So I sent George and email and asked him why he had Oates on after Bell had banned him. I asked George if it was retaliation against Art for calling him lazy.

George's response:

Are you an idiot?
Ah, back to Dave being Dave.  Somehow this seems a little more natural than an attempt to converse with the "haters."

That's exactly what he's asserting.  The building owner had a doctor appointment that day but was at work every other day?

That's pretty amazing. The year after I left elementary school, they shut the school down to remove asbestos. I am so lucky the district didn't choose to crash a 747 into it, especially since we were like 15 miles from Boeing's test field where any number of 747s were available any time day or night. I should call in and tell my story.

Yeah, but we're talking about the monster, and you know everyone rebels against their maker. And who knows where his parts came from?  I saw a movie where they saved Hitler's brain.

Frankenstein adopted his creation. They shared the same last name. The monster even had a Bar Mitzvah thirteen years after he was made. He took on the political beliefs of the "donors", so his views seemed varied and schizophrenic. (my theory, which is not to be confused with the historical version of events)

All the 9-11 conspiracy nuts are going off on Coast's FB page if youre into that kinda thing lol.

Too bad he didn't take calls in the first hour. I was all ready to float my theory that 9/11 was perpetrated by Mexicans.

"Nobody's talkin' about this, George. They fooled us all these years, they fooled us good."
Actually, it was an Icelandic plot... However, being as the Mexicans were in on it, I would have loved to have heard Marianne explaining the politics behind it to George.  It would have been even better to get one of his canned responses such as "exactly" or "that's right" in response.

George recently said he 'developed' Alex Jones from this show.  Maybe when Art is back this show can be known as Alex Jones Plus because truthers will be the only listeners left once Art returns next week.

Wells must be happy.

Oops didn't see this before my own Coast FB update. They're really out in full force and I don't think many of them understand it might be disrespectful to talk about that on the anniversary, or just after I guess seeing its 1:47AM

The term "conspiracy nuts" ought to be redefined as the people who actually do the conspiring.

Tonight’s show is very disrespectful IMO.

I was very surprised that he would do a show like this tonight. He's always been so tactful in the past.

Most of his shows are. They insult your intelligence.

Guest: "Glad to be back."
George Noory: "You too." (actual quotes from tonight's program)

I've often wondered if he's on medications that prevent his brain from clicking in succinctly.

I'm listening to Phil Hendrie right now on KXL out of Portland.  At times his voice sounds so much like Art's it is eerie.  But since I don't have the patience to deal with stupidity tonight, it's Phil on my radio instead of c2c.

I think this perfectly reflects PremRad's attitude. And I think it reflects reality as far as Sirius not being a direct competitor to commercial radio. I think C2C will get along like it has been, a mediocre show hosted by a genially incompetent host who doesn't terribly offend most people; and any changes which may occur in the future will have little to do with Art's presence in a very small, upscale market.

My initial musings on this matter were not so much over what PremRat has allowed c2c to become now, but what it allowed it to become *before* -- at that time back in, what, 1998, when Art first started having "retirements."  Art has hinted (on FB) that the retirements were not exactly of his own express wishes; paraphrasing his comment on FB, he indicated that he eventually would tell the story of all his "so-called retirements" and to me it seemed he was hinting that it seemed to have something to do with Premiere.  You just have to shake your head over a company that would not do their utmost to keep a talent like that happy and content so that they would keep him in place and thereby keep the listenership of the show high, thereby enabling them to charge more for advertising (since, with companies like Clear Channel, at least, it is all about the bottom line:  not the artistry or cultural importance of doing a truly great radio show).  There's a story there that Art hasn't told yet that I think will explain a lot.

Maybe they just didn't work hard enough to keep him happy because they don't care about that late night time slot, and those people, the fringers, that are up to the wee hours listening to a radio show really don't matter to them (to keep as an audience).  That somehow they just write that time slot off and don't expect it to bring in "ratings."  That, if it does, it's nice for them, but that overall it doesn't matter all that much in their business scheme of things (whatever that is).

Any show that trashes the Patriot Act can't be all bad.

As awful a host Noory is, he actually does some of his best work during this kind of show. But anything paranormal/UFO related, he naps throughout the show.

I sometimes think he wouldn't be half-bad as a host if he did a political show instead of Coast to Coast.

UFQuack

You see how he's actually paying attention during this type of show, I don't think the man is interested at all in UFOs and the paranormal, seriously. He's out of his element.

Makes me wonder if they thought Art was just too much trouble - disagreements on show direction, guests, topics, amount of ad time per show, etc. Sounds as if PremRad intentionally made the whole situation so disagreeable to Art that he left - the old corporate trick of "running them off". So much easier to get a go-along guy who is so grateful for the job he wouldn't dare buck management. Revenue might suffer a little, but the new guy's salary would be much less, and the execs wouldn't have to spend any time fighting the new host. And thus was born The Creature.

Heidi Boghosian talked about lawyer Lynne Stewart and said that her prosecution was by Ashcroft in order to teach progressive lawyers to think again about who they took on as clients.
Simple George, of course, asked her no questions about this, not challenge her.
Lynne Stewart was the lawyer for The Blind Sheik - Omar Abdel-Rahman.  He was convicted of plotting to bomb a number of places in New York City.  He was imam of the mosque in New York that was attended by Ramsey Yousef and others who were responsible for the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.  He also lead a terrorist group in Egypt that murdered 54 foreign tourists in 1997.  He's also accused of issuing the fatwa to have Anwar Sadat killed. The Sheik's usual way of working was to deliver messages to others instructing them to murder.

