Wow. Just tuned in 10 minutes ago and what an interesting conversation. I love old horror, sci-fi and especially the Twilight Zone. Quite an improvement over Snorge's painful Friday open lines. Even the callers seem smarter.

Maybe PremRat wants to use Saturday to trial run hosts to replace Noory.  Mars may be closer than you think, Jorch.  ;)

If that is the case, it is my fault that Wells is gone, I sent an e-mail cc'd to my local station program director, that said in short that L. moldy howl & S(tm)noory were hacks that could BARELY read 3x5 index cards with their own thoughts (as if), and that Wells was way better radio just on his diction (I know I typed 'diction' bweh-heh-heh)   and if PremRad knew it's business it would fire the gnoor and hire Wells for a full-time gig as host...

I don't know what I was thinking.  Maybe I thought that I'd hear complaints about how Wells was a cogent speaker.  Maybe I thought that I would hear complaints about how Wells' conspiracy theories were so much more believeable than Arts because Wells asked them to explain themselves better than Art could have done...

I dunno, what do you think?  Wells would have done better than a comatose gnoron?

I think a comatose gnoron woke up for half a sec and realized his pizza roll budhjet (sp) was about to collapse!

^Now, that's craa-see.  Why are pip-le so craa-see?

;D  Well, we are in WA State where it's legal.

Now that Well you are 'taliking' about is a deep subject indeed.

Lol this thread is so damn funny. I don't 'like' Noory but I don't hate him probably even 1/1000th as any of you here! He's a decent host, what more do you want? Better hosts like Art have a massive ego who just want to come and fuck off as soon as they possibly can. My favourite was Ian but very sad case there with his tinnitus.

But on a light note I love reading all the hate mails! xD Read about 200 pages past 3 hours, and therefore I'm not gonna ask anyone to stop :D

I personally don't care whether 'Art' or sn'Noory' have a bigger ego than the other, it is like measuring my 'ego' vs. either of theirs.  What it comes down to is this; 'can I do better than "art" or "cash-the-check"?

I doesn't matter what I do better than, I have a HUGE radio personality, I just haven't chosen to yet describe it to you...   We all know by now that it is the description of one's radio personality that matters....

some have length...

some have girth...

some have that Jedi wiggle power of radio (which I possess, but do not record because of it would be an awesome display of power)...

Anyhow, I digress.  What was I 'taliking' about?  I dunno, something about inadequacy.  Currwent host have this in spades.

That seems unfair, I don't know that the current host ever attempted to say the word 'current' and mangled it that badly.  I apologize...

I should provide references in the future...

Does your name rhyme w/the stinky cheese called "Limburger"?

pate

Better the devil you know, or somesuch?

At least Wells had a conviction to deconstruct, vs. your holy hate avatar of S(tm)noory.  I grant you that Wells is a worse host than sm(tm)Art;  will you grant me that Wells is better than S(tm)noory?

I should couch my argument in other terms.

Peppermint Ice Cream > Vanilla

Rocky Road > Vanilla

Chocolate Cookie Dough > Vanilla

Pecan Praline > Vanilla

French Vanilla > Vanilla

Lots of Ice Cream flavors up there...  I submit that S(tm)noory = Vanilla

The guy is the BIGGEST loser and manages to knock of the next-BIGGEST loser?

Seems to me the guy is the BIGGEST loser and we could have done better...

Not trying to guess what you are talking about, but you can call me 'Rumplestilskin.'

Anyhow, your name is something like Brunschnaz or something that rhymes or is easily translatable?

Good Show!  Again, I say Good Show!

I like you.  You remind me of Eeyore.  Or ole' MacDonald (bless his soul), he had a farm full of them ignorant critters, but he still fed them and cared for them...

As I recall, neither Eeyore or ole' MacDonald cared much about who liked what or whether 'they' approved of his opinion (or indeed shared his opinion).

I guess we sort of know Eeyore's opinion, but has anyone asked Ole' MacDonald what he thinks?

We should ask L. moldy howl "investigative journalist" (paranormal) what Ole' MacDonald has to say about this.  I think it should be a topic for the next show...

--edit changed "...ask l. moldy howl..." to "...ask L. moldy howl..."

I had high hopes for this new guy but his jab us with vaccines comment, and the hole in the Pentagon that didn't fit the outline of the wings that should have been on the front lawn "thought" lost it for me. I'm sure he'll please others, however. I mean to say, it's fine to agree with the callers from time to time but you shouldn't be required to hand over your mind to them, too.

So, I am in Virginia and my snowball turned black. Yikes!
A google search turned up an explanation of soot forming on the outside while the melted snow is absorbed towards the center of the snow mass. Hmmm. I just don't know. And I was a Lit major, so science-y things are not my forte.

This guy is getting some terrible callers.
I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe I jinxed it earlier by saying the callers sounded smarter tonight. Oops.
Open lines with Art used to bring in so many interesting calls. Even the crazy ones were great, maybe because he knew how to steer them. I used to love open lines, now I dread them :(

Art spent a lot of time creating a strong caller base and sense of community. Open Lines was up and down, but people were invested in the "story" of Coast to Coast.

