BTW, that was a reference to the fact that Wright invited Farrakhan to speak at Obama's old church. I wonder if the parking lot was big enough to accommodate the mother ship.

No way no how, I think this is propaganda to demonize Obama, like most of the media is doing.

The media are in Obama's pocket. Do you even remember the last election?

b_dubb

i remember the last election where dubbya drove the country into the ground and everyone looked around and said we'd better not vote for another old white guy.  and palin being an idiot.  one old fart away from the driver seat.  had mccain won.

mccain ran a terrible campaign.  he was too old to run for office.  and he chose a running mate that proved to be something of a dumbass.  i've asked this question elsewhere on this site but i'm going to ask it again: had mccain won ... would we be scaling down military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan? or would we be expanding military operations?

If the media was in his pocket then why does every talk show host in the country continue to bash him?

999

I mean journalism. Talk show hosts aren't journalists, they're entertainers/shit-stirrers IMO.

I tend to think scaling down would have occurred. Both wars are extremely unpopular moreso with each passing week and McCain, despite his obstinate reputation, would have been closer to Bush 41 than Bush 43 in decision making. It's all hypothetical, so I could easily be wrong, but only a Santorum-like meathead would push on in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't understand why ONE fucking boot is on the ground in Afghanistan today. May 1, 2011 should have been the day the withdrawals began in totality.

That's true, you have a point. But I don't think he has Fox News, or the New York Times in his pocket. He's generally bashed almost everywhere.

Obama, McCain, Bush are all the same to me. Spending shit tons of money, sending military advisors to foreign countries (though the press is giving Obama a pass on those LOL), continuing wars, supporting the Patriot Act & security theater. I have a family member who is in Afghanistan after doing 2 tours in Irag. So he's been in both Bush and Obama's wars.

EnterDragon

Oh I agree, they are definitely all the same. I wouldn't even call it their wars, it's not really their wars. I was happy when he finally got every troop out of Iraq, and so many in the media said he did so prematurely. Hopefully, he'll send the troops home from Afghanistan real soon.

What I should have said is that they are all the same in that they are puppets. However, they are definitely not all the same politically for sure !

January 21st, 2009 should have been the day the withdrawals began in totality, I'm thinking.

Good point. Going into that country on Oct 7, 2001 was flawed from the start...

I don't usually check to see what topic is up for discussion on C2C before I tune in, or who is hosting. But I know it's a Wells show when I hear some insane-sounding person ranting at a breakneck pace without being interrupted for 10 minutes. I don't know if it's him, or the guests, but something needs to change.

I know ! Wells doesn't speak often, mostly after and before a commercial break. Wells is only there to cut the guests off at the break when the music plays. He sometimes forgets to even do that!

I expect push back but I really liked the most recent conspiracy Wells show..

There's no need to feel embarrassed. It was an entertaining, informative show. Some conspiracy theories turn out to be historical facts. You just have to separate the wheat from the chaff. Go where the truth takes you. It's fashionable to make smug and snide remarks about *all* facets of the subject. IMO, reflexively dismissing all claims is as wrong as reflexively embracing all claims. It's fine to disagree with the debunkers when you think that they're mistaken. (rant over)

ha! the long awaited gnome show!

Valentine and von Lahr sound rather like fairies themselves so it will be interesting to hear how Wells handles them.  :P   I kind of liked the shows they did in the past.  They almost had me believing that I could see “nature people” (fairies, gnomes, leprechauns) myself.  Then I listened to some of their techniques.  To see fairies it helps if you put strings of Christmas lights in pastel shades in trees.  This attracts them.  The fairies will appear as sparkling pastel lights in trees…   ;D

Seamus Capone

I had a discussion with von Lahr when he visited this board. He dismissed my theory that some legends were based on smaller natives who hid from larger new-comers. They hid in places like caves and woods, and they gave rise to local stories about elves and fairies. I think that this was especially true in the British Isles.

Morgus

This first hour now John Wells has a couple of guests for St. Patrick's Day discussing "nature spirits" like fairies, leprauchans, and gnomes.
Sounds like this old movie, The Gnomemobile:  ;D

Tonight's Show was Wells' best. Coast at its finest. I am serious.

I agree he was at his best, but I'm not sure about his guests. Wells' guests seem to contradict everything we hear from the guests of the other Coast hosts. The guy that was on last night said drink tap water instead of bottled! And that's just one example.

Who is John B. Wells and where did he come from? The bowels of Clearchannel? 2 posts on here said that last nights show was as good as its been in a long time? Is this true, if so then this guy needs to be pushed to full time host! Time to Phase out Noory asap.

For Wells? No thanks.

Anyway, I kind of have my suspicions this may be what's going on.

So you would rather keep Noory as the full time host? I read that Noory ain't leaving till he "drops" UH OH! Plus he is probably under contract.

It's a tough call, to be honest. I'm sick of Wells' politics and his religion, it's irritating beyond words and this is still fresh in his weekend tenure. I can keep the radio on while Noory blathers away incoherently, but Wells attitude is like nails on a chalkboard.

So: Bored, uninterested host or bible thumping host?
Would you rather have more of Simple George's sound effects or Coast to Holy Ghost?

Easy. Stop listening. That's what I do.

I have. Meanwhile I'd rather Wells not make a cent off of fear mongering gas masks to someone who just got started listening. It's the principle of the thing. I would rather the show die a slow death from Noory's lifelessness than Wells' extremism.

It doesn't mean I'm pro "this guy" or "that guy". It means I dislike both of them in different ways.

Bless you sir,

Every one hates the doom and gloom and Noory is a NERF HERDER!
