Yeah man, I've been saying this to my special forces friends for years- why the fuck don't they let you guys do your stuff in northern Mexico?

It all comes down to money, there are elements in our gov that benefit from the drug trade.

Yup. .same in Arizona

Yeah, I think that's largely why they were unarmed. I'm not suggesting the law should be changed, though. I don't think a bar full of juiced up drunks is the best place for concealed firearms.

Guns and alcohol are illegal in AZ...

The NSA and other three letter agencies are clearly there to restrain us, not to protect us.
Yeah. It is so blatantly obvious. If "they" in various agencies and offices really thought there was a risk or if they cared about us hoi polloi wouldn't the first logical thing to do in a war is to reinforce the border, double-check VISAs that have expired, and take a look at OPEN SOURCE, often self-posted, information from the supposed enemy? Even before invading some land one would do the basics of checking their rear-guard and situation at home.

Might not be a bad idea for all the bouncers to have guns though.

The murder and rape rates in some areas are worse than the ME but nobody seems to care. There are protest, auto-defensas, etc but so much corruption and, for whatever reason, unless it crosses the open-border (and even then often) it is not mentioned in our media. It is, frankly, bizarre. We bitch about human rights abuses half-way around the world- meanwhile a few miles away there are thousands of missing women, school children are buried in mass graves, people are beheaded or hung from bridges, journalists are murdered and tortured???!

Under certain conditions and if certain requirements are met, yes. Absolutely.

Yes, I wouldn't want one armed that has a felony record.

Sure but, then again, I might. Especially since they might be quicker to act having, maybe, committed violence before but also because there are so many laws on the books that I would try to find out what the actual crime was etc and if they guy deserved another shot, no pun intended, at getting a job instead of being black-listed due to some conviction.

I could not agree more. I am quite personally familiar with Mexican corruption, brutality, and basic inhumanity- which is why my Mexican family raised me with a respect for the laws and customs of the U.S.- and a strong belief that all immigrants from that god-forsaken hellhole should be legally vetted. Hell man, when my dad would take us kids into Mexico he always would say "Watch out, this country's full of Mexicans!" Heh. (He really would say that). I wish all their illegal immigrants would go back to where I came from.

Yeah, alright. I'm not doing anything right now, anyway. How long do you think it'll take because I do have appointments tomorrow...and I still haven't got my fucking vegetable garden in yet!   >:(  :D
