Yes. You certainly didn't hold the majority opinion on grannies. You boldly went way over the line of decency. No group think there.

My sweet LMH? Why, I would spray semen on her till the cows come home.

Well technically the subject was sexy grannies.

Thanks for having my back, bro!

There's nothing wrong with doing the nasty *wink wink* in a mutilated cow corpse. Besides, LMH and I could make a porn spin off. Investigating, discovering, and exploring our naked bodies amongst the mutilated cattle.

Accusations of "Group Think" are a convenient way to explain away majority opinions.
Sometimes the accusation is used when there is no logical argument against the majority opinion.  Other times people who want to be liked will go with the group.  Sometimes groups here turn into mobs with torches and pitchforks so it can be frightening to express a dissenting opinion.  I like looking at other sides of positions.  It makes me think if my view is logical or not.  I despise deeply held positions that have no thought behind them.  I can respect opinions opposite mine if there is a logical thought process that allow me to understand how they arrived at the conclusion even if it differs from mine.

I think it's time we re-evaluate the need for oxygen.

You're post is logical. I agree that people resort to making baseless accusations when they believe their personal beliefs are being threatened. I respect people's ability to hold and express a differing opinion. Here on the Internet; the easiest way to discredit an individual - is labeling them a "troll." That happens on BellGab from time to time. Groupthink on the Art Bell thread (my opinion), appears to centered around keeping all/most posts regarding Art, positive. Asking rational questions isn't "trolling." I'm guessing some would disagree...

Humans only breathe 17-21%  per breath. You might be on to something.

I was attempting a bit of humor with my usual smart ass style.

But the group think marginalization or criticism (depending on the perspective) can be so tedious. Often it seems, opinion of the lay person, merits the same scale as an expert.  So much so that we no longer seem to believe in experts. I am not sure how much of that cynicism is warranted and how much is malicious manipulation. There are some on this forum and elsewhere attempting to discredit the holocaust. Some, not necessarily on this forum want to argue the shape of our planet.

I want you all to get off my lawn.

I'm crave intelligent discorse. I enjoy your "smart ass" humor. I have a 'dry' sense of humor, if that helps? I respect expert opinions. If I have questions or disagree; then I research the subject matter. The holocaust happened. My grandfather helped liberate prisoners at Dachau concentration camp.

I enjoyed the retort. :)  Let's be honest, if you come to this site for validation you need help you can't get here.  This is the internet so we are 6 posts from someone invoking Hitler and 3 from invoking groupthink.   My main point was I like the opportunity disagreement provides to rexamine your position.  It also allows you to see how wacky some people are.  With that I'll stop yammering and conserve oxygen because so many of you clearly need it to think straight.  I include myself in that group.  ;)

Part of the trouble with experts is that many of them are expert in one area but propound solely in other areas.

Too many experts are also advocates, paid and unpaid.  If the topic is something that has been politicized, the opinions of experts should not be taken at face value.

Statistics are easily manipulated.  Facts can be omitted, played down, amplified, embellished, or simply made up.  Being an expert does not mean a person is above reproach when it comes to this, quite the opposite.

Can I get my parking validated here? I'm in town for the 'Hitler Groupthink Conference.'

What do those people/cults who think you can live on sunshine and breathing only do in winter time when there is not as much sunshine or more cloudy days? Do they travel to the opposite hemisphere? Do they buy suntanning beds? Do they hibernate like bears?

Good question.  I suspect they have enough trouble during sunny summer months.

We can see how Islam is incompatible with democracy, but are the people, themselves, kept as children who crave doing what is normally forbidden?  What a horror it must be to live in one of their heads.
Many of us, in order to be better human beings, try to have insight into our motivations.  We value science and logic.  We try to exercise self-control.  Democracies require this.  Any religion that stresses strict obedience will keep their population as children, ready to party it up once daddy's out the door.

These people are such aliens to us.  Are we sure they belong here?

Zeebo? Are you a part of these terrorists? (I laughingly, not so much laughing now, a New Years prediction show on C2C with Ian when a caller predicted "small rodents are going to start attacking people.")

Ha nope I assure you, I'm a lover not a fighter.  However I do actually remember that call though!  Keep an eye out for any unruly gatherings of small subversive mammals.

His wife nagging him about his "three spoons with burn marks and a white and brown residue on them, filters for a syringe, three syringes with trace amounts of liquid in them, two baggies with trace amounts of a white, powdery substance, a broken glass pipe with brown residue, a plastic shower cap containing three grams of crack cocaine and a prescription bottle of Methadone"
