George is coming off very likable tonight believe it or not

They used to run Dean Edell following C2C on the station I listen to but have recently changed to those infomercials with "Dr" Michael Pinkus and the phony radio host with him. I'd rather listen to Dr Dean or Joy Browne than Snoory most nights now.

Quote from: b_dubb on January 13, 2011, 08:40:06 PM... and then suddenly starts talking in this weird voice and making odd gestures with her hands.  total circus bullshit.  i was amazed at how seemingly intelligent adults went right along with this act.

Right on. Take it from someone with decades of professional experience in public relations and public speaking.

I'll tell you something: Don't trust anyone who does a bunch of hand gestures when they speak. Why are they doing that? To distract the listeners, viewers or the audience from what they're actually saying.

It's a subliminal technique. Used to fool people unaware of what's going on. In that visuals distract from the message. Diverting you from dissecting the language. In any situation, if what someone is saying has any amount of credibility, they will place their hands on the table, or stand gripping the podium at worse.

When you meet with such fakes, always stop them to question why they move their hands like that. Ask them. I know the answer, and I bet they wouldn't admit to the real reason behind it.

I dunno.  Maybe in some cases.  In other cases it's cultural.  A lot of East Coast men who happen to be Jewish use a lot of hand gestures.  I've also noticed this in male Arab immigrants.  My Midwestern dad says that such hand gestures in men is effeminate.  Anyway, it might tick off a whole group of men if you said that they were deceptive sissies.  Women period tend to use a lot of hand gestures.

One of my fave professors ever used lots of hand gestures and was one of the most honest men who ever lived.  Just my .02.

And what's up with the coast commercials where Norry has a scripted "interview" with whoever is selling stupid shit. Last year it was Rosanne's time share or whatever in vegas, this year I heard it again several weeks ago with some other guy selling some shit to obsure to remember. Does Noory think we are functionally retarded or something?

Dearly Beloved

We are gathered here to mourn
the death of another c2c show.

Obituary: The 01/10/2011 show was not even half-way through its anticipated life, when it suddenly died from a virulent attack of the variable-mutant  "Could it be angels?" pathogen. The show was stricken without notice, and life lingered for only about a minute longer, before it succumbed, with its "death rattle" strongly resembling that of a loud "sucking" sound. Services are held, and respects given when you download the attached mp3.

To help ease the pain of listening, the interview is surrounded by Angel songs:

1) Bobby Helms "My Special Angel" (1957)
2) Lionel Richie "Angel"
3) The Corrs "Angel"
4) Sarah McLachlan "Angel"

Instead of flowers, monetary donations are being accepted to the "Bring Back Art Foundation." Make checks payable to HAL 9000. PayPal gladly accepted.

It is anticipated many deaths of c2c have resulted from this terrible pathogen in the past, and will likely continue to occur, so long as the One-Neuron Nooron continues behind the microphone. The only currently known cure are guest hosts or Art Bell reruns. Past copies of shows which contain deadly pathogens are gladly accepted, as well as any future clips, so as to perhaps start and maintain a canonical list of these shows, so future researchers and scientists can learn from this one onerous mistake.

My condolences.

Thanks for your input. I'm basing my view on what I know. I admit, growing up in the New York-New Jersey area, I didn't know people from the Jewish areas.

Yes, you bring up a good point. And I admit I've based my views on what I know. I can be wrong when it comes to reading people. Thanks for offering your two cents.

Actually, the OP didn't offer any remuneration - he offered you a number - .02

He could have used $0.02, or €0.02, or 2 cents, or more preferably 2¢. They are, of course, very close in real monetary value to the number .02.

Carry on.   :D

Nice one.  After 52 years of spilling vitriol, I think that I'll dodge that bullet.  There's some fights that I can't expend the calories to fight.

BTW, I HATED the Jerome Corsi segment last night.  With even Glenn Beck toning down his BS, George continues to be tone deaf.  Listening to Corsi, you'd think that the brown people were going to engulf the US.  Actually, righties should thank the Latinos, since their numbers have given Red States more representatives!

Actually, the immigration question continues to be a vexing and complex one.  I'm a granddaughter of an illegal immigrant.  Yet I'm not an idiot; countries have a right to control their borders.  Corsi completely ignored the fact that a clusterf*ck has hit Mexico.  We're funding the Mexican government's drug war, which was responsible for 14,000+ deaths LAST YEAR alone.  Not only are ordinary Mexicans being murdered by the drug thugs, but the Mexican military is using the war as an excuse to murder Mexican citizens they consider undesirable: the poor, the homeless, the weak and anyone else that they happen to dislike.

