George pretends he has 9 callers on hold by rambling a list of cities/states and has to keep bringing Tommee on because noone is calling.

That's what really gets me. The claims that he has millions of listeners, but somehow four regulars get on in the first half hour. How is that possible. Local radio has more diverse callers than this.

I don't listen to syndicated radio call in shows, is this normal on other AM shows? That you hear the same people. I honestly don't know.

I think we should pass out bingo cards with all the regulars on it, would make open line bearable

There is really only one local radio show I catch often enough to voice an opinion. Matt Patrick on the950 in Houston. I would say at least 60% of his calls are first time callers. He "salutes" first time callers with a gunshot sound, and makes a point of thanking them, so it is fairly obvious. I only recognize one or two frequent callers by their voice. And he takes a lot more calls than c2c. I think it is on from 2-5pm. I have only called in four times and gotten through twice. They do have a call screener, but only to take your name and city. Both times I got through, I was on hold about 10-15 minutes.

I never got through when Art was on MITD, but I only tried skype, which only had one line. I haven't called into Heather for over a year, but I think I got through 3 times on skype in her first 6 months. I tried probably 10 times. She seems to have 90% repeat callers.

MV always takes my calls. Unless he is asleep. I noticed more people called the GabCast than call Radio Trainwreck. Probably why he hasn't done a GabCast in awhile. He doesn't like skype.

We're very close to a 'perfect game'.
You need Bill calling in and rambling about the important of the Finno-Urgic peoples to everything from the Pyramids to Cold War history to have a 'perfect game.'

Most of the claims of "open lines" by these shows is 100% pure, unadulterated bullshit. It's rigged and obviously it's the same show-friendly people calling in ALL THE TIME! Noory, Wade, Hoagie, they all do the same thing. BORING! Have some fucking balls to be able to talk to new people. If they turn out to be jerks or trolls you still have the power to hang up and move on.  ::)

Bring back REAL live radio!  ;)

Sorry.  The one person who had the balls to do that now has breasts.

Good.  Why would you want to?  ;)

I can suspend disbelief with Nostradamus easier than most paranormal stuff.

The problem is you are reading the wrong interpretation of the paranormal's quatraine.

Oooo...just caught that. His political opinion is moot.

Hogue mentioned Trump and Uranus, so it has my attention.

BTW GOD DOES GNS!

Okay.  I'm listening now.  Just for a bit.  These guys are not my cup of tea.

I'm going back and forth from Dark Waters on MITD to Hogue on Suck to Suck AM.

I heard Dark Waters on Howard Hughes and the guy just seemed like a fraud that was late to the party.

Not sure I buy all his tales but he more or less just tells stories that he has heard.  Not necessarily firsthand experience so you have to take it all with a grain of salt.  Dave Schrader loves the guy.

I'll give the archive a try when I need something to listen to.

Politics is such a crutch with Norry ..... Along with squeezing in God/ angels into topics.

Hogue did mention Hunter S. Thompson when he (Hogue) was introduced.  No interjection from Dave at the time though.

Shocking because "To Kill a Mockingbird" was predicted in a quatrain!

He has some fun stories and good style. Never listened much but his few appearance have been fun. And the State is an area in which one experience lots of "out of body" or "apparitions" experiences etc. Not that the booze etc has anything to do with it.  ;) Sucks they are destroying all their history. I have some weird/conspiracy stories about one of the statues (in particular the WCC statute torn down.) Also somehow finding myself over in Algiers in full almost Clint Eastwood-esque garb and no problems and "finding myself, coming too" drinking beers with black dudes one of whom was playing a trumpet. No problems. No money or robbed. Just me seeing the sunrise saying "I gotta git back" and they nodding and saying "good luck". "Someone Up There" takes care of drunk kids.

This is a bad precedent trying to remove history from our cities.  Yes, these people that had statues made in tribute to them had their faults but they were historically significant.  No one is perfect anyway.  If we had been born in that time, we might have very well been slaveholders.  They were a product of their time.  We need to learn from history not try to wipe it out making it easier to commit the same sins again.

Got too long and posted too soon, but I agree with you. Imagine, this phenomena going to Rome, England, DC, rest of Europe? Crazy.

Hmm.  Might be thinking of Tom the Wolfeman Jack, was a DJ in the 70's I think.  Played a lot of Harper Lee Valley PTA, per that Mockingbird quatrain, IIRC.

LOL.  It was all one long joke.  Glad you caught it.  Yeah Tom Wolfe of Bonfire Of The Vanities fame wrote The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test not Thomas Wolfe.
