Doctor in the House is another very funny BBC series - it is an older show but was really good.

Will do.  8)  Cheers man!  Gonna watch a Carson rerun.  Pens disappointed me tonight.  LOL!
Oh?  Are you puppy sitting for Ms. C, tonight? :D

I like (Redacted), at least as much as you can like text on a screen, or a voice over a wire. Yeah Wade got a raw deal all the way around without a doubt. However, it isn't the groups fault she got such a shitty deal. All that is laid at the feet of management, and Arts way of dealing with the situation. Furthermore Heather did herself no favors the way she handled "her public" and apparently in private with some BellGab members, once she was bequeathed the big chair. Shes a big girl and she made those choices. And all of us can "rattle cages" as we see fit.

On a side-note, Art reduced to doing liners on his show... Just reeks of his unending manipulation of the rubes and sycophants. Trying keep subscribers/listeners hanging on in hopes of his return. Carrot dangling... but he has nothing to do with she show anymoar. Oh wait... the liners, and Facebook post.

Reckon I'll hafta' sniff Heathers panties, until Art throws us a crumb.  ::)
Otherwise I'm a hater, or part of the groupthink with the rest of the sheepeople.

SNIFF... UMM... smells like weak sauce, bro. Getting riper every day!

Instead of Vicar of Dibley and Waiting for God I see Are You Being Served? and Doc Martin.....also As Time Goes By.
Yeah.  I enjoyed Waiting for God, the Prime Minister shows, and initially Father Ted.

Dude...I much prefer old BritComs more than anything on TV now.  Even though I've seen many repeats.  I think I watch 3 shows on major networks and that's it.

It was a happier time.

I think that you are referring to the aptly named One Foot in the Grave with Richard Wilson. I loved Wilson in the BBC drama, Merlin. The IT Crowd has to be the funniest Britcoms along with Fawlty Towers. Father Ted was also very good.

YES!!!!  Oh my dear....THANK YOU!!  It has given me mental itch for some time.  Now I'm cured!

Keith has the worst reputation in the business. Even Art has had to yank his chain numerous times.

I prefer Heather to Amy, I don't even know who Amy is other than she posted in our thread. Nothing against her, I just never heard of her and would never cheat on HEather my Feather.

Amy was someone who worked behind the scenes on Arts show?

what you say is ...true..but Amy is also engaging her audience...right at the beginning...but really we should probably not compare one to the other cause it isn't fair to either and the situations are...different
I feel Amy is a heck of a lot more charming, frankly.

I postulate that if Heather had been let go when Art quit, like Amy was and started her own show like Amy did, the reception would have been just a warm for her as it has been for Amy. I like Amy, I support Amy, but she made some mistakes and had some fumbles. Nobody started flaming her. They realize she is new and it seems like everyone is giving her a chance.

That's not how it went for Heather. Because she was sitting in "Art's" chair, doing "Art's" show, the criticism started on day one.
Well, there was that whole thing about HW being complicit in a lie. She and Bell took the audience for fools. She was an actress in a sham. And she has acted her part badly.

(Amy has done none of those things.)

If you don't accept that it was a lie or a sham, then goofily concocted story at best.

And about Heather... I used to have nothing against her as a person and just thought she was not suited for the job and that it was all doomed from the start.
After some time I am starting to think she is really just a selfish person. When the whole network falls apart around you, you would think she would realize that it is about time to step down and give someone else the chance to save the show. If she has any brain at all she knows very well that the ship is sinking, but yet she has decided to cling onto it until there is nothing left..

Color corrected, per my fans' request at the most recent meeting. :)

Is she self-employed?  If not, it's not her position to step down & give someone else a chance.  She could quit, sure, but it's not like it's her say-so that they keep employing her rather than anyone else.

Hog

She shouldnt quit, if someone is willing to give her a decent paycheque for her efforts, why would she quit?  I wouldnt quit just because some nameless people on a a site like this said I should.  People are obviously listening, and more importantly PAYING.

I keep watching Doc Martin and then afterward think about the episode and have to conclude that there's really not much to them. Quirky characters in a sleepy town where not much ever happens. I suppose I watch it for the one trick pony it is: watching the obviously Asperger's Syndrome afflicted Doc struggle to try to be human. He's good at capturing the essence of that character and so I hypnotically keep watching but it's a guilty pleasure that definitely makes me feel a bit fuddy duddy watching it. I mean, what's next? Murder, She Wrote?!  ::)  :P

Yes. Great show but isn't that an Aussie production? And it, like some others, got a bit too politically-correct and a bit stale towards the later episodes. Still better than most things on our tv for sure. Really liked it. And she was....nice.

trostol

lol so i am binge watching Silicon Valley...and one of them is a satanist which is kind of funny..but more so..in this episode..his girlfriend goes.."We don't like sacrifice goats or anything. We're not like the Order of the Golden Dawners, you know."

All this talk about British sitcoms makes me wonder whether you really put a man on the moon after all. You seem to be addicted to the cheesiest shit imaginable. Anyone who finds 'Keeping up Appearances' (and 'Last of the Summer Wine') tolerable should be placed under immediate restraint in case they turn violent. I'd rather confess to a preference for bestiality than 'Are You Being Served'. I don't think I'd even give 'As Time Goes By' fans the option of medical incarceration - it's straight firing squad. There was an appalling female from Liverpool who used to write terrible sitcoms like 'Butterflies' and 'Bread'; her name was  Carla Lane. You idiots would probably like that too, although you might struggle with the Scouse accents in the second one. 'Yes, Minister' was interesting in the way it highlighted the political process, but it wasn't all that funny. The only reason anybody watches 'The Good Life' is to rub their trousers at the thought of Felicity Kendal. All of this stuff is brain-rotting piffle, it's not funny at all.

Genuine British comedy is dark and disturbing, like 'Steptoe and Son', where you can see the  characters teetering on the verge of suicide. 'Fawlty Towers' is another one. If you've never heard of 'Ever Decreasing Circles' you might enjoy that one, because it's not too dark, but it's a bit odd at the same time. It has Richard Briers in it as a typical suburban busybody jealous of his more worldly neighbour. It's not brilliant, but it's a bit better than the ordure everybody's talking about here.
