SciFi, I've just been there! I had a shot glass of Maker's Mark, and it didn't work. Next idea is to add it to a fizzy drink to maybe shock the system.

Hi K_Dubb and Nancy. Nancy, I washed everything out with a neti pot and have been taking a few pulls off the bottle to numb the symptoms. It's working for me, I should sleep well at least. No dubious though, that doesn't help with colds.

As a water creature, you know, use distilled water from a good source and have pot cleansed.

Oh I do, I'm paranoid about that. Neti pots work well for me, but given that I don't want to get a brain eating amoeba, I buy distilled water and boil it.

Hi SFA, you should be drinking health-giving chaga tea like me.  I had to wash it down with scotch to get rid of the taste, though.

I get that he is recognizing the animal as a living being before slaughter...along with all the pathogens, etc.

If the meat is cooked you don't get that stuff.  Even with his theory that it changes your blood there's no need to worry.  After cooking...the cells are killed.  Be concerned if you eat rare or raw.
