It depends on how you look at it.  You're looking at share of income.  If you look at share of total revenue the top 10% of earners pay something like 70% of income tax revenue.  The bottom 50% pay around 2-3% or so.  From that perspective it's hardly a regressive tax regime, and yet the left continues to villify high income earners as not paying their fair share.  If George had a clue about anything he might have actually contributed to a worthwhile debate, instead of just getting smacked by liberal talking points and changing the subject like a wuss.

Anyway, I respectively would request that this conversation be redirected to the Politics thread, so we can get back to less frustrating issues like ufo cover-up conspiracies and chupacabra sightings.

The "Fair Tax" completely flips it, making the lowest earners bizarrely pay the most taxes.

And George Noory sucks!  That's why he's in support of the Fair Tax.

I will not say anymore about the political hack that was on last night.  And yes hacks come from both the right and left.  I lean to the right but would probably consider myself a Libertarian Constitutionalist.   In other words, you do you're thing and I'll do mine and we can promise to butt out of each other's lives.  That also means I want the smallest central govt. possible.  Outside of defense, leave the important stuff to the state and local govts.  They can do it better with less waste.

So it's a birthday party for George, huh?  Bell would be embarrassed by something like that.  But not George, he's a prince in his own mind and accepting homage from all is part of what he feels is his due.  I might listen to the "news" for some laughs but the group asskiss I'm going to do without.

One thing I think is plain to see:  George is clearly a believer in extremist Christian millennialism.   He seems to identify with and strongly agree with those guests and has them on frequently.  In fact, he's a very rigid, unspontaneous kind of guy. Same old thing, same old format night after night, year after year.  He sounded bored reciting that poem "A soldier died today," on Memorial Day, but he did it, cuz it's what he does every year and that can't change.

He's not real bright and holds very closely to a tightly defined belief system and won't change his mind no matter what the evidence, i.e. global warming.  So you're never going to see anything resembling "balance" from this guy. 

Which makes him the worst possible host for Coast to Coast.
