What I noticed most about our numbers lady is that she would be right no matter who won.  For the first time in months I managed a few minutes of Wells on the weekend when she was on.  A few days back she said that Obama would probably win... his numbers said so.  She immediately followed up that statement by reminding us that this year is a 5 year- a year of chaos and surprises so it is entirely possible that Romney might win.  I cannot help but assume that if Romney had won she would have been on claiming that she was 100% correct because it is a 5 year and that means that Obama might well loose...  Pure garbage and a waste of my time.
She will say something that applys to everything. I can't believe people actually buy that stuff. They really can't find good quality guests anymore? I wish C2C let  David John Oats back on. Atleast he was interesting.

Hahahaha...... yeah, bring back reverse speech.  Much more intelligible than Noory and more believable than the mind-numbing Numbers Lady. ;)

Unless they really need exposure, to sell a book or something like that, who would come on with such a poor interviewer like George Noory?

Even the guests that didn't do their homework on him the first time around would hardly want to come back.

That leaves the charlatans, hacks, and regulars.

Something I do now, almost involuntarily, is whatever book I'm reading at the time-I consider whether that author(if they're still living) could possibly be an interview subject on C2C and if Noory could handle it.

Current book I'm reading...Niall Ferguson. Maybe Ian could interview him, but Noory certainly couldn't.
Previous book. Mikal Gilmore. Ian or Knapp could, but again...Noory highly unlikely.

Next book. Gregg Allman. Ian and Knapp yes, and after hearing Wells disaster last month, I'd put Noory ahead of Wells for this interview.

Good Lord!! They are giving him more slots instead of less :( I'll have to check to the schedule......feel sorry for the guests and listeners.

Did Noory duck out after a couple of hours?  I'm listening to the five hour election special I recorded last night, and the Numbers Lady segment from earlier in the show is now REPEATING!

ziznak

dude? recorded? paleeeeze say you don't actually put that much effort into hearing this shit!

SnapT

Ha, I just press the little red button on the TuneIn Radio app on my iPhone.  Not a lot of effort!

And certainly less effort than paying for Coast Insider...

Although I still listen to C2C just for the fun of hearing Simple George get simpler every day, and I want to be listening when he crashes and burns, I usually turn off the radio when the Numbers Lady comes on because she's so damn irritating. I listened a little longer than usual last night. When she said that she used New Years Day as the start of everyone's personal number year because: "that's the way I was taught", it confirmed to me that she is a total B.S.er. This is akin to a novice astrologer claiming to be able to forecast your future with only your Sun sign. The first thing you learn in numerology is that one's personal number year begins on their birthday. The best numerologists/astrologers do NOT do things "the way they were taught", they do what they have learned WORKS after many, many years of practice. The idea that a year number can influence the entire world is bogus. This begs the question: who's new year are you going to use? January 1st? The Jewish New Year? The Druid New Year? The Chinese New Year? Each of these New Years add up to a different number. The only importance of the universal year, is in figuring out one's personal year, and their life path number. Also, claiming that one can use astrology to predict for a nation is bogus. I GOOD astrologer (very rare indeed) who has one's date, place and exact moment of birth can be amazingly accurate, but how do you get that kind of data  for a nation? Any nation can have many potentile birth dates and times. So which one to use? I have found the influence of the personal year is slight. I concentrate on astrology because it can tell you so much more than numerology. I have never charged for a reading. The best astrologers are in it for the love of the subject, and to improve their skills. We look on astrologers/numerologists who charge as prostitutes.

You will never hear the real thing on C2C. Every astrologer, numerologist or psychic I've ever heard on the show is a poser, and the Snooron inherited the worst phonies from Art; Dames, Paglini, Houge, Sean David Morton etc. Art did the same with these folks as Snoory does, spin their vague predictions into "hits" and ignore their dead misses (most of their "predictions") except Art could make it entertaining. When Snoory has an astrologer, numerologist or psychic on I turn off the radio, because I can't stand to hear a subject near and dear to my heart, osterized into pablum by Simple George.

For November 7,2012 show.

Dr. Meldrum plans to sail/fly a hot air balloon around and use it to search for bigfoot.
They are soliciting sponsors to put their names on the blimp.

Let us start raising money to stick a big Coastgab logo on the side of the balloon.
Or maybe just a cheap photoshop image.

OK.  Fess up!  Who called in and gave Noory the runaround in the second half of the first hour tonight?  I laughed and laughed. ;D

Darn, I won't be able to hear it until tomorrow. Was it a prank?

George from Wednesday night:  "Well, we'll worry about that later.  I don't doubt he didn't see saw something.  I don't doubt it.  Let's go to Bob, Pueblo, West Colorado."

