George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No

I want to be fair. We need to establish exactly what it was George said. Can you get a quote, ManiacMatt? And can anyone defend George on this? Can anyone point to a time when he did what he claimed to have done in the interview with Darkness Radio? It's quite possible George may have dropped guests, but I charge that he has never let the audience know it. He never did so in such a way that anyone could have possibly known 1)the guest was dropped, and certainly not because 2) he thought the guest was a fraud.

Host (David):  When you get into some of these interviews are there ever any points when you hear this that it sounds so fantastical that's almost impossible for you to believe or to continue on on the interview?

Noory:  What I try to avoid is someone taking advantage of somebody financially.  Of course, a lot of people write books, they have little dvds on things that they do, that's one thing.  But, if there's out right fraud involved or they're out to really try to rake in cash from people; you know send money toward donation.  That's when I step in.  I have kicked off, on this program, several guests over the last ten years and they are not coming back because they did things like that.  They did things that I felt weren't above board and that's what I try to avoid.  Were in an industry, David, it's entertainment, it's informational, it's fun, it's informative and we have a mix of all of that all of the time  So, even when I used to listen to Art Bell, and I would hear somebody disappear over area 51, I was skeptical.  You know, I sat back and said oh come on this didn't happen.  Art, your'e making this up.  But, it was fun enough and interesting enough to let your mid wonder for a little bit and say you know what  but maybe it's possible.  Maybe it's possible.  It's that thought the maybe it's possible that I think makes coast to coast what it is.  It allows people to just let their minds wonder and they can decide what they want.  Are we being visited by extraterrestrials?  Is there life after death?  Is bigot out there?  Are all these things occurring?  Some of us say us, some of us say no, but he important thing is, let your mind wonder.  Open up your mind to the possibilities that these things could exist and it'll make you a different person.

Above and beyond the call, ManiacMatt! Many thanks.

And I do indeed call bullshit on George Noory!

Ooh, who is it here that likes to email or fast-blast George? Was it eddie coyle? Because this would make a very good question to George: "Could you please substantiate the statement made by you on Darkness Radio on 12/15/11 in which you said (quote him). I am quite familiar with C2C ever since you became host and I cannot substantiate a single occasion on which you have "stepped in" to "kick off" guests who were attempting to "rake in cash". I submit there is no evidence of such action on your part, and intend publishing my findings unless you can direct me to occasions in which you unequivocally terminated a guest's interview for fraudulent fundraising, or any criminal behavior for that matter." (Didn't he even let the pedophile talk?)

If he deigns to answer such a question, my bet is he would claim it was all done "off air", and that he didn't comment on the drop so as to spare the guest embarrassment. Which also conveniently allows him to claim whatever the hell he wants to.

Yep, gotta say that was a stunner I'll never forget. In the space of 5 seconds it was, "YAAAAY! Huh? A survivor! Noooo!!! Run, Walt!! WHAT...THE...WHAT?!?!? Uh, yaaaaay?"

I must say though I get depressed watching the series, especially since Walt has now abandoned any pretense of being a man caught in a cruel trap just trying to help his family. The "I am the one who knocks" line makes him the same as Gus. The writers are playing with fire if they take this arc forward. I predict recurrence of cancer.

Here's another "brilliant" question from George to a guest from 7-9-12 at about 11:15 PT, 'Are the differences between different species caused by genetics?'

The guest, no doubt stunned by Noory's level of understanding, paused for a few seconds and then said, "Ah, yes."

I loved the guest's response when George asked him something about combining fish and human genes to create a "fish man."

The guest, a British geneticist, stunned by the sheer stupidity of the question said, "I had forgotten what it's like to be a guest on your show."

Is this from the 7-9-12 show as well?  If so, considering the above quotes, I may have to download the show.  It sounds like an instant coast classic where the guest can not really believe that his publicist actually booked him on with the Nooron...

Yes, same show.  Another George quote went something like, 'Can traits be passed down in a family because of genetics?'  Sorry I haven't re-listened so I may not have the exact quote, but this is close.  I may re-listen.  The guest was interesting and Noory was amazing!  "Amazing" as in: how did he pass Jr. High biology?

To give him the benefit of the doubt, I think he may have been thinking of a family inclination to alcohol abuse, or a family ability to see ghosts or something,  as opposed to eye color... but still.  A "Noory classic" for sure!

