posts that criticize Snorge? I don't know much about Facebook.

MTB

No, when I was a regular on the C2C Facebook page they didn't do that much deleting of posts.

Thanks Doomed, your comment had me giggling.  They both seem dazed at times, but like u say probably for different reasons.  Wells to me does seem like a pretty intelligent guy, it's just he sometimes builds these pretzel-like sentences where the exit is hard to find.  Noory, well I don't know what the deal is with that guy.  I'm hoping I can try and unravel the mystery with more time spent on this board.

Thanks. I may post there now, lol.  ;D

mombird3

No they do not delete posts at FB. There were about 60 that I read. There is a "We miss Art Bell" page where much of the ones who dislike the show now are. But last night there we many ones on the C2C page and they were NOT looking forward to George's return. Tonight Noory posted on it for the first time. I have it on my Facebook daily news on my account, with show notes and pictures. In the two + years I am on this account, I have never seen George post a thing. So it was a first. Maybe he gets the point of how awful he is? Maybe his time is short on the show? I hope.

zeebs use of "incoherent" is perfect for Wells "at times."  Many wtf moments with him but I always find them somewhat amusing in a stoner kind of way... oh and his surfer talk the other night was classic

Wells does have one talent noory lacks. He'll be mumbling along, kinda tossing words out there, and suddenly he almost jars the radio with a question. Kinda like he woke himself up? Jorch has never been able to wake himself up. "Yeh...well...that true"

jinwicked

I checked out the Facebook page. Now my brain hurts.

QuoteThank God... I really didn't like that toad voiced guy (lol) who sounded like he's smoked a few too many cartons of cigs in his days... And all he ever talked about was gun control and the 2nd Amendment. Blah, I thought I was listening to Fox News.   Good to have you back, George. Sorry if that guest host is your friend but... he just rubs me the wrong way.

Quite a bit of complaints there about JBW actually. I find him pretty insufferable myself.

And yeah, plenty of anti-Noory comments left undeleted. Doubt he reads them.

Its been a few days but George still sucks donkey's penis. George is putting me to sleep and that is a good thing if I can't sleep. But I want to stay up but George is killing me. I guess that the commando pizza roll failed their mission last week so good night.

Art Bell is coming back??
Only Art and God knows if Art is coming back to deploy the kracken on George Snoory.

NoMoreNoory

Just sent a text. I suspect Tommy is the one that fields them, but hopefully there's been enough to rattle.

10 years of mediocrity may be coming to an end! The nightly butchering of the English language. The complete lack of natural curiosity. The dull predictable cue card questions. You've done enough damage to the show we all knew and loved. Hope your're sweating bullets Jorchy boy! To borrow a Noory-ism...."That's right!"

...Millions and millions of songs to choose from and I swear Snorge keeps selecting bumper music...
George returns and declares tonight's show to be "classic."  Twice.  George doesn't have classic shows, but there was one where some guy, who didn't buy into the "abiotic oil" thing,  laid into George right from the start of the interview about his irresponsibility.  Something like that might be worth listening to a second time. James McCanney on comet ISON (cool name) that will be heading our way this year, and, if George plays his cards right,  may be ripe for fear mongering.  James D. Stein was on to talk about paranormal stuff, but he was really all over the place, with the physics, and the science, and the personality, energy, clarity, and common sense to render George irrelevant.  Good guy.
After a week of Wells one does notice the stale crappy repetition of George's bumper music.  I think it's all the in the same rotation according to the days of the week.  Wells can play some crap too, but it's crappy stuff that I ain't heard before.  Keep on sucking, George.  The wolves are at the door.

Welcome, Zeebo. Nice initial post, which has me chuckling because its exact match can be found in dozens, scores, hundreds of earlier initial posts here. It's hilarious that your post could have been written by virtually everyone here. It the Phenomenon of George that he has united so many people in having the exact, identical feelings about him.

Loved the quote from the fan about "internal human combustion". I think he's on to something: it could be the force that powers the universe...

Just like every show is a "very special show", and every guest is a "very special guest".

NoMoreNoory

Well, you have to hand it to Joorchie. Back in the saddle and straight back into his usual form. It didn't take long. Having talked about the solar flare that he is so desperate to see happen, he informs us, with astonishingly detailed precision, that Professor Jose Lopez is 'a physicist at a university', before introducing his first guest with the usual incomprehensible gobbledygook:
'Professor James McCanney is top computer science and astronomy as well as numerous other math courses. He is an expert when it deals with planetary systems and comets...'
It's English, Jim, but not as we know it.
Coming to his second guest, James Stein, would it be outrageous to think that, with a week to prepare, The Idiot might have at least familiarised himself with Stein's book? You'd listen in vain for tell-tale phrases like 'You say in your book.....' etc. Not a bit.
Stein was not the most articulate, but would no doubt have given an intelligent interview to Ian or George K. Instead he was pulled from pillar to post by Noory's cue-card scattergun. What about Numerology? What's your take on life after death? UFOs? What was your favourite part of the book to write?

Inane, dumb, mushmouthed, inarticulate, incapable of listening and developing an interview. Oh yes: he's back, alright. And IT SUCKS.

Art, please, sir. Don't wait too much longer. We need you now!