Syrett and the callers are fighting for airtime. He has had at least 4 callers where the caller just kept going and Syrett and the callers were talking over each other. It reminds me of Knapp's show-opener of "cacophony of sound".

After all these years, it was interesting to see that mentality again. No different, but this time in writing for reply. On public display in writing is how I've liked it for a long time now. Good judges or modertors are priceless though.

I like LMH too (or should I use Noory's never-ending phrase:  as well).

Yep, she talks quickly and is completely skilled in shutting Noory off while continuing on with her presentation.  I love it!

Yeah I've enjoyed when LMH is on.  She has interesting/spooky/weird topics and her even rhythmic interviewing style always puts me in a kind of pleasant semi-hypnotic state.

This host and guest are actually quite entertaining...
Agreed. Canadian guy Richard Syrett fills in for George and conducts a decent interview with horror and Twilight Zone aficionado, Chris Alexander.  Cool stuff.  I dug those old Hammer flicks and collected the Famous Monsters of Film land mags, as well as something called the Monster Times when I was a wee tot.  Memories.  I'll have to check out this "I am Legend" flick they were taking about that was George Romero's inspiration for Night of the Living Dead.  So a few nights ago I hear Clyde Lewis talking about the snow and the government and I'm thinking, this is nuts, and tonight Syrett gets a slew of open line callers talking about the snow, and how it doesn't melt when you put a flame to it, and I'm thinking, this is really nuts.   So many people are so ready to find a conspiracy in everything.  Such a huge market for this stuff.

The callers are stupid because it is the audience that the Snooron has cultivated for us. These are the people his stupidity and vapidity have reaped. It won't improve until Snooron is gone and someone with a brain and caring what he/she does comes in and does a thorough cleansing and exorcism of C2C.

Exactly, and with his traits abetted by the screeners keeping out anyone who might not make Georgie sound wise by comparison.

The fundamental flaw in that thinking is that Wells was never a real host; he consistently tried to make the show about him and to jam the topic into his paranoid world template. Noory does this too, but not nearly to the extent that Wells did.  As for the intimate voice, it's a priority if one is selling something. But a talk show should, above all, be about content, not the packaging.

Cant wait to hear Syrett.   Been an avid listener to his Conspiracy show podcast.

he reminds me a lot of the Red Ice Radio guy -  extremely intelligent, asks good questions and makes the show about the topic in hand, not about himself.

The snow really isn't melting though, kids, even when you light it on fire!

Speaking of exorcisms. Tuesday:

Exorcism/ Grief
Date:   02-04-14
Host:   George Noory
Guests:   J. Patrick Rick, David Kessler
First Half: A former brother in Alexian Novitiate Monastery in Wisconsin, Patrick Rick, will discuss a possession case and exorcism which took place at the original Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis in 1949, as well as other noteworthy events which occurred at the Abbey.

2nd Half: Grief expert David Kessler will discuss his work with the dying, and his interviews with eyewitnesses who have reported a number of common patterns of deathbed experiences. He'll also cover how grief and loss come in many different forms including the end of relationships, employment, and even the process of aging.

GEORGE, I'm gonna help you with this one. This is your chance to ask Patrick Rick if he can talk about why the Alexians sealed off that exorcism room in that hospital and left it intact. They also sealed Father Halloran's diary of the whole ordeal in there.

Read more about it here: http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/2013/10/31/the-exorcist-st-louis-linda-blair-thomas-b-allen/3322617/

"The ordeal ended at the old Alexian Brothers Hospital in South St. Louis. The room where it ended was sealed off for years and kept intact, with the 29-page diary still in a desk drawer in the room. (Thomas B.) Allen (author of "Possessed") says the infamous diary of the spellbinding episode was found accidentally by a construction worker when that part of Alexian Brothers was being demolished (Alexian Brothers is now St. Alexius Hospital). Eventually, the hospital gave the diary to Fr. Halloran, who then made a copy for Allen.

Allen still can't quite grasp why the Alexian Brothers sealed the room, preserving the memory of the exorcism and the diary.

"They kept the room as it was and they kept the diary in there. Years after it ended," Allen said this week. "Supposedly, there is some information available from the Alexian Brothers that has material on this. I've never seen it, I hope to see it someday."

That's your cue, George! You've got a former Alexian on the show! If he doesn't know, say "I'm sorry, we have no time for you or your book," and hang up on him.

He's also spent a significant amount of time working as a Bill Clinton impersonator. Ask him how in the hell he can go from a monastery to the fake White House and back. And we'd like to hear his best "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." You can't let that opportunity slide.

Then ask him why Linda Blair is being such a little bitch about the whole thing. Sheeeeesh, these people always want to kill the thing that made them famous. She and Vanilla Ice. Ungrateful.

(From the same KSDK article:)

This week, we asked the star of the famous movie, Linda Blair, if she believes demonic possession is possible.

Blair, who's grown accustomed to the question, laughed it off and insisted people misunderstand the book and the movie. The actress says the story is simply a metaphor about good versus evil and added people who have grown obsessed with possession "need to get a life".

Hit me up if you need more questions. As you can see, I have absolutely nothing better to do all day. Every day.

It won't last forever, though. Feb is my month.  :-*

FallenSeraph
