Forgiveness is divine...

I had a family rift a number of years ago, and it was really hard to forgive.   I watched this video of a guy who studied forgiveness and the key thing I pulled out of the talk was that forgiveness is for the forgiver, not for the person who wronged you.   (Forgive for Good, Fred Luskin)  You are really just allowing yourself not to be bothered by it anymore, and not letting the person have any control over your emotional state.  You don't have to forget what happened.     I know this is in reference to a minor thing and you were making a joke, but forgiveness played a big role in my life at that time.

Lady at the library treating it like her home office - talking on her cell phone with her bank's customer service.  And the guy at the used bookstore who receives a call on his full-volume ringing cell phone and catches up for twenty minutes with someone who apparently wants to know all about his wife's recent hospital visit.

Biggest annoyance is that I now realize these are not just bad apples who don't care, it is in fact a whole cultural breakdown of respect for other people's right to peace and quiet - even in those few places where it used to be expected.

Grab a pencil and a sheet of paper, walk up right in their view and start taking notes, looking at them eagerly.   I bet they will either leave or quiet the fuck down.

Reminds me of this article and people working at Starbucks. I've heard of people fighting for the power outlets in Starbucks as well.
http://www.theonion.com/articles/most-depressing-job-interview-youll-ever-see-curre,32020/

"Ultimately, we’re looking for motivated people who can think fast on their feet and are up to any challenge,” the man added while a Josh Groban song played over a storewide speaker and seven people lined up three feet away to use the bathroom...

Reports indicate that the interview reached a new level of despair when a Starbucks patron interrupted the meeting and asked the job applicant if he could take the unused seat next to her back to his table."

I was in a Barnes and Noble, empty except for myself and one other shopper. As I standing there looking for the book I came in for,  less than 2 feet from my ear I began to hear loud talking. It was her on her cellphone having a loud conversation, not even aware she was practically shouting in my ear, not to mention way too close for comfort. I am so tired of people with their bluetooth attachments, walking around without a care in the world while the rest of us have their one-sided conversations inflicted on us.

I quite agree, Unscreened...  such behavior is dismaying and irksome to the nth degree!  With this new technology has come lots of impacts upon social dynamics, psychology, and plain ol' etiquette.  Alvin Toffler wrote his seminal work Future Shock to address the changes we'd face with new technology.  The impact of technology on social space is really redefining such terms as privacy and public.

People are so rude these days. I don't understand it. I still try to be polite, but it's getting harder every day. When someone is next to us gabbing away into a cell, my husband and I often join the conversation.  When the offender gives us a dirty look, we're like, "Oh, we thought you were talking to us."  ;D

I saw this earlier. This little bastard needs his arrogant ass kicked.  >:(  His attorneys did him a great disservice by not telling him to straighten up and act right.

Oh, my... that homely brat is a disgrace to the great country of Canada.  I rarely genuinely wish bad things upon human beings.  This spoiled-rotten creature, however, would benefit from a great cosmic comeuppance.  May the god of schadenfreude smile upon us (and shit upon Bieber).  Let it be so.

What a belligerent little twerp.  And why is there a line of questioning about Usher?  What does that have to do with operating a motor vehicle under the influence?

Further evidence that there are two justice systems.  One for the rich.  And another for the poor.  If it weren't for his money and his defense team this asshole would have had the shit beat out of him repeatedly.

This case is about one of his bodyguards beating up a photographer.  From the questioning, I assume they are asking about Usher being a confidant because they are assuming Bieber told him about his hatred for the photographers, making him another possible witness.

Three things:
1) This isn't the Politics thread
2) Pay some writers to come up with some new material. You obviously don't have an imagination of your own.
3) You've expressed elsewhere that Liberals are prone to whining.  I'm sure that annoys the hell out of you as you don't seem able to stop yourself from doing same.
Now you and your vegan, local grown bullshit go fuck off.

1) I was being facetious
2) You are confusing me with another poster
3) I couldn't give a warm piss in the wind what you think about anything
4) You're an obnoxious twerp.

Other  than that, have a  nice day. :)

No, sir. I must vociferously disagree; my Ivory Tower is not imaginary.