The guest for tonight Patrick Flanagan, who claims to be a Nicola Tesla reincarnation, is as much a TURD as Noory!   I can't believe Tesla would reincarnate as a mentally challenged dork.  :o

dariakus

Wow, this Tesla Reincarnated guy is so out-of-it that it prompted me to finally make an account just so I could join in the "Wait, what?" conversation.

Holy moly. :o

Morgus

Noory probably has one of his staff disconnect the guest's phone connection like happened tonight in order to claim that the secret government agents are trying to keep his info from getting out.
Its the Men in Black... :D

michio

The guy who thinks he's Tesla said he had polio as a kid and the doctors told him he'd never walk again, but then he said it was "from the polio vaccine." WTF?  Does he mean the vaccine gave him polio, or the vaccine and its side effects was the reason the doctor said he'd never walk again?  Or did he mean having the vaccine allowed him to walk?  As usual and disappointingly, Noory didn't have the "active listener" intelligence to follow up on T2's remark and clarify what he meant.

Ditto.  I pretty much thought it was a Noory show gimmick, too.  [http://coastgab.com/index.php/topic,3085.msg73032.html#msg73032]

Before all that is holy, please may this be so. This quote, if it exists, must be found. For if it can be established, whole new vistas open before those who love to detest The Idiot Boy of Motor City. Countless blogs would find new mottoes; someone is waiting to be made rich from sales of emblazoned t-shirts, hoodies, ball caps and ther like.

A meme awaits.

IIRC some early versions of vaccine (not the Salk or Sabin versions which by late 50's-early60's became the vaccines more used by far) occasionally could leave an inoculated person with the disease. Don't know if that answers the question or if that was the problem spoken of.

Well, then we can look forward to St George raging in righteous indignation at them like Christ in the Temple, and throwing them off the show to protect all his dear listeners from danger ...just like he says he's done so many times before when cheats and chiselers have been booked.

That's the one.  I laughed out loud when the geneticist made that comment.  Definitely a Coast Classic.

Not at all... re-reading my post I think that the point I was trying to make did not really come across (nor did my dismal attempt at humour.)  We (those on the spectrum) do not want to claim him as one or our own.  Normal people surely do not want him.  If I felt qualified to speak for those with a very low IQ I would give reasons why he does not fit that category either as I would not wish for him to have anything in common with me.  Heck, I assume that a monkey might learn to type in order to refute that George is one of them should anybody ever accuse George of being a primate.

It takes far more than that for me to feel offended (especially when the words come from one of my favourite posters...)

Awww . . . you made my morning, and I've got a splitting migraine, so I needed a pick me up.

I did catch your humor, but I was simultaneously worried I'd offended one of *my* favorites here.  So we're even steven.  Except that I realize in the portion of my post you quoted, I cannot/did not proofread, which is disconcerting for an OCD type like me.  We all have our crosses to bear!

And I can't think of a single group that would admit to wanting Noory.  Seriously.

Someone refresh my memory: IIRC, he not only let the pedophile talk, but also suggested a future program where Noory would have said pedophile and other criminals on as guests.

Did I make this up?  As Paper Boy has pointed out, this show is beyond parody, and I honestly don't know if I'm remembering a real event or remembering something we/I envisioned Noory doing.

My recollection, but only from seeing posts here about it, is that Noory first took an all-you-need-is-some-help attitude, which he changed once he tested the wind and found listeners outraged he was enabling a confessed rapist who was discussing how he seduced young children. Then he decided he needed to sound like Billy Badass and got tough with the caller - may have actually been one of the few times he cut a caller off and said so.

Juan

I just have to say that last night's interview of the Tesla Guy by Idiot Boy of Motor City was the worst C2C I've ever heard.

What an opportunity missed.  Tesla?  Ask some hard questions.  Know what Tesla was working on when he died and ask what the reincarnated Tesla has done to advance it.  The guy said he's gotten patents since the 1970s - ask what he's patented that folks would be familiar with.  The guy will prove himself Tesla or an asshat.

As it was, he proved himself a promoter of child abuse with the story of his son, age 3, and said son's 65-year old "wife."

I wish I could say sNoory is better than that, but he's not.

aldousburbank

I wanted to listen to the Flannagan interview but mumblebutt was such an asinine interviewer that it clicked my amygdala so violently backwards that I wanted to smash my C Crane Witness mp3 player.  Thus I am compelled to say:  Get off my airwaves you self-infatuated, greasy, gaseous, goober!

Peace.

I can picture George, assuming he was listening, perk up and glow thinking it was some sort of compliment.  'That's whut thuh show's about' I can imagine George saying, 'we like tuh throw yuh some curve balls, haw haw haw haw'.
