Either C2C with George Noory or MITD w/no Art Bell?

Echo

So what your saying is, Monday night will be like listening to the best of "George Noory".

Probably u7, Late Night in the Midlands, or whatever BS I find to occupy myself late at night.

Re: Who's tuning in for Dead Air on Monday night?

I will be listening into "World Café" on it's regularly scheduled time slot on my local PBS station come hell or high water.

As usual, I will think it is lame and pretentious but a small price to play for free commercial-free beg-session free muzak approved by Politically Korrect masses.

Not Sure we are taliking about the same thing hear...

Nah, listening to a "Best of Jorch" is a nightly quest...

Not that tomorrow will be better, but you hope it will be.

Perhaps Echo-Chamberlain should undertake this task, whilst emptying Jorch 'n Tommee's bedpans?  Ah the joys of national health-care!

United Queendomers, amirite?

All I know is, all attempts to get past the "jump" to "Read More" about tonight's guest crash my browser.

I was premature with "all attempts" above.  Deleting the HEAD info didn't make it renderable, whether or not scripts were kept.  However, deleting only the scripts while keeping the header produced:

Not sure whether that last line indicates a previous interview, or that tonight's is a rerun of that program.

I will listen to mitd to give heather a chance. If i hear dark matter news, that segment with the bad computer voice, i will go directly to paypal and cancel my subscription immediately.
Heather is in a tough spot and deserves a fair shot but the thought that any of my 5 dollars a month goes to whomever programs that computerized voice machine is something I just wont be able to do. I lived with it because I got art before and after it but it still destroyed every show it was featured in.

The best show of this entire run was the one show dark matter news didnt appear in, just for the reason it was not there to poison it.

I think a newcomer like Heather can make it in time, but you make it first...........then you charge a fee to people who want to hear it. She is set up to fail doing this the other way. Who in this day and age would pay 5 dollars a month to listen to someone learn to be a radio host? Just people who are hoping art will be back.

Somehow this month needs to be available for podcasting free somehow so people can download and listen and give her a chance. Some kind of deal should be worked out to give her exposure if they want to succeed.

But if they actually wanted to succeed and get past this, would they really put the future of the show and the entire network in the hands of someone with no experience? I dont think so, the best person they have or could find would filling that spot in the hopes it lasts. Instead they appear to just be letting her finish out the string for them.

So i wish her luck and will listen, until the news segment comes on at which point i will unsubscribe immediately.

This is a great point. Heather is totally being set up to fail. Shes got talent but asking her to carry the entire network in thirty days replacing the best radio broadcaster on the planet? I can't even imagine what she is dealing with. I really think they need to change the show so she wont be in Art's shadow and has the chance to do her own thing. We paid to listen to Art and no one else, there are tons of podcasters with talent that are free. As long as its still MITD it doesn't matter whose in that spot they're going to fail.

Heather is really the one who is hurt most by Art leaving, I really wish her the best.

If there is any chance to save the show I think they need to bring him a rotating schedule of hosts, some with their own audiences/chops to bring in listeners, make the podcast free, for a time, on iTunes, YouTube, etc and really get some known/prominent guests and also try to ride the tail (like every possible item/show under the sun) of the new Star Wars in some capacity. I don't blame Heather or Keith because now left in chaos and I don't know how much staff the show really had so people trying to handle everything.

Cydonia195

I'll be listening to Heather tonight and will for sure try to call in.  Heather deserves for us to support her.  All of the hard work she did for Art should be enough for us to give her a chance.

Echo

People subscribed for Art Bell, without Art being the host, the show will not be the same. After hearing Heather talking to the caller who said his family died in a fire, that alone shows me Heather not ready for prime time all.

Caller: my family died in a fire while i was at work
Heather: if you could time travel, you would go back and save them

No, he would go back in time to put the ben & jerry ice cream he left out on the  counter in the freezer