Actually, the flow of illegals has lessened a bit...although not to anyone's liking.  Increased immigration enforcement and the lack of jobs in the US serves as a disincentive.  There will come a time, however, when this most recent Mexican civil war will create a flood of refugees fleeing to the United States.

Then there are the US border states who are helping arm the Mexican civil war with their lax gun laws.

Not one word about this from Corsi.  And George, like every other weenie in the media, fails to challenge him.

bbwwwhahahaha!

Last night was a total shitshow, from Jerry, Jerome...or whatever the hell he is this week Corsi to an "expert" on Night Terrors whose knowledge seemed tapped after the first ten minute segment to the spiritual nutbag who called in towards the end to compare George to Mother Teresa and many other great people of the past. And how can I forget Dr. Richard Leer playing "Memories" on a pipe organ over the phone.

As Casey Kasem would say.......ponderous, man, f'ing ponderous.

One thing you'll notice about George is he loves to throw amens from the choir when Corsi or some nut spews his right-wing talking points, but if a guy mentions some liberal left TP, like global warming he goes silent and rushes him off the air, as he did with one of his first segment guests last night. George's "non-political" claim is bullshit. I mean, a guy who gets half his stories from World Nut Daily? Come on.......

 CALL OUT THE DOMINATRIX

Sweet fucking Lord, did anybody else hear what Noory said to Glynnis the Numbers Lady??????

Glynnis:  I TOLD you there would be outbreaks of public communication, I TOLD you to expect people to express themselves (yeah, I know),

GN:  (husky turned-on tone--swear to God, listen to it yourself on the podcast)  I love it when you say that.  It's like you are SCOLDING ME..garble garble

Glynnis:  (talking over him like every good Dom does) I TOLD YOU THESE THINGS....the numbers don't lie!

Noory was probably garbling his safe word while they were at it.  "Puh-leeze honey, we're on the air....oh, oh, it hurts so good!"

Fifty two years of spilling vitriol? Wow, that's a lot of vituperation. Sustained anger/vitriol can cause chronically high cortisol levels, which damage the body from within. I'd provide the links, but research is better retained by doing it one's self.

Instead of vitriol, try spreading the love of ASCII. Just my 2¢.

I figured that's why God made Sarah Palin.  :)

I once quoted Arthur Rimbaud on the day Bush II got re-elected and got a call from the Secret Service.  I didn't feel back about it back then, but I do now.  But then again, my Livejournal entries don't get any of the exposure that Glenn Beck does.

...Anyway agreed that that night terrors host was horrible.  He was a terrible speaker and didn't interact well with the guests.

George Noory is evolving in the fishbowl under our very watchful eyes.  Like particles that know they are being watched, I'm convinced he has dropped in here.  A poster said recently he was getting worse--people, that can only be self-consciousness working.  Whatever real attention he was paying, whatever real interest he had in these subjects has been blown downstream by his certainty that his critics are right.

As the audience rolls over, truck drivers become more rare as callers whereas they used to be the staple of whistleblowers, ala "Art, I drive a big rig right into the side of that mountain at least a couple of times a month.  Yeah, with deliveries.  Food, hardware, you name it.  Something's not right...."  Love it!  I want my truckers back, but alas...

Give me some feedback on this one:  I have noticed that George repeats what the guest said, and then adds a fill-in comment.  Like when the night terrors guy was on, he said "Blisters the size of baseballs?  That's large!"  It even annoyed the guest, who had an interesting topic, but was bland personality-wise.  Not to compare, but I'm going to compare.

Art would take a bland guest with an interesting subject and probe him.  He would bring out the inner fire.  I remember when he had a guest on who suggested that the Philadelphia experiment was testing invisibility and had nothing to do with time travel.  The two of them got into it about how legitimate was an experiment designed for one thing, which had an unintended result of something entirely different.  Art knew how many hours the ship lost, off the top of his head.

So, my question is this:  do you think George is filling time, padding, and why when there are SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Anagrammy

It's a good question.  I suppose this is really the best he can do.  And since the company doesn't care about the show, he's safe in a cushy job and needn't fear replacement or pressure to improve the quality.

valdez

While listening to George's interview with Christopher Steiner (who is one of those freaks that actually wishes that gas was ten bucks a gallon so we could all be forced to change our ways and be more like Europe, you know, with riots, and royalty, and more riots) and I wondered what must go on in the mind of a guess when he begins to sense that something is not quite right:  Didn't he ask me that question before?  Is he listening?  He did it again.  Same question.  Is this a joke?  Play it cool.  Don't laugh.  Angels?  Did he just ask me about f*% angels?

