George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No

Art is class. He would never bad mouth C2C when he was turning over the reigns.

But its not just that, he could have opened himself up for litigation if he did. He might be the first to pour gasoline on it now but back then he probably didn't want to burn a bridge.

Even now, he could probably say a lot worse than he has, I am sure he will let his rating do the talking.

Marc.Knight

Never underestimate the power of Suckage.  If Art returns George Suck will shake up C2C a bit (possibly hire AJ) to broaden the fan base to include more hard-core end-of-earthers and machine gun huggers.

With George telling people that asked about Art that 'he's winding down, folks', I wonder how much that piised Art off.   To me that was shocking for George to talk about Art like he he was off in a home somewhere.

Typical Noory classlessness, poor use of the language, and unaware of how his comments are percieved.

I think he knew exactly how his comments would be perceived.

Noory knew this was a possibility, and we know he does little unscripted, so these comments were drafted and aimed at belittling Art personally.  Any group who does that intentionally deserves the worst, so lets deliver.

Is it possible George is genuinely rattled by Art's announcement? He seemed even more than usually appalling last night. Some of his atrocities have already been catalogued, but the first hour was quite breathless.
The 'hemmeratoomerastroke' that afflicted Ariel Sharon has been posted: can anyone find and post the clip of him trying to wrap the forked tongue around the name of the retiring Secretary Of State? It seemed to come out as Hilurrr Clinn'nnn (11:35 on YouTube). And, btw, the discussion of Hillary's ageing over four years in post - including his description of her now as 'horrible' - was just disgusting. Introducing Richard Heinberg, he managed to somehow turn the title of his book which is, quite simply The End Of Growth, into an extraordinary combination of nonsense that sounded like 'Energy Over Developmenanananandelusion Of Growth'.
Mitch Battros' daughter just made the skin crawl and is best passed over in silence, but how about the point at which he carefully read out The Numbers Lady's phone number on air? Glynis mumbled something away from her phone. George did his annoyed 'Where did you go?' thing and Glynis told him she was just putting a Do Not Disturb on the number he had just read out on the air. What would he be thinking doing that? Sheer unprofessionalism.
Why is he suddenly obssessed with Ariel Sharon and his comma toes? Glynis actually corrected his pronunciation, which prompted sNoory to try to correct her pronunciation of Sharon's name. Nothing to do with pronunciation, in fact, just one of Doughboy's ludicrous accents which just involved rolling every available 'r'.
Was Glynis screwing with George? From early on, she seemed to be deliberately pausing every time he mumbled a non sequitur while she was talking. When he offered Sharon's birth date as 'Feb' 26, she asked him to repeat it, which he did, but she came back with 'What was that first bit?'. He did manage to spit a February out in response to that, but resorted to the short form shortly afterwards when informing us that he has a 'major speech' to deliver in the 'second week of Feb'. Major speech? From a man who can't pronounce the months of the year? Who does he think he is, anyway, with his major speeches? The fucking President?
The call from Joe who was Gerald was great. Noory still saying 'Good luck, Joe' at the end of the call, which led Glynis to correct him. It just seemed to go on and on and on.
Also claimed that calls are unscreened! 'We find out where you're calling from, but we don't screen you.'

It was a never-ending stream of incompetence, creepiness and hilarity at a quite extraordinary level, even by his miserable standards.

Conclude your talks soon, Art, and put us out of our misery. GEORGE NOORY SUCKS

Excellent summary and commentary on last night's disaster.

Yes, an excellent summary.  Glad I missed Noory's latest train wreck.  :D

George has stunk it up to the point Art knows it's hopeless.  If Art isn't PO'ed, he at least must be saddened.

Actually, I emailed Art this past Sunday (the 27th) and he responded Monday (the 28th).  In my email, I ripped Snorge and what's happened to C2C. I also asked Art if he had any news about his possible return. Without directly insulting Snorge, Art acknowledged my frustration and sympathized. He also mentioned that his return was dependent on getting an offer that met his needs. I'd like to think my email helped prompt him to post an update on his FB page yesterday but that may have been pure coincidence. (Yes, Snorge, I said it might be a coincidence. Nyah-nyah!)

I thought about posting my email to Art, Art's response and my response to his response but I thought it would be tacky to do so without his okay, sort of like repeating a private conversation. As it turns out, Art provided a public update so posting/not posting the emails doesn't matter now.

