You need to check out one of the 12 step programs dude. Seriously.

You mean this place isn't a 12 step program?

Are you still on hold right now?

You've been "on hold" for literally over an hour now. I've got bad news for you...

It was worth it. Heather's reaction to my question was awesome, AND I got to pimp Planetary!

No one heard the call, Juan. Art has always held that there were two types of haters of Heather's MITD: Those that wouldn't like anyone but Art hosting the show and misogynists who can't accept an intelligent woman in the seat, as if Heather fits that description. How does he explain the positive reaction to Amy On The Radio, with actual informed discussion taking place and, god forbid, entertainment from those that continually bash MITD? Once Art faces reality, his little world will collapse and DMDN with it.

I postulate that if Heather had been let go when Art quit, like Amy was and started her own show like Amy did, the reception would have been just a warm for her as it has been for Amy. I like Amy, I support Amy, but she made some mistakes and had some fumbles. Nobody started flaming her. They realize she is new and it seems like everyone is giving her a chance.

That's not how it went for Heather. Because she was sitting in "Art's" chair, doing "Art's" show, the criticism started on day one.

Keep up the group think. No matter how hard you wish, there will never be an Art Bell replacement good enough for this esteemed listening audience.

Try one of those Group Conciousness experiments. Maybe you can cure Art's COPD and give his colitis to the Stalker.

p.s. While you are doing the Group Conciousness experiment, get Keith to cut the show back to 3 hours. I don't like the 5 hour format, no matter who is hosting.

what you say is ...true..but Amy is also engaging her audience...right at the beginning...but really we should probably not compare one to the other cause it isn't fair to either and the situations are...different

She should have made the show her own from the get go, dropped all of Arts music, references etc, but when you have keith running that stupid ad about Art coming back, tends to reinforce that its not Heather's show.

No argument there from me. Keith writes the checks, and he is the one that gets the subscription money, so he must figure this business model is working for him. I sent him an email again the other day. Never got a response.

Salient points from Gravity Sucks, norland, and trostol.  8)  I'd add pearls of wisdom, but am too damn lazy.  Plus, the Lawrence Welk Show along with the BritComs wore me out.  Gotta catch an old Carson rerun soon.  My weekends can be hectic.  Cheers all!  :D

Dude...I much prefer old BritComs more than anything on TV now.  Even though I've seen many repeats.  I think I watch 3 shows on major networks and that's it.

Lord Grantham

"As Time Goes By" has to be the most boring show ever made. But oddly, its watchable in a so bad its good kind of way.

Instead of Vicar of Dibley and Waiting for God I see Are You Being Served? and Doc Martin.....also As Time Goes By.

I agree.  The jet setting guy...Alistair (?) seemed so cartoonish.   I still watched it on many occasion.

Not famiiliar with the last two.  Loved Goode Neighbors and Waiting For God.  2 point 4 Children as well.

Maybe you can help me.  Do you recall a show where it featured an older couple where the husband was just a crotchety, cynical man?  It ended tragically where he died.  Shocking end to the series actually.

I think that you are referring to the aptly named One Foot in the Grave with Richard Wilson. I loved Wilson in the BBC drama, Merlin. The IT Crowd has to be the funniest Britcoms along with Fawlty Towers. Father Ted was also very good.

Miranda is also very funny and quirky. I binge watched it last year and could not stop laughing.

My Family was good the first few seasons til the eldest son left the show

this is a solid list of things to try out