Lynne Stewart was caught delivering messages from Rahman to a terrorist organization.  She was tried and convicted and disbarred.  She was later tried for perjury and convicted of that, too.
That's a far cry from a political conviction.

Massimo Mazzucco  gets a few points for laughing at George early in the segment, and for having a cool name (I'll bet his friends call him "Maximo!"), but otherwise it was the same old truther crap.  Actually, he introduced a couple of new points I had not heard before, like maybe the towers were brought down because replacing the asbestos was too expensive, and that gravity had nothing to do with the towers falling.  More irritating was "grass root organizer," occupy fan, and friend of traitorous lawyers, Heidi Boghosian, who, during her two hour rant against our most impressive surveillance state, mentioned those "people who brought us torture."  But she wasn't referring to the torture endured by those on that fateful Tuesday morning that had to decide between burning to death or jumping out of the window of the world's tallest building, or the torture of those calling their loved ones from a plane they knew was now a missile seconds away from it's target, or the torture of those trapped in the rubble slowly dying.  No.  She wasn't talking about that.

I believe Lynne Stewart ultimately got a 10 year sentence for providing material support to terrorists.

This Sheik  - Omar Abdel-Rahman - is very important to the Moslem Brotherhood, and to the terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda and others that they have influenced.

In one of Mohammed Morsi's first speeches as President-elect of Egypt, he promised to seek the release of the Blind Sheik.  As President he continued to call for the Sheik's release.  If we didn't know before, this told us everything we needed to know about Morsi and his government.

One rumor from the Benghazi mess is that having failed to gain his release, the reason for the attack was to grab our ambassador and swap him for the Sheik.  So far just speculation.

Wells must be happy.

This does not explain the news report that I saw on You Tube saying that there were multiple reports in NYC at the time that a missle hit the Twin Towers.

And after 12 years why has the government NOT released the tapes they confiscated from a nearby store that shows whatever hit the Pentagon on that date, a tape that supposedly shows a missle hitting the building and NOT a jet, from what I've heard.

And one poster is correct & will have to be dealt with as he/she knows too much.

9/11 was a Mexican plot but not by anyone you would think.

Speedo Gonzalez, Speedy Gonzalez's cousin and black mouse of the family was behind the entire event.

Seems like Speedo is the 2nd fastest mouse in all of Mexico and he finally snapped because Speedy kept getting all the hot babes who are on Sabado Gigante and Mexican soap operas, while he kept getting Speedy's leftovers and would be hangers on.

Speedo also got tired of everyone saying :

So we had this beautiful show, Coast To Coast that explored the " could be", the "maybe" of life. The outer fringes, the desert frontier of life. Indeed, occasionally the hidden truth of life. With humor, insight and curiousity.

PremRat takes over and runs its origanator out, with a noncompetition clause.

PremRat installs a pretender, a second best, a this will do moderator.

The rest of us are left wondering what the hell happened. We quickly realize the lack of depth, the indifference, the lack of  creativity and substance of this old new creature. Over the years, careful polite letters are written to PremRat. Point for point examples given that no objective person could possibly ignore. But ignored they are. The frustration and anger builds with the lack of any articulate reponse from PremRat.

In time, the answer becomes clear. This is what PremRat wants. It is not that they do not know. They know. In fact they will it.  In fact they delight in it. And they in their absolute arrogance, detest anyone pointing out its deficiencies.

Theories, theories, theories, and not a right answer among them. The dolphin neglected work a bit too much and now is running short on a deadline, so I must go . . . for a while. But don't let your guard down. On dark nights while listening to Bell you'll hear Eeeeeeeee! Eeeeeeeee! Eeeeeeeeee! in the distance. When you do, remember it is only a matter of time before dolphins evolve opposable thumbs and then mankind will rue the day he heard the word porpoise. And unlike you, we LIKE George Noory.
I think a review of the history of posts by this person will reveal a degradation of faculties.  Seeming morphing from an agent provocateur into some sort of character.  Eeee!  Eeee! Eeee! indeed.

Not saying I agree with him; just reporting.  That's a brazen accusation to make.

There are many stories of people who missed the plane or didn't go to work.  They are interesting because they help me accept when things don't seem to go my way; there may be an unseen advantage. Does that make sense? These people seem to have a new appreciation for life.  They just better not say they were chosen special cuz that is just plain offensive.  It's fine to appreciate a gift.

Perhaps it's all part of that mass conspiracy by people behind the curtains to keep the plebeians dumbed down; to prevent them from thinking outside the box and questioning things too much (or, if they must question, have them questioning things that don't matter a jot).  Art's show was a sort of meeting point that had very intelligent people questioning what was really going on in our reality, it was very high profile, and maybe it couldn't be allowed to continue.

Well, it gets a chance to continue on its quest, and in a way that might truly work this time as Art has a company behind him that believes in his talent and will allow him free rein.  I am ready for that ride.

We all know that Art pushed back against how many commercials that PremRat wanted Art to air on the show.  Perhaps that alone was reason for them to make things as uncomfortable there for him as they could, so that they could cause him to no longer even want to be there, and then they could run the show they'd bought their way and in the fashion that makes the most money for them but gets in the way of the quality of the show itself.

But before we do, I really hope Art tells the story, either all at once or in bits and pieces over several shows.  I think he's torn between wanting to and just letting it go.
