Guys, was just watching Masterchef USA and it hit me:  Art Bell is the Gordon Ramsay of radio.  George Noory?  The Guy Fieri of radio.  Guy and George suck so bad that they don't even deserve air play.

Not an altogether bad analogy.Both George and Guy are big phonies.I remember Guy on a cooking show with a woman chef and she asked him if he liked spaghetti and he said " Duh,I`m Italian!". The truth is the dude`s about as Italian as Noory;the little doughball just changed his last name to Fieri.

I think I would love to hear Linda M.H. host every day of the week...  I don't know who would ask her inane questions to prompt her to push the 'play' button on her tape recorder...  But then she'd have a cushy Hawaiian studio, my Ouiji (sp) bored just spit out the name Joan who lives by the ocean somewhere around there, maybe that one could run the sound bored...

George sucks, six or seven years of lame has got to end.  Linda would be a welcome change I guess...

I haven't had the radio on to hear sNooron for the past week or so, and it seems that the dog with cancer is breathing easier...  And the puppy doesn't spaz out in the middle of my sleeping time so much...

Please note:  I didn't turn the radio off because I couldn't take the punishment anymore, I am strong.  I was worried about my dog-pack's health, and it does seem to be improving without the audible toxins at night...  Better than toomeric is turning the radio off...

and yes, Noory does suck, I don't need the nightly reminder of it to know that...

Puppy totally hates me becuz I won't let him poop in the house, I think he learned the habit from audible pollution, since turning the radio off at night he has made it closer and closer to the door to the outside with his 'accidents' (I don't believe in 'accidents' either)

Coast was on in the background for an hour while I cleaned last night and I heard some gold selling, gold pushing idiot from Lear (Leer?) capital tell us about inflation and Georgie telling us all to buy gold again.  Now, I am not saying that it is a bad idea (do your own research.)  However, I find it hilarious and fitting that the day after Georgie runs the undoubtedly paid for infomercial portion of his show (without admitting that is what it is) gold falls to a 3.5 month low.

Great timing George!  You and your guest offered great advice yet again for the stupid sheep who might follow your program.

I wonder, it's a given that a lot of people here at BG dislike Noory, and mostly for a small few of the same reasons, but is Noory aware of these complaints, and if he is, why isn't he learning from it?  Even Art Bell has listened to his fans and responded, at least Art cares and addresses the issues, Noory just barrels forward through the hazy fog, like a stoned parrot headed to it's doom.

My contempt for Nooron isn't meant to be mean spirited and hateful, but it's because of the Nooron's poor spirited behavior and hypocracy.  Noorey uses his position to spread falsehoods, lies, and ignorance that does real damage to people's lives, and does is unapologetically.  For instance, his assertions that immunizations cause autism, when now we know the real cause of autism increasing is because older men are fathering a much greater portion of the babies out there, and that men my age produce defective sperm, a 55 year old man should NOT be making babies, and he's a selfish SOB if he is doing so, there are plenty of needy kids to adopt out there.

Noory called Hummus "humdus" the other night.  What a fucking idiot.  He's part, what, lebanese or whatever, and he doesn't know what hummus is?  Shit, I'm English, Scotch, German, Lithuanian, and I make my own hummus about once a month for crying out loud.  Noory pushes ideals and politics when he has no clue what he is talking about, most of the time.  He just isn't very bright.  One should be qualfied for the job they do, or try and get the training and knowledge ASAP.  Noory won't make such effort, and that is why I hold him in such contempt.  If he were a medical doctor and was such a dumbass I'd hold him in contempt for that.  If he was an electronics engineer that didn't know what a Schmitt Trigger is, I'd hold him in contempt.  He's a radio person and doesn't know his trade and refuses to put forth the effort to try, and adds insult to injury by spreading falsehoods, such as his ideas about immunizations, that do horrible harm.  If he was my neighbor, I'd want to punch him in the nose, that's how much he angers me.  He's a jerk and an idiot and he does the nation real harm.

