He's an intellectual lightweight, incapable of deep thought on any subject and all too willing to take the lazy way out with the show where Art was always engaged, informed and enthusiastic. C2C doesn't mean to Noory what it did to Art. I think it's a sign of success to him instead of an occupation he truly loves and devotes himself to. All the personal appearances, the silly Gaiam internet tv spot, the singing on stage: it's always about him rather than C2C. To him, the show is just a vehicle, a means to an end, and when he's challenged by anything, whether it's a listener who calls him on his crap or an guest who is outside his limited range, he immediately retreats into victim mode or else shuts them down and brings out the crap he's familiar with, like he did with last night's guest.

TRUTH

You should explain why you are dumping a guest...errrrrrrr..........bad phone connection. Bullshit. I didn't even listen last night but it always seems to be a phone issue??? Use your brian and make speak so we uderstand y guest go boom-boom.

Noory seemed to want to dump his main scheduled guest because he was getting too deep and informative and Noory probably couldn't come up with any applicable dummy questions for him after less than an hour.
Thats why he must have brought on substitute guest, regular Joshua P. Warren, so Noory could ask his typical childish  questions like "is there a difference between a ghost and a demon?" :o

last night didn't even have any detectable phone problem and the guest talked well too, probably just over Noory's little head though.
so Noory just returned after the second hour break with a new 'surprise' guest and gave no explanation at all for the disappearance of the main guest, just like he never existed in the first place...

Update:

Just tried to email Gough. I received a message saying my email couldn't be delivered because Gough's mailbox was full. Guess there might be quite a few people wondering what happened and not pleased about the abrupt ending.

I did the same thing....asking Gough WHY he didn't do his three hour scheduled interview.....the email box was full!  I only hope every Coaster I know was emailing him with the same question.  I also emailed Noory and asked him WHY he dumped Gough.   Geez!

ChewMouse

Is this the show you all heard last night?  The ending of Gough's interview is at about 1:16:16; George basically does say good-bye. And at the end, George's line up of shout-outs with Art's name sounds fairly normal.

My question is: did you all hear something different and is the YouTube version changed from what actually aired?

They need to stop with this SOUND OFF crap. Last night a woman was complaining about the term "stay at home mom" and wanted everyone to start calling it "work at home mom". How does this even relate to what coast to coast is supposed to be about?  >:(

The emphasis on open lines and the Sound Off stuff are all about appealing to the lowest common denominator to get the highest number of listeners.  The masses are asses.  The general "dumbing down" of the show and the subject matter shifts weren't enough; now Noory has to appeal to the average frustrated American who wants an outlet for venting their everyday problems.  And he'll do a "classic show" now and then to throw a bone to the original Art Bell audience.  He figures that's enough to keep them hanging on.

Noory figures as long as the numbers are there, his job is safe.  The people over him may well have made that clear to him in as many words.

"Nobody ever went broke under estimating the intelligence of the American public." Ah, yes, it's no doubt part of PremRat's 3 x 5 card collection for corporate management.  They apparently applied the same philosophy when selecting their C2C host, as well.

LMH makes her monthly appearance tonight.  I wonder if she'll have any Noory "slap downs."  She's probably counting the minutes to Art's new show.

Every once in a while he some how works in a story about encountering a fan and them being all "OMG ARE YOU THE REAL GEORGE NOORY?"

In reality I could go down on the streets and ask 1,000 people if they know who Jorch is and 98% probably wouldn't have a clue. But even my 80 year old grandpa who suffers from alzheimer's disease remembers Art and his show.

HAHA! I hope the #'s lady turning on him is just the tip of the iceberg. If Jorch would have kept his promise and retired back in dec he wouldn't have to face the embarrassment & destruction that is sure to come when Art's new show hits the air. It should be entertaining to watch him slowly burn to a crisp like a nuked pizza roll.

George promised to retire?  Very nice, when did he do that?

Jorch's brain has become so constipated that he panics when he is faced with a new guest. Snoory and his regulars remind me of fungi feeding off a rotting log. The regulars know Jorch is an idiot, but most of them have based their careers on C2C so they do whatever he asks, incliuding bailing him out on a moments notice.

I can just see it now.  If C2C and Noory finally do collapse, Noory will no doubt blame it on the lack of valet parking.  ;)

... And angels and portals are getting tired of being the cause of everything, Jorch.

This begs the question .. Is there such a thing as an "angel portal"?  Makes ya think.

Aaaaargh ... "Feb" again, stop with the "Feb" already!

George does seem to have a speech disorder, but I am no expert in these things.  Could it be mental illness? A stroke?

I seem to remember him mentioning once that he had some speech impediment when he was younger, and he got over it somehow.  If that's true, good for him.  However, I really don't know how much of his verbal manglings are due to some legitimate physiological/psychological challenge, versus just plain laziness and/or ineptitude.

mombird3

Don't they have voice coaches in that business? How did he ever become a radio announcer? There is money in commercials for products. A difficult name can be a disaster. Classical music radio have some very good radio hosts.

aaargh, "Your Song", again ... Great song, but so overplayed and unimaginative.  Wonder if he's aware Elton has other songs.  News flash to George Noory:  Elton John is not a one-hit wonder.  If you want to play something by him, please pick another choice, something besides the single-most obvious one you keep playing.

Same goes for all those other artists.  You see, this is supposed to be "Coast to Coast", not "America's Top 40 Drive-time Hits".

Immy

Here's an idea: let's make June 4th (Jorchie's birthday) National Pizza Roll Day. We can bombard him with packages of Noory kryptonite.  ;D

George to LMH regarding her interview:  "Pretty interesting guy Linda!"

What would we do without his insights?

Gay

George: Next you'll be talking about the new movie Hangar 18.

LMH: Actually it's from 1980.

The dumbass only has to talk a total of 2 minutes during LMH's 2 hours of reports and he manages to make a clown of himself.

Best part was his attempt to recover .... "Oh, THAT one"

George was never interested in any of the old topics.  Not ever.  His boring shows and lack of knowledge show that.  If he were, he'd at least listen to the guests when they are on, he'd read a book once in awhile, he'd even have a few questions he's wondered about - but of course he never does.    He got the job on false pretences.

George has claimed at different times that he was born with 'pockets' in his tongue, whatever that means, and has also claimed his tongue is forked - whatever he meant by that.  I assume with two different stories that he's just lying (but I would think that anyway), who knows why he needs to.

A few years back when this board was ridiculing him about always saying 'Feb', he once made a point of saying February.  He's just lazy.

George would rather lie, be completely unprepared, be known as the worst host in radio, and have 'sucks' be the first thing to come up after his name on any internet search, than put effort into his job.  So be it.

Gay

Didn't Gorgeous George say yesterday he's only signed up 1,000 people for a FREE trial of Gaiam TV so far, and he needs 9,000 more before he can start helping listeners with their light bill?

How does someone on 500+ stations only get 1,000 people to sign up after 3 months? THAT'S LESS THAN 2 LISTENERS PER AFFILIATE! And Alex Jones claims George has 20 Million nightly listeners.

Based on that, I'm calling BS when he claims he meets his goal of over 3,000 new Insider/Streamlink accounts each month.

Immy

LMH's topics are interesting but it's like listening to a disembodied Google voice.