ItsOver

Interesting, COB.  Yes, Jorge, THERE ARE COINCIDENCES!

"He gets it."  I always thought Art meant the Snorge figured out real early that those in power care ONLY for the bottom line.  Hense, the info-mercial "guests" who pop up quite frequently.    :(

Yep probably. Jorch was willing to do everything they wanted.

Thunder storms down here in the south.  Just piddling around the house.  Thought I'd do something nice for ole' George.

Thanks for recapping, as it confirms all the awful stuff I was hearing - I thought maybe I was hallucinating.

If I'm not mistaken, there was a very bizarre part where GN blurted out something about "What about Zsa Zsa Gabor?  Is she still alive?", and Glynis said "Yes she is" and GN mused something like "So sad for her".  What? Did that actually happen?

At about 39:55 (YouTube time), Jorch attempts to correct her. He also attempts to roll his R's but for someone who can't speak to begin with, this proves to be a problem. A narcissistic jack ass, with no sense of self irony.

Time to add my story to "The Definitive Compendium".  I stopped listening to George's half-assed version of Coast due to his own hubris and my one and only interaction with the goofball.  This was around 2001/2002 when you could fast-blast George (don't know if they still do that, stopped caring).  Whatever show he was doing was just killing me with his inane babble and I really couldn't stand it anymore.  I fast blasted something along the lines of "George you need to pick up the pace this is boring".  He responded "But you're still listening".  Nope.  Turned the radio off and never turned it back on.  If you have that much arrogance where you think you can crap on the airwaves and I'm going to just sit there and enjoy it simply because you're the one doing all the talking you are sadly mistaken.  I had a gut instinct he was a tool and I was right.  I pictured him sitting there with a smug little smile on his face thinking he was the pied piper of radioland and everyone loved him by default.  What a sad joke that man is.

I've noticed this a number of times, even with words/names that don't require it. I think it's his attempt at sounding worldly, but it usually fails. Also, pay attention next time he pronounces "Jacques Vallee."

Hey, I have that feeling every night before Snoory is on, does that make me a psychic?
Probably not, but it seems to always come true.

Morgus

Noory did it again tonight, dumping his main guest after only one hour with no explanation at all:
Editor-in-Chief of The Heretic Magazine, Andrew Gough, will discuss his work researching the lost traditions and symbolism celebrating the sacred honey bee in ancient cultures.

Noory brought in one of his regular guests, Joshua Warren, in the 3rd hour as a substitute.
Wonder what the main guest did to incur Noory's wrath? Or maybe he was just too intelligent for Noory?

Nebraska888

I am furious......this was a great guest.  Noory is an idiot......AN IDIOT!

stevesh

I think we all agree that Noory is getting worse rather than better. It may just be my optimism, but he is increasingly sounding like someone whose job is coming to an end and knows it. Less and less engaged with the topics, repeatedly throwing new guests under the bus to bring in one of his regular pals with whom he doesn't even need to read his index cards, taking a lot of Fridays off. Might be a good sign.

Morgus

I recall the guest last night mentioned he wouldn't leap to the conclusion that the ancient Egyptian Pyramids were built with help from ETs.
Noory then asked him if he was a 'skeptic' - that might have caused him to dump him after only an hour...

Morgus

I noticed in Noory's sign-off last night in list of people to thank he ended with his usual "and Art Bell" but said it with a different strange emphasis than he usually does.
What could that have meant? ;)

Juan

Maybe his well-used index card is smeared and sNoory had to try to remember Art's name.

I was interested in that whole "honey bee ancient worship/big pharma plot to kill them" thing. Andrew Gough wanted to get deeper into certain aspects of it ("If I may, George, I would like to elaborate on..."), but George just felt like bouncing around. I like Joshua P. Warren, but these guys who let George call them to be on the air in two minutes are just enabling his crappy behavior. They should let George wing for two hours and suffer, but the publicity is to valuable. And I noticed that whether George has seven hours of prep, or the two minute "I'm dumping a guest can you come on?" prep, it's the same damn crappy interview. David Blume on alcohol fuel. Every time I hear him I want to pull over and pour something crazy into my tank, but then I get over it.  Yeah, definitely seemed to pause when he got to Art Bell at the end.  I think soon he won't be allowed to say it.

Yup.  Could it have been unconscious, namely seeing Art's name brought the abject fear of his ride ending and he paused?  Also, could just mean he knows we are listening for it.