Yeah, I heard, somewhere (here?) that Fieri's name used to be spelled and pronounced like "fairy" and he's got a homo complex so he changed his name.  Freaking loser, my own son is gay, so that pisses me off.  But what pisses me off more is how the food network has gone with this guy, he's on for hours almost every single day, and he's the worst cook they've ever had.  Diners and drive ins.  A show that promotes America excess and fatness with filming of hamburgers the size of cow patties.  Fucking idiot.  Him and Noory are both frauds and that is what angers me.  Honest people like me know enough to not try and take a job they aren't qualified for, but those two, well...

I no longer watch the  food network, its gone to hell.  The best food show ever is on CNN (Bourdain's program where he travels the world, even horribly dangerous places, and we learn not just about food, but cultures and ways of life).  In fact, several other networks still have good food shows, PBS, Travel, CNN, others, but foodtv is crap.  It angers me to see a business squander it's bully pulpit, if you are lucky enough to own a business, you damned well should be doing good with that business, or let someone else have a go at it.

We have had 1550+ pages of waiting for his doom.I`ll save you a little consternation-it ain`t happening! We have had many good posters such as yourself fall into the Noory black hole of suckage never to be heard of again.Like you I used to get angry about the show especially as compared to when Art ran it until I started paying more attention to just George for his endless comedy value.I know this might not be your cup of tea but it`s a coping mechanism-it`s all we got.

I took several electronics courses back in tech school 18 years ago, so my recollections are what they are, faint.  You study your ass off but in order to do real work, you have to get back up to speed (and I'm back in school, yuppers!)  I don't know law terms, otherwise I'd have used a lawyer for an example...

No Reservations.... Parts Unknown... both are good Bourdain shows... I like Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern as well.  Best show Food Network had was Good Eats.  I like how he explained the processes going on... Alton Brown's pancake recipe was indeed the best I've ever had.

After two great shows with Knapp, hearing George last night was like a punch in the gut. Last night here was an example of the damage C2C does to sincere people just looking for answers, but not bright enough to realize they will never find them on C2C. A caller bared his soul to Betsey Lewis about his tragic life. She dismissed his pain and responded with a pat answer straight from the Esalen Institute's book of propaganda. He was creating his problems with his negative thoughts, and he could change his life with the wave of a wand, by changing his thoughts.

This reminded me of the cruelest exchange I ever heard on radio. Noory had a guest several years ago - don't remember the name - who could communicate with the dead. This man explained that people who had harmed others in their last lifetime were separated from loved ones after death, as they spent time in an unpleasant place where they would remain until they had paid for their deeds, or their victim forgave them. A young woman called to say that her grandmother had abused her when she was alive, and she felt this same grandmother (now dead) was trying to communicate to her in dreams, requesting forgiveness. Noory completely commandeered the question. He brow-beat the woman, saying that a grandmother would not abuse a grandchild. In his typical clueless, boorish way, it was obvious he thought that since he loves his family so much, then no-one else could possibly have mean, rotten family members who they didn't like, or want anything to do with. When he was smugly ready to end the call, he forced the caller to agree with him. He said: "now, your grandmother didn't REALLY abuse you, did she?" The caller responded in a feeble voice: "no, I guess not." You could tell she thought Jorch was an idiot, and regretted calling. Once again, Mr. Sympathy had saved the day, and had FORCED the answer he wanted from this unfortunate young woman. I felt physically ill after listening to this. It was talk radio at it's absolute worst.

Alton's new show Cutthroat Kitchen can be pretty funny. It's interesting to see how the chefs overcome the obstacles they're given. Good Eats was a great show.  Just about anything Bourdain does is worth watching. I liked his books too.

Bizarre Foods is pretty good as is Bourdain. The one I could not stand was that Man Vs Food. "Watch me eat this ten pound burrito" It was disgusting.
