Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

It's his inner Casey Kasem, I don't mind it, especially compared to the boob from Monday to Friday who wouldn't know Lennon from Lenin(he knows neither, actually)

I always look forward to Knapp's sentence or two about bumper song choice--gives us some insight as to why he chose it and shows some actual, uh, thought about the bumper choices.

Red Rubber Ball, anyone?  No thanks.

Eddie Coyle

Wells, who is hardly an impressive host overall, at least knows his bumper music. Goddamn Noory, and I wish I was kidding here, didn't really know Johnny Cash's music until he watched "Walk The Line" and stated as much on the air in early 2006. That's just another example of his cultural illiteracy. He needs major Hollywood films to illuminate him...

Good call on the Kasem/Noory connection, Ben. I listen to "AT 40-the 70's" for historical/hysterical purposes and in retrospect, his lachrymose responses to those letters and dedications are even funnier since the notorious "Casey tapes" came out, revealing how he really felt about playing songs about "dogs dying"(undoubtedly the request was for Henry Gross' dead dog opus "Shannon")

His trivia and other attempts at showing knowledge of any sort are always good for a laugh. As were his prognostications about songs "making it", Allah knows how many songs Casey jinxed and felt off the charts after reaching # 37 and getting his blessing/kiss of death of "heading towards the top"

However, I'll admit to spending way too many saturday mornings between 1981-1986, listening to Casey and writing the Top 40 in a notebook, week to week. Fuckin nerd I was.

I Fucking hate the Coast format and thus hate the show. I was upset that Art left full time duties in 03', I gave Noory a chance and can't really remember him being such a POOR host. I entered the military in early 04' so I did not have much of a chance to listen till 06'! What a bunch of BULLSHIT! The think I liked most about coast was it was "popular" but not MAINSTREAM. George doesn't seem to know that hosting a major radio program isn't a "hobby". If you have listened to coast for awhile does anyone recall Mike Seigal? That sir, was GOD AWFULL!

I don't have the strength to analyze the show and break down all his mistakes. I miss listening to coast to hear about aliens by people who care and are interested in the subject matter. But most of all to be ENTERTAINED!!! I said before I was in the military so have a cow about my post. I did one year of C.C.

I also forgot to select an avitar. Kiss my fucking ass. Kidding.....Asshole's! @ least Phil Hendrie is still funny.

is his new show pretty good?  i haven't listened in a long time.  i was a regular listener until he quit radio in 2006 and then when he returned to radio, it was like a funeral initially.  seemed like his divorce hit him pretty hard.

* What do you suppose Georgie thinks of "Casey," consciously or not?  What might he think that name befitting of...?

Is "Casey" also Lebanese?  I know he's Middle Eastern like Noory.

Im not an avid listener to Phil's live program. For the most part I listen to clips on youtube. I always laugh when I hear; GAY MAN, GAY JOURNALIST!

Michael Vandeven,

What are your thoughts on Noory's book? I saw a clip on youtube that it was selling for a WHOPPING 3 dollars?...OUCH! He was pimping it HARDCORE before it came out. Must have been TERRIBLE!

His parents came from Lebanon to Michigan, I think in the 1920's or so. He's Druze.

I'm sorry for being angry but, I can't help but to lash out at the only person in this world who WRECKED the fucking show. Sweet baby Jesus in a UPS truck...my blood pressure is high right now.

Which one? Noory has two books out now and more coming that he has hinted at for some time.
But all of these books have a co-author and Noory probably was a minor part of it, providing notes to the true authors...  8)

How did he land C2C? I know he always was saying that he had never met Art in person just talked to him on the phone? I have no idea maybe it was the network's choice and Art had no "real" say in the matter.

Worker in the light...he went on and on about it before it was released.

I have not listened to a live broadcast to C2c in about two years. I was wondering does George have a personal story or connection to anything "paranormal"??? Art had his UFO encounter story. He also en gauged and drew myself into listening every night and made topics that were in no way likely at least fun to hear about. Main point QUESTIONING the quest when they sound questionable!!!

