Isn't it weird how the current election cycle is making interesting bed fellows? You have hordes of dangerous intelligent young people combining with what has been their arch enemies in hardcore conservatives to turn against the left. Both sides dropping their conservative and liberal labels because of how corrupt those words have become.

Ha, RCH has nothing on him. Everyone knows much of life is presuming you are where/who you are supposed to be and most people will buy it. (Recall how many times you are finally 'legal' to go in a bar or whatever and you won't be carded. Simple state of mind.) But a bit surprised at fooling the military etc? Though could be the "CIA" claims and compartmentalization and not just the assumption that this guy is real but maybe "above my paygrade or access?" Idk. Crazy story though!

There are some pretty intelligent folks here, so please help me understand what happened today. At the republican convention, the Trump haters tried to free up the already won delegates  so they could vote for whoever they wanted. My question is: "Why did we have primaries if the results could be tossed aside at the convention"? How much money was just wasted if the primaries could just be voided? Heck, those billions could have helped people, or at least get us closer to balancing the national budget....

Yes and all the world's population, all 7 Billion plus, could fit inside the boundaries of Texas. There's more than enough clean water, resources and food for everyone in the world... but fuck it.

Every Party (though really only two matter) controls their selection process at the State level and, depending on the States, they have different rules etc. Then each Party at the National level has their own rules and/or change them prior to the convention or at the beginning of the convention. The "dump Trump" people and RINOs etc were bitching because they wanted some rule changes to try to free up delegates or, at least, get a roll-call vote on record but instead they went with a voice vote and so no rule changes that could help the "dump Trump" folks.

Sort answer: they are private parties and can make rules and spend money as they wish. And there is lots of politics involved.