Anagrammy

So true.  I miss the truck drivers too.  Educated elitists look down upon them, but more often than not, truckers are intelligent folks who couldn't bear to sit through a lot of formal education.  Because they often don't learn the way the majority do, they often "think outside of the box."

Art also thinks outside of the box (phrase has been bludgeoned to death--but it fits).  Was listening to Somewhere In Time and the subject was Gulf War Syndrome.  Talk about speaking truth to power!  Art really hammered the government and its treatment of our veterans.  And this was in 1996!  Sure Amy Goodman was talking about the same subject on "Democracy Now," but when does Joe and Jane Middle America listen to socialist Amy Goodman on low-powered FM stations?

You wonder how many lives Art saved by letting Gulf War I vets know that this is a real illness, not some illusion inside of their heads.

I've mentioned before that I'm beginning to think George's little antedotes are pure bullcrap, tonight at the opening of his interview with quantum physicist Dr Amit Goswami (he seemed to have a lot to say, all wasted on George's over reaching, painfully self answering questions) George said he "ran into a guy the other day who came up and said, 'hey, George, whats quantum physics all about?"  And I'm suppose to beleive that somebody who knows George thinks he has a clue on quantum physics?

Exactly! Once again, I am screaming at my PC , "who gives a crap what you think George? - nobody, that's who!" as he's going on and on.  Especially the wasted time on the Roman Catholic Priests detour - that's George's latest rant, leftover from another show.  Ugh...and the so called 'friend' who is a hunter? Again? Spare us please. I was bracing for the story about the guy who is "bad energy".

Is there any other interviewer ANYWHERE on the planet, who starts every other question with the phrases "I think"  and "a friend of mine"?  Nuh Uh George, sorry.

Here is how someone can make an easy Million bucks $$$$$ Create a voice recognition program that interfaces with your iTunes or whatever, that automatically DELETES any sections containing George's voice. You'll get only what the guest has to say, it will shorten the listening time required and you'll sacrifice ZERO understanding of the content/substance of the show!

Congratulations on your canceling Streamlink.

Since you referred to the Ian vs. Quayle Smackdown, I'll give a bit of background.Probably about 2.5 years ago, I created a website that contained every c2c show for roughly the previous 3-4 years. Of course, I didn't pay for any of them - with some tenacity, one can find virtually anything you can think of - including c2c shows. I updated the site almost daily, until I came to my senses, and entered a state of Noorvana - the complete absense of Snoory in my life.

The shows I made available - exactly similar to the Ian/Quayle Smackdown - were only ONE file instead of the four that c2c sends out. What I did was, I wrote a little script that concatenated then renamed all original Podcasts into a single file for each show. I then retranscoded them so that they were significantly smaller than what c2c sends out - the original Podcast are roughly 60MB per show, vs. my shows averaged about 25MB.

So when you're listening to the Smackdown, or really any show I put up, they are always from the originals Podcasts, but I always retranscode them to save space, yet retain quality.

As an aside, I listened to about 20 minutes or so of the Smackdown, skipping around randomly, and found it to be one of the most compelling c2c shows I've ever heard - not so much for the content - though it is interesting to see how Quayle's predictions make him look like a buffoon, but because SOMEONE finally had the balls the actually challenge a guest - and I personally thought Ian did a great job and very politely.

So, finally to really answer your question, yes, it is possible to get the weekend shows for free. There are four popular methods:

1) torrents
2) other forums which "specialize" in sharing anything imaginable
3) request the shows you missed on this forum - there are lots of folks who would likely put them up somewhere for you
4) I wrote a little program, similar to the one in the Michio Kaku thread, which will automatically download the show from a radio station that archives the last 7 days of shows on a rolling basis. The only downside is their archives have commercials left in, but that's why you have a slider bar/FF on your player. A small price to pay for getting it free, and without using torrents or forums.

If you are unfamiliar with torrents or these "alternative" forums, then maybe the free archive scripts I wrote might be easier for you.

I'd prefer to communicate via PM, as when I had my c2c archive site running, I received an "innocent" Yahoo  email from some guy who asked me if I had a particular show on a certain date from 2003. I wrote back saying I did not, but I'd look for it for him.

The next day, I got an email back from the guy, THIS TIME, identifying himself as a Clear Channel attorney, and a letter that I close my site. I wrote back and kicked his little intellectual ass and mopped the floor with him. I'll post our correspondence here someday, with the appropriate stuff redacted.

OK, I think this is the longest post for a simple question I've ever written.