It peeves me when I hear Noory cut callers off and replies with dumb/obvious comments. Running a nationwide talk show must be hard work, but it is kinda hard to believe with the work ethic he puts on display. Lazy. I am not going to say I could do better, I am not a trained radio personality.

The format of the show is to BOUNCY for my liking. Maybe because I am a creature of habit? Who knows. I like topics involving aliens, government cover-ups, paranormal stories from quests and callers, SOME doom and gloom. Enjoyed the hell out of the evp tapes played back with Art. Oh yeah love me some FUCKING bigfoot stories and quests.

Noory has told of his one out-of-body experience from when he was sick as a little kid.
He often tells guests about his aunt who was some kind of paranormal expert or researcher.
He also keeps telling about his recent experience down in Mexico from a few months ago...  :o

the only book i know of by noory is worker in the light, which from the reviews (and common sense) looks like a pile of shit.  noory is an expert on NOTHING and why someone would invest time in his written words is beyond me.

Noory probably was willing to take the least amount of money for pay from the set of guests hosts that were brought on during the last year of Art's fulltime period when back problems forced him to take a lot of nights off.
Noory also is obviously the network's choice since he follows their orders exactly and promotes all of their commercial product sponsers.

Noory has a couple other more recent books out.
One is Journey to the Light, the sequel to his first book, with the same co-author "UFO Hunters" Bill Birnes.
But that book is apparently mostly a compilation of stories that c2c listeners sent them - not much writing involved.
I see its selling on amazon brand new for only $1.43 with free shipping now...

Another recent Noory book is Talking to the Dead, co-authored with frequent c2c guest Rosemary Ellen Guiley. I bet she is the true author of the book and Noory's name is first just for publicity purposes...

Thanks Morgus,

It had to be the network. Dumb question by me I guess. I should have asked does anyone know if Art retained any control or vision of the show? The network im sure made him sign over any control or something to that degree. I remember Art saying he trusted the Noory with the show...BIG MISTAKE...D'oh!

Actually Art Bell only said on the air that "George gets it" not that he trusted him or endorsed him...
That could just have meant Art understood with the show now owned and controlled by the network that Noory gets that fact that he has to be a network "yes-man"  ;)

It was known that Art sold the show to the network years back when he retired, so he has no control at all in the past 10 years or so. The network owns the show and controls it now, as is apparent in the changes in the past decade.  8)

meanmug247

its a shame how bad the show has gotten. I've been listening to the art bell stream for almost a week straight on my android phone (you guys are awesome by the way).  art bell hosting the show was amazing. I'm more into the shows from 1995 than anything on the radio now. the interview with father malakai had me glued to the radio for 4 hours. I wish I had taped it it was so good. I guess Noory is good for something after all. I found this site and the art bell stream because I was so aggravated from listening to Noory. I jumped on Google to see if art bell is ever gonna guest host again. here I am on coast gab laughing my butt off at all the Noory bashing. I'm so glad I'm not alone in my disgust at the current state of coast to coast.

I hope it made Art a wealthy man! Yes, my questions do appear that I am uniformed so i appologize for that. No question Noory is a yes-man, and a bull-shit artist!

Bill Birnes?...Is that the asshole who looks like he's got an alien probe up his ass? Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Why is Noory a fucking "expert" commenting on the History channels' ancient aliens??? That's like Anderson Cooper calling me up and saying "Hey! PortlandDangler!....come on CNN during a live broadcast and comment on geopolitics!" Me "Shit yeah Anderson...Well fuck George Noory can go on the history channel and jack-off a couple of oneliners!"

Ghost...Robot...Portal...Mayan calandar...Indeed...Amazing...Where did they go, we lost em'...BACK TO YOU ANDERSON!

George has plenty of personal stories.  None of them really seem to ring true, yet still mange to make George out to be pretty creepy.  Believe whichever of them at your risk.

I believe he is an asshole that ruined a good late night radio program.
