I find the reactions of some of the elites interesting... As though there is nothing to worry about... And with the "swamp heavy" transition team, maybe there is not anything for the ruling elite and career politicians and lobbyists to worry about.  I guess I was hoping to see some change early on.

Leaders in his transition include former Rep. Mike Rogers, former Reagan Attorney General and Heritage Foundation fellow Edwin Meese, former President of Heritage Edwin Feulner, former Bush administration official and lobbyist Christine Ciccone, former Dick Cheney adviser Ado Machida, former Senate Budget Committee staffer Eric Ueland and Sen. Jeff Sessions' former chief of staff Rick Dearborn. The effort is chaired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christi

Meese told CNN that in general, the transition is going "very well," and suspected the heavy involvement from key Heritage personnel shows that his think tank will have a strong influence on Trump.

While the GOP platform called for reinstating Glass-Steagall and Trump's campaign manager at the time promoted it, Christie told the financial services lobbyists gathered that Trump is often open to changing his mind when he gets input from people with expertise.

James Wallner, group vice president of research at Heritage, said he is encouraged that Trump will heed the recommendations of his organization for two reasons. One is that their ideals line up with many of his campaign promises, and two is that Heritage has made an effort to craft all of their recommendations in an easy-to-use manner.

So, you have Chris Christie saying that Trump can be easily influenced by "people with expertise", think tanks who think that their policies can just be directly implemented because they are "easy to use", and a transition team filled with career politicians.

I honestly hope Trump pulls the plug on that swamp sooner than later.  It is still early- but these are not encouraging signs for anybody who wants "hope and change."  ;)

Christie was removed 2 hours ago as head of the transition team.  It is Pence's job now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fully expecting to be fucked. I think of how hopeful I was about Obama in '08 and then he surrounded himself with the same typical scum. I just haven't seen a reason to get worried yet. I thought the article did a poor job laying out why I should worried.

Please explain the Heritage Foundation more to me.

Well, at least she is not codlling him and turning him into a weak willed SJW.  ;D

There is that. lol.

They do a lot of good.  I may not agree with every position but I agree with most of them.

***Bolded the parts that concern me more than who is on the transition team.  I will say that it is early- but I want to see the first bucket taken out of the swamp.

I figured you'd be the only one to read that article. :) Yes, it looks like the swamp will still be full of slimy bottom feeders and parasitic life forms. One thing about Trump tho is he'll have to run everything by Jared and Ivanka, so his advisors will always have to take a back seat.

I know that people will not believe this- but I agree.  I also support the Manning foundation (very right wing, set up by the leader of the reform party) in Canada.

My problem comes when a think tank starts gaining too much influence. When the heritage foundation publishes "blueprint for a new administration: priorities for a new president" I do not worry... Unless they actually start thinking they can personally hand the new president the report, whisper sweet nothings in his ear and have him use it as his priority checklist because they have made it "easily digestible and easy for him to implement."

I simply don't want a think tank to feel that they can run the country- and their remarks make it clear they are hoping to have a chance.

I didn't even fucking vote for Trump

I beg your pardon?

I guess It would be a little difficult to over see the transition from a jail cell.

Couldn't put my name on his anti-Gay, pro-Life bent towards the Supreme Court. I have too many important gay people in my life to sign off on that. I also think access to legal safe abortion is pivotal to women. But I'm all aboard most things with him. The biggest thing was murdering this leftist political correctness and Orwellianism that was descending on this country. The fact that Trump is a charismatic alpha as well as the best comedian in the country and the King of Bantz is a bonus.

You must mistake me for a Hillary supporter.

Anybody over the age of 25 or so should know the grass ain't any greener on the other side. I'm laughing already at how the the same old shit is already falling into place, and Trump supporters thought they would get something new and different--even "GREAT"?.. lmao

No, I don't want a think tank to run the country either.  Just contribute ideas.  If they make sense, fine.  If not, discard them.

Yeah, all these think tanks are constantly coming up with blueprints to this, that, or the other thing. Sometimes people even read them. But not often.

I think it is too early to say anything.  I'll give him a 100 days to implement his ideas.  If they amount to nothing, I'll start criticizing him.  He deserves that at the very least.

Agreed.  As long as I don't see anything resembling the deceptively named Rebuilding America's Defenses being proposed, I'm willing to give the guy a chance.

Kid voted for Trump in a mock election at school.  Bitch mother kicks him out. >:(

That cunt must not realize that by 'kicking her son out' she will have a smaller welfare check.   That kid is never going to forget what his mother did to him.  She probably just guaranteed another 'red' vote till the day he dies.

Unless Trump has had a recent personality transplant the Republicans will still find him barely tolerable, just as they did throughout the campaign.  I think the Rs would be foolish to think the power they lost will be restored with Trump as POTUS.  But as you say, we'll see  ;)

Making real plans for the Wall.

I have very mixed feelings about this so I'm just going to stay out of any further debate, for the time being anyway.

That is sort of what I meant.  Everybody wants to stay in their own comfortable bubble.  Why actually look at the people that Trump is putting in key positions if it might make you uncomfortable?

The left does the same thing- read only what confirms their world view...

No. I'm not trying to stay in a bubble like the liberals and their safe spaces. I just prefer not to waste my time on things I know to be bullshit.  ;)

That didn't take long.  I thought there were laws against nepotism in the U.S. government?

Three of Trump’s children are on the executive committee team.

Good things can come out of nepotism.  Frankenstein, Dracula and  All Quiet On The Western Front would not have been made in the early 30's if we didn't have nepotism.  There is always a silver lining.  :D ;)

Besides I would not exactly call these positions government jobs.

Don't be...I've lived on the border for 16 years...half is walled and the other isn't...its Just finishing the rest...I don't see anyone advocating for tearing down what we already have.

Guess it is probably a result of conditioning.  I'm a big Pink Floyd fan and I hated the Berlin wall.  Walls do have their place though.  The Great Wall of China is a magnificent piece of work.

Interesting that California is almost 100 percent walled...I don't see them protesting to tear it down.
