Aw, man.  Not Prince.  He was one of the few artists that I still followed.  I guess I have most of his music.  Now there will be no more.  :(   He really was one of my favorites growing up in the 80's.

Fuck.

What an odd place to die.  In a freaking elevator.

He's on an elevator to Heaven

When does the collective mourning of Prince end? We need to be trawling YT for vids for the next rock star to die before his three score years and ten.

Ideas? None of the Stones count. Or McCartney or Brian Wilson.

Shit.  He has not even been dead for a day.  Maybe after his funeral we can talk.

Well I wish they'd hurry up like they do in Israel and India.

Funny how 'flu' masquarades as heroin isn't it? Another one for the 'drugs are alright kids' .

Will this go down as self inflicted?

My personal favorite excuse for hangovers, over-doses, or relapses, by famous people is "exhaustion."

Me too.   I wanted to post the video to Raspberry Beret but all of the copies on the internet suck.

Yeah, Prince was maniacal about scouring the internet and eliminating videos and anything else he could get taken down.  Perhaps his heirs won't be as diligent.

Yeah. Always a good one..but opiates are usually referred to as pain killers, occasionally analgesics; but that crashes google as the fans look up what it means.

When Michael Jackson died, Ian had some pos on pretending to channel him just as soon as he had the chance.

Not every low point on Coast was hit by Noory.

I'll just paraphrase what I remember Bill Maher saying one night: I wouldn't advocate or recommend that anyone ever use heroin...but it hasn't hurt my record collection.  Ba dum tish!  :D

I was never a big Prince fan though I thought he had some good songs. Perhaps Kevin Smith could shed some light on the life that was Prince:

Princes last words were

"M-m-make them pay to watch my funeral"

I'm not a fan but he was a brilliant multi instrument musician, writer, producer, performer and businessman.

Anyone who can walk into Warners and ask for studio time to cut a disc and play every instrument, engineer and produce it deserves a bit slack.

Megyn Kelly is beating the drum on the OD story.  Fox viewers let out a collective sigh of relief that the Negro degenerate got what his ilk deserve.

Unfortunately, not being a star, I cannot use the "exhaustion" or "flu" excuses though and have to rely on the more pedestrian "jet-lag" or "allergies" excuse for hangovers (never had a need for the excuses for drugs.)

It's also apparently been a go-to excuse when someone has aids, since the 80s.

When Doves Cry didn't have a bass line. It was unique and innovative. At the peak of his career he was an impressive musician and a great guitar player. Top 40s acts with that kind of talent don't exist anymore.

He wasn't my cup of tea but the guy cut through a lot of race and gender bullshit, with a great deal of ease, and during a difficult era to do so.

I am so affected by Prince's death, I was going to come back on here just to link this video to you all,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBzx_3eOyZA

but then it turned out that Matt Drudge is such a classy pimp that he linked it on his own site. So now, I'm just linking it here just to say "I told you so."