There was a caller who was being a complete suckup to George and telling him he knew that C2C had more listeners than even Limbaugh and then rambling and rambling while saying absolutely nothing.  Took Noory quite a while to get around to cutting him off.

Noory took time to add that Limbaugh had the biggest audience and  Coast actually only had the largest late night audience and that he had to get that straight.  Sounded like someone of importance has called him on his numbers braggadocio.  8)

sleeplessinca

just checked in on C2C and the guest had just explained an amazing experiment regarding biological responses in people preceding the event.  She literally said "It's amazing".  George's response....."<mutters> it sure is . . . Could you talk about (I forget exactly what it was but basically..) something completely different?"

sleeplessinca

I liked this guest but had to kind of laugh when she had to say that the pyschic healer who fixed her knee was very busy with sick husband, animals and everything....

WHAT????

I had just figured the guy (and the one after him) was drunk. Could have been a send-up, though. What exactly do the C2C call screeners screen for, I wonder ?

I believe prostate cancer.  After the consultation if they should happen to pronounce you to be at risk they simply recommend turmeric and pass you to George.

Let's all chip in for a Coastgab blimp, and go looking for george noory's integrity. It must be out there somewhere.

"Would you like to take advantage of a unique opportunity to be a member of a live studio audience? We're looking for people who live in and around the Denver/Boulder area to be part of a live studio audience as we tape special episodes for a television show that I will host."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this television show George speaks of is nothing more than a streaming video from a website.  Am I correct?

So George makes a series of streaming videos from a website and thinks it would be a "unique opportunity" for the peasants to have the opportunity to sit and watch him do it?

Hey George, have you heard of YouTube?  Any moron with a webcam can post a video to YouTube and call it a television show.  Millions of people do it every year.  That's what you're doing, George.   Posting videos to a website.  And you call it a "television series" and invite people to have the "unique opportunity" of watching you do it.  Get over yourself, George.

P.S.

Hey, George! Would you like to take advantage of a unique opportunity to be a member of a live studio audience? We're looking for people who live in and around the Schmuckville, Indiana area to be part of a live studio audience as we tape special episodes for a television show that I will host.  I am going to read aloud from the phone book whilst making witty remarks about some of the more unusual names I find.  Then I will post this "television show" hosted by me to a website.  Members of the live studio audience will be offered the unique opportunity to watch me tape the "television show," live and in person, whilst seated at my kitchen table.  Don't miss this "unique opportunity."

Who is George Noory?
Seriously. This "television show" offer has me really try to figure out who he is.

He is obnoxiously ignorant. That we know. He doesn't want to learn anything new. He pretends to agree with everyone on his show, I bet he doesn't really know what any of the guests are even saying.

We have over 500 pages of this thread.. and I still don't know who George Noory is besides a jumpy sloppy talking ill-equipped host who got lucky because, took over a show from someone who built his audience, and has single handledly destroyed everything he inherited.
It's like a kid that gets his dad's car and house after dad passes, and the house becomes a meth lab and the car gets wrecked and never fixed. It's as though he could really care less about anything except a paycheck and his own ego.

WE have been through all this before, for years.

What amazes me though is how much the executives don't give a damn. Most likely because the show is for 'wackos' who stay up late at night and talk about UFOs. George is good with that. He doesn't cut people off or make waves. But people who DID listen to the show before Noory knew it wasn't just for nuts and drunks. There was truly intelligent conversation back in the Art Bell era. People learned stuff, and debated stuff.. and it was exciting. Now the show is dull and .....
Bell: Things that went Bump in the night.
Noory: Things that slump in the night.

So who.. really, deep, is George Noory?

Juan

Let me tell you some things about broadcasting - based on my own career. Broadcast executives think they know everything.  Anchors, hosts, producers, account executives, and particularly audience members are all idiots.  They are all to be manipulated and fooled.

My specialty in broadcasting was to go to television stations with news departments that were failures in the ratings.  I would work for 2-3 years to devise and execute a plan and get the ratings up significantly.  The executives expressed their gratitude, but when it came time for me to be rewarded for my efforts, the executives would run me off or fire me, and turn the operation to a 25-year old blonde girl with two years experience.  They thought she would be able to follow my "formula" and keep the ratings up. She never did.  In another few years, the ratings would stink again, and the executives wouldn't know why.  They never understand creativity and flexibility.

Obviously, the Cheap Channel executives thought they could simply plug George (as the little blonde girl) in to follow Art's formula.  Equally obviously, George's ratings, based on Cheap Channel's requirements for its business model, are good enough.  Otherwise, they'd get another little blonde girl.
