Its been a couple of weeks since we've had some no holds barred, good old fashioned lunacy.  Without a shed of evidence, Micheal Ellegion commandeers three hours (one accompanied by his cohort in crime, Aurora Light) talking about how he was beamed into his mother's womb, then was visited by aliens who don't want us to destroy ourselves (oh, come on, why not?), and of the federation of planets, and how our solar system is teeming with other civilizations, and his book is called, "Prepare for the Landings!  Are You Ready?", which was shortened from, "Prepare for the Landings!  Are You Ready?  You Better Be, Because Aliens Are Comming and It's Going to be Freaky!"
George has started hawking some pill called Carnavoris.  It will boost your immune system.  It was used be Ronald Reagan.  George has no shame.  Just bring a bag of cash to the meeting.  Don't bore him with the details.  Just give him a script.  He'll read it with gusto.

Right on. Nothing like those in need of psychiatric "help."

Tonight's program was a disgrace to true thinkers. And a new low for Coast To Coast AM. Thank God for the overnight sanity of Fox-Sports Radio.

Only 20 days into the new year and we've already had some of the worst Coast to Coast programs I've ever heard  :-\ ...

i knew it was going to turdwreck when i saw channeling.  i'm proud to say i stayed away from it.  didn't listen to any of it.

do we need to form a recovery group to help us grieve for the shitty death of c2c?

I'm done. Art is gone, C2C is getting worse by the day, and I just can't take it anymore. There is nothing redeemable about these shows or worth listening to. C2C is for middle-aged women now.

Now, now, in defense of thinking middle aged women everywhere, I must object.  Actually, I made this point a while ago and the quality of programming and callers is making my case: the audience IS changing.  No more truckers and for-real whistle blowers waiting for the right topic night to call in.  As the programs dilute in content and meaning, they are becoming more PC and losing those of us who enjoyed the many layers of the Art onion.

If Art had a caller like the one the other night explaining about the Federation, he would have a field day with him, gently asking him to resolve certain inconsistencies.  He would as them questions like "So it's like a Mobius strip, right?" which is winking to the audience that he knows we know the guy is "talent."

I put the link to Michael's Art Bumper Music website on my browser toolbar and am planning to go back and listen to the old Art shows whenever I need a fix.  I haven't found anything to substitute --what are the rest of you doing with your nightowl time?

when toxicmop said that, you HARDLY came to mind, haha.  i think rather than simply using the word women, it would be have been more accurate to say "crazy, middle-aged neighborhood cat ladies."  and i think that's probably the spirit in which he said what he said.

Hi, I usually listen to the Kevin Smith Show from 10pm - 12 EST.. http://www.kevinsmithshow.com/

In my opinion, Kevin is a solid host and asks great questions, the ones that George do not ask. Kevin, unlike Noory, is

also intelligent and knowledgeable about paranormal topics .

I've been a listener for the past 3 and a half years and he's had a show since 2000. I've already turned on a couple

frustrated C2C listeners to Kevin Smith and they really enjoy his show.

Well I'd highly recommend taking in his show for a week and I can assure you that it'll be pretty damn sweet

I will attach a mp3 of a show or two or three hehe

Thank you, JEEYAHSUS!    I am beyond grateful...there's only so much trainwreck one can listen to and then the brain becomes mush. Why don't you open thread on alternatives to C2C and post this up there--then we can explore all options.  Michael's putting something together, some kind of super-archive with an index.  It would be fun to be able to post some of these guests up on their old quotes, wouldn't it.  BTW-- thinking of blunders, anybody got that last horrendous interview with Sylvia Brown?  The one that got her banned?

I admit I almost fell off my computer chair -- after getting coffee -- when I heard Mr. George Noory talk about the power of music, when it comes to snake charmers.

So much for science. All snakes lack external ears. All are deaf to airborne sounds, human voices and music. Mr. Noory doesn't understand that. But that doesn't keep him from advancing a theory to ignorant listeners.

Music has nothing to do with cobras. I once handled them and countless other species. They react and perceive only through changes in air density, and the movement of the "charmer" through visual stimulation.

Again, I forgive Mr. Noory. He's a broadcaster, not a scientist.

