Well, if the money is flowing, might as well take advantage. But yeah, Lena Dunham is a useless human being.

I agree. *sigh*

Hello everybody!  :D  Hope all is well.  ;)

I notice there is talk of the show Lost in the thread.  I smite that with discontent.  The show of course....not the discussion.  ;)

Aside from that....

CHEERS!  8)

And the kicker is, Lost is based, albeit very indirectly, on a real-world event: the loss of Engine 115 in a sink hole in Lindal, England on Sept. 22, 1892.

Uh, I'm pretty sure LOST is based on this...

The most blatant clue they gave was the season 2 promo:

THEY'RE NOT THE SURVIVORS
THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE

Also listen to the lyrics to "You All, Everybody".  Especially listen to the slight modification Hugo makes to them in the record store as he rolls his eyes.

Only to the extent that that's a bastardiz'n of A.C. Doyle's The Lost World, which was still a smaller influence than his "The Lost Special".

Overall, Lost is a version of Hamlet, but in greater detail it's a version of "One of Our Aircraft is Empty" with influence from some other Department S episode.

Robert

That's got to be a lie about getting 100% of the energy back, unless he's counting waste heat.

This is a damn good show.Fuel cells seem much better than electric technology for many uses.HELLOO!!!!!!!!! Most comments here seem unaware of this show!

Have you looked at his site? I am very intrigued by many facets of fuel cells. This show is highlighting the state of the art. This guest is no dummy to say the least.

Robert

Another hint as you rewatch Lost: doubt everything that looks sci-fi or fantasy.  Is that really tie travel?  Are those dates what they appear to be?  Notice an ostensible side effect of (Dan) Faraday's invention: brain damage.  What if that's its only effect?  (Hint: it is.)

How much do you own?

But seriously, I have been trying to follow this field for some time.  It's not like his is the last word.

It is a good show about a good subject.

I am honestly listening to it, but I've given up on this forum doing so. I didn't start going on and on about Lost on purpose.

This time.

Robert

The difference between Ms. Wade & Mr. Bell is that Mr. Bell isn't a shill.  Except for the paid ads, of course.

I may have to call in later about the idea of covering roads and parking lots with solar cells.
I am sure there are many obvious reasons such as durability but I would like to know what he says. So I hope you call its a good question.

Robert

The technology's not trivial, I'm not saying it is.  But all it is is a solution to the energy storage from solar collection, plus somewhat more efficient collection.  Not really a great topic for audio-only present'n.  Calls for a slide show or the equivalent.

Why would this guest have anything other than an opinion about solar roadways?  Why not ask a question related to what he is involved in?

Too much wear. Better to just use additives to raise their albedo. Make them lighter to reflect heat back into space.

You have got to be kidding me.You think HW has a financial interest in the fuel cell company.Did you not take your Haldol tonight.Fuel cells and personal control of your energy is going to revolutionize energy like the internet revolutionized commerce. If you dont get that you need help.

I heard this guy for the first time on C2C back in the summer.  And yes...this is a good guest and a great topic.

@ superfan....a lot of times these threads vear from the topic.  People (I think/hope) still listen.  ;)

Maybe I missed something -- is the speaker on that bandwagon?  That one's so goofy you don't even need the economic analysis to put down.  (And I've seen the pro- & anti- videos.)  It's one of the unlikeliest technology combinations I could imagine.  It's like a radio is great, a hammer is great, why not combine them into a hammer-radio?

No, sorry if I implied that.  But she does appear to be trading enthusiasm from the guest for complimentary remarks.  That form of shilling's not uncommon.  The thing is, they don't realize you can get the good guests, and get enthusiastic present's from them, even with a thoroughly neutral interview.

GravitySucks

I love Boom Boom Ba, Metisse and the show that used this for a theme song. Dead Like Me.

Robert

Then again, it could be that Ms. Wade is picking guests based on her own enthusiasm about their bag, rather than her curiosity about it.  Even if she is sold on what he's selling, she should try not to show it.
