"Equation shows that large-scale conspiracies would quickly reveal themselves

While we can all keep a secret, a study by Dr David Robert Grimes suggests that large groups of people sharing in a conspiracy will very quickly give themselves away. The study is published online by journal PLOS ONE...

'This will of course not convince everyone; there's ample evidence that belief in conspiracy is often ideological rather than rational, and that conspiracy theories thrive in an echo chamber. This makes challenging the more odious narratives much more difficult. If we are to address the multitudinous difficulties facing us as a species, from climate change to geo-politics, then we need to embrace reality over ideologically motivated fictions. To this end, we need to better understand how and why some ideas are entrenched and persistent among certain groups despite the evidence, and how we might counteract this.' "

Certainly, the more people in on it, the harder it is to keep a secret.  This is why different agencies plant a lot of disinformation, so that no one will know/believe the truth, even though it exists in one of the theories.

i found danny glover

Sounds pretty gruesome. It reminds me of Galaxy Express where Count Mecha would hunt human women for trophies.

Beside the obvious compartmentalization etc they also frequently plant disinformation or misinformation amongst their own agencies and groups/divisions within agencies. Both to try to discover spies, leaks to foreign agencies/media/people that are wrong, but also simply to keep people from not knowing what is real and what is a lie or 'conspiracy theory' internally.

Sirhan Sirhan denied parole despite a Kennedy confidant’s call for the assassin’s release from
Washington Post today

After decades of investigation, Paul Schrade has no doubt about the identity of the man who shot him in the head shortly after midnight on June 5, 1968, in the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel:

It was Sirhan Sirhan, the same gunman convicted of assassinating Robert F. Kennedy.

And yet, when Schrade came face to face with Sirhan for the first time in nearly 50 years, at a parole hearing in San Diego on Wednesday, he argued that the notorious gunman wasn’t Kennedy’s killer.

But the panel wasn’t swayed and Sirhan was denied parole for the 15th time, according to the Associated Press

As a girl that played with Barbies I have to say I never once thought that I should strive to look like one, just like I never wanted to look like a troll doll or an easy bake oven.

Sounds like you have unresolved childhood trauma issues.

That's interesting and a way to keep folks honest.  It probably even helps that employees are aware that this is done from time to time.

At one time I worked for a foreign company in the US.  The head of the organization would periodically send reports back home, reporting on the American management.  The top ranking American manager would always manage to surreptitiously grab a copy and have it translated.  Often what we were told was on the report was not accurate.

Kanye West wants you to spend $20 on his new album.

Can't imagine what he thinks the physical copy is worth.

It's Kanye West's world.  We only live in it.  That's his take on things.

However, I would gladly pony up $20 for the $900 Louis Vuitton collaboration sneakers he worked on.

Nine-hundred bucks for sneakers.  Sometimes my head just hurts.

My shoes cost less than Kanye's album.  8)

And to think that cock Shkreli wanted to purchase it all for himself at $10 million.