PC???  I guess.  George can get pretty un-PC, which is his right.  He doesn't believe that global warming is man-made (at least he acknowledges that it exists).  He's for Palestinian statehood...which could get him fired if AIPAC lobbyists had insomnia (not yet).   He seems to like to talk about nuclear bombs with neo-cons.  Tres un-PC.  Personally, I'm thankful that he hasn't seen fit to exhibit racism.

I'm surprised that no truckers called after the Corsi segment, since the subject directly affected them.  It was actually a really good segment.

When C2C hits bottom, I switch to Commie NPR (I'm being sarcastic).  My local National Petroleum Radio Station runs the BBC feed all night.  BBC even has sports coverage.  It's gotten to the point where the US MSM is so bad that a lot of Americans listen to/watch BBC.  The Beeb knows it because they cover sports that Europeans don't give a fig about, like US football!

just curious ... what kind of dogs?

Dogs in general, but I am particularly intrigued by smart, large dogs.  I have owned several German Shepherds, one who saved my son's life when my son was 18 months old and the dog was 5 and had only been in my home for a few months.

I lived in San Jose at the time and we had perk ponds in the back.  I was walking with the children and assumed the toddler was with one of the teenagers.  We got home and --no dog and no baby!  I ran back to the ponds, just frantic.  There was the baby, trying to get down to the water crawling, and there was the female German Shepherd patiently blocking his path to the water with her body.  He moved around her and she just repositioned herself.   She had me with the thinking, the judgment.

I am not big on small dogs and since I live in a small apartment, I have to wait to go blind before I can get a large dog again!

Are you a dogman?  (heh heh)

i am.  i have a pointer mix (shelter rescue - no history really .. just speculation).  she's got a ton of energy which means i go to the dog park.  where i see all kinds of dogs.  the Tibetan Mastiff being the most unusual.  it's a good opportunity to people watch too.  sometimes the dogs seem more intelligent than their owners.  or at least not as maladjusted.

I knew Snoory was warming up for his favorite topic (Angels) last night when he asked his first guest, some currency dude: "How much does a bag of coins weigh?"
That was preceded by a caller who wanted to know if she could retire on $25 worth of silver coins.
Any questions about the state of C2C and its' audience?

That stockbroker dude was like one long infomercial last night.  All he could talk about was hawking gold.  I'm sure that most of you are aware that all of the world's gold can be put in two Olympic-sized swimming pools.  So a lot of that gold has GOT to be fake.  I'm beginning to think that George, like Glenn Beck, likes apocalyptic subject matter so that his audience will be frightened into buying gold.

I'll say one thing for Beck, he's smart about hawking food.  I can see more use in having food as an investment rather than gold.

I hope that mankind goes to other planets and finds gold there so that the world will be flooded with it and gold investment becomes an even bigger fail.

Another Noory flub - pronounced Halle Berry as "Holly" Berry doing the news segment this morning.  I also heard him pronounce Wikileaks as "Weak-e-leaks" before he figured out what it really was. This guy is dumb as a sack of hammers. (Yeah, I know I am being petty, but Noory has it coming.)  >:(

Not petty at all, but rather a very important part of Snoorology.  A few days ago George said "contracted" when he meant "contacted", and "intimidate" instead of "imitate", and I'm 98% certain that a few weeks ago he said "liki-weaks".  I love how he never corrects himself.  "No need to," he was once known to have said in an interview, "only a two bit weatherman from Tupelo Mississippi corrects himself.  My focus is on the future, and the future is coming."
Tonight's show with Giorgio A. Tsoukalos was harmless, but the idea that humans became intelligent by way of some alien genetic tinkering is kind of insulting to humans.  We crawled out of the oceans.  We mastered fire.  We utilized tools and built great cities and conquered space.  Period.  End of story.  No need for meddling two bit aliens, and, most importantly, no need for megalomaniac, wind bag, two bit spin hustlers like Keith Olbermann.  Joy.  The universe is just.

does it follow then that George believes in angel farts?  and angel piss?  just wondering ...

i think the $25 bag of silver coins would be best appraised by a numismatist and not a hack talk radio host.  George would tell her to melt it down and send it to his friends at goldscam.com.  who would send here a $1 coupon for SubWay
