Missed the gabcast. Did Art mention why he handed over the show to a rank amateur when there were plenty of more experienced people he could have given the show to?

Nothing beyond the usual "she was my first choice, she's doing outstanding beep boop" line.

He said having a 'female voice' that was knowledgeable on the subject was interesting, that she was getting better by the minute, and could "pronounce words." No real talk on why she was his first pick.

What "experienced" people would be available and would want to suddenly take over hosting duties at MITD where they would be working under the contract of "fill in until Art comes back, it could be two weeks or six months"?

Successful and experienced people wouldn't want to or be available for that type of work.

ok, won't bother to listen, that's what I thought would happen, nothing of interest

It was okay. A lot of things Art said completely contradicted what others have said and he came off as plain delusion or slimey at times but it was good for what it was supposed to be which is a time capsule of this time in the Art Bell universe.

I didn't mean professionals with well-paying jobs, I meant people who've done some podcasting or such work before, like some of the people already on the DMDN, or other sites. Some of them might have been up for it. Instead of a rank amateur whose only experience was doing the gabcast.

If Heather looked like Falkie in a wig, I wonder if she would have been Art's first choice?

thanks  i just muted MITD  to listen to this cut again
its sad we have lost  a lot of talent already this year

Maurice was 74        Art is 70  and going strong         we need to keep our perspective about what we say

DON'T YOU DARE to reduce Heather's death hopes to satrie !!!

As I already said: " it is OK to make fun, to tell jokes, to critique, even do funny-gross drawings of other people, other radio hosts , "

but hoping for death, for heart attack is much more serious than silly satire , don't try to
minimize that brutal attitude Heather has deep inside her.

Heather W. is a wolf in sheep skin , she has very dark side to her ,very dark !!
No gentle, loving ,normal person would go to that extend of hate like Heather did, not only
in one case but in two cases, [two radio hosts], there is more of her vile - horrid attitudes
she expressed , but this is the worst of brutal, vicious, savage, attitude she expressed.

So don't you even try to protect her, ... with your silly comment.

You see,..."those who support and protect Evil are part of the Evil.
But one day The Almighty GOD will eliminate all the Evil from this planet Earth."

Yeah, and you would suddenly like MITD?

Honestly, everyone sounded like a rank amateur on DMDN.  They all sucked except Art.

Secondly, I am almost sure that their show was a hobby and not a job.  Once again, given the amount of time needed to put into hosting a show where it is very much a full time job, at odd hours, who would have done it?

I guess my overriding point is this a very odd situation and not too many people, if anyone could suddenly drop their lives to take on the mantle of host of MITD.

I am not defending Heather, or Art, but the expectations are a bit high for what could happen in this situation.

Honestly I wish Art had all his old classic shows, and just play those on MITD, until his return, but he doesn't own those recordings.

It seems as if a prerequisite for someone filling in for Art was that they were already running a live show on the network, which is why names like Howard Hughes and Michael Vara were suggested because they had been pursued as potential lead in hosts in the slot before MITD. Neither worked out, so Heather was the network's fallback option.

Well, that kind of shoots the " it comes in three's " theory out of the water.  :(

Pretty much all the other DMDN hosts I've heard would have been better than Heather. And it's kind of an insult when a few of them have so much experience in the show topics. Hell, RCH would have been a better choice at her time slot.
