Looks like makings of a good show tonite, with cool topics of electronic surveillance and ancient legends.  It might be listenable if we get lucky and George goes into LMH low-interference mode.

Otherwise the suckage will likely counteract any coolness potential and it will be Xena Warrior Princess for me again tonite, which I can live with.

I have all six season on dvd, and I'm ready to start season 6... but it saddens me immensely that there was no Autolycus in the last two  seasons.

He actually got the name of the actor right as Louis Gossett Jr.  But he got the film title, "Stand and Deliver" wrong.

I've never seen that, but I really liked the movie about the Hispanic inner city high school calculus teacher.

See, I think he meant Edward James Olmos in Stand and Deliver.  Noory is making me lose my mind.  Thank god for July 20!  Maybe I'll watch "To Sir, With Love".

(Oh, there we are!)

I don't believe so. He mentioned that the character was a 'tough school principal' which fits the other film, Olmos played a kindly teacher.  He got the two titles mixed together.

Zeeb, when it comes to a Jorch show being listenable, remember the old saying about repeating something and expecting something different.  Don't become what you eat. ;)

Ah one of my fave actors, from both Evil Dead movies to Army of Darkness, Xena, Burn Notice and others.

I didn't hear it but the dude mixes things up so much who knows what he was really going for.  I'm gonna play it safe and assume he meant Ferris Beuller's Day Off.

I adore Bruce Campbell, and his books If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor and Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way are both awesome reads. Ash vs Evil Dead is going to be interesting when it hits Starz in October. My avatar has Bruce, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert who are all involved like they were with Xena and Hercules back in the good old days... and one can't forget The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. which was a fun show with a great cast that lasted one year. The people used the theme song for the damn Olympics after it got canceled too.  >:(

/Evil Dead is the greatest trilogy ever made.

I really like Canadian actor Bruce Greenwood.

I predict there will be no coup in North Korea in the next six months.

And what was with that creepy story about the poor lady whose husband committed suicide?

Gassy Man

"Cool kids" have always been bullies -- the whole idea of the social order is to keep everyone else down in order to stay up.  That includes viciously attacking those perceived kinder, weaker, or more vulnerable, both for personal gain and to make an example of those people for others.

I could see a coup in North Korea soon.  China, North Korea's benefactor, is sick of the insane Kim family.

Nah.  It's a dynasty there.  Kim is cleaning house to make a point -- and it's easier to deal with the monster you know than the one you don't.

And the Ferris's principal's sad, perverted aftermath as a pedo freak. Very C2C considering some other guests :'( also. But, I'm sure Norry would say it is a conspiracy. Then, again, Thats Hollywood!

Did George just mangle the word "communicating" in the C. Crane ad?

The average Noory show is sadder than karaoke night comprised only of songs by The Cure.

A wretched story. Very upsetting. But The Idiot has nothing to say about it. He doesn't have the guts to call out the stewardesses for their insensitivity, or the nous to link it to the other horrid story a couple of days ago about a plane that made an unscheduled landing to eject a passenger who was having 'issues'. The disruptive passenger was a teenage girl with autism that the blank face of officialdom could not cope with.
Noory has only one interest in the story: the pain of the woman.
And he followed it with the assassination of the North Korean official and followed it up with a teenage girl who committed suicide after being cyber-bullied. With each story, he has nothing to say, no issue to confront, no bigger picture to draw out or conclusion to draw, just the sordid details with no differentiation and barely a pause for breath between stories. Merely a recitation of misery.
One sick fuck.

I can't believe they played the whole damn Paul Anka tune, Put Your Head On My Shoulder!   I was sick of the song in the 70's when it was used a lot on Happy Days.  How does this song relate to Coast To Coast?  There's no mystery to it.  Its just a lame romantic song that Jorch should only use when he is trying to woo a female guest.

I have the timing down so I basically miss all of Noory's bumpers.  I can't risk hearing even the first few bars of "Don't Know Much About History" or "Breakin' Up Is Hard To Do" as I'm likely to go all "Hulk Smash" on my poor radio.

LOL. I've got a soft spot for Sam Cooke but I wish he would choose another song of his like Chain Gang.

Shows pretty interesting tonight. I've always been fascinated with the Anasazi Indians and the parallel universe theory.  I first read about it, in of all places, a couple of Louis L'amour Westerns when I was a kid.  I later wrote a short story for college, UGA, based on the legends.  Got an A+ on it.  The professor set me aside and told me I should write.  I didn't take her up on it though I played around with the idea for a little bit.  I'm too impatient to be a writer.  I wrote a couple of horror western stories. One of them was called The Wind.  Wind being a metaphor for the Grim Reaper aka Death.  It was very atmospheric. The wind blowing through the canyons and if you listened close enough you would hear the screams of the damned.

Now they're saying the dude may not have been executed.

Why would you say such a thing.  Has the program showed a marked improvement lately?

Edit: I'm wrong again, I'll blame it on Dave for bringing up the name "Stand By Me." "Stand and Deliver" is the film about the calculus teacher played by Edward James Olmos. Wonderful film.

The movie about the inner city school principal is "Lean on Me" with Morgan Freeman (who Dave correctly named.)

"Stand and Deliver" is also the name of a godawful song by Adam and the Ants.  Again, we can blame Dave for bringing it to mind.

And with that reference, I'm going to post this song.  Jorch, you can use it for a bumper next time LMH comes on.
