They really screwed the pooch. They needed to run Bernie, but could not dump their own establishment like the Republicans did. To defend that, they told us how Hillary was qualified and mainstream. She lost. So now they're finally dumping their establishment by putting in dingbats that will only further alienate them from their constituency. The fall of liberalism and the Democratic Party that just two weeks ago was made out by the media to be the future of humanity turned out to just be really sad.

Weird thing is, the electoral college actually favors them other than this most recent election and Gore. Previous Republicans had increasingly limited ways to win the electoral vote. The Dems were moving in the opposite direction. It just happened to work out that the electoral and popular votes aligned for them. But it could have very easily not aligned. There may come a time, which will be sad and ridiculous, where they can only win through the electoral college. Especially if we require some kind of ID to vote in all 50 states. They're fucked on the popular vote if that happens.
