Midnight In The Desert

Would so love to see Heather go Joe Pyne on this guy.  Totally discredit him, pick him up by his pant loops and toss him out though the swinging saloon doors.  It would certainly take the show into a new direction and would catch on with the public, too.  The batshit crazies would be flocking to be on the show, just for the exposure alone.  That's the way it was with Joe's show.

if that was the real reason, than that was a very-VERY cowardly of Heather,
she said before that she has a  "balls of steel"  ,I guess they melted.....

Truth is Heather took the night off to kick back and enjoy a few cold ones and enjoy that incredibly entertaining episode of the 'X-Files' that aired last night. She deserves a night off don't you think?

For all the critics of Heather's show out there it's amazing how concerned you are that Heather took the night off. Ya think maybe you should quit torturing yourselves and find something else to listen to? Just sayin'.

God I'd love to hear that.  I'd also love to hear the President speak out against mass government surveillance of our own citizens, Congress and the Senate reject the Trans-Pacific Partnership as the treasonous corporate power grab that it is, and hear Lockheed Martin reveal the field propulsion and free energy technologies they've got sequestered behind an impervious wall of secrecy.  But I think there's an equal chance of any of those things happening.

"Rods" are just time-lapsed images of bugs (or even birds in some cases).  When the shutter speed is fast enough you can see them clearly:

"Orbs" are just small particles/objects/bugs in the air that are out of focus, and usually brightly illuminated by a camera flash:

My avatar is an animation based on 12 Monkeys - one of my all-time favorite time travel movies.
Okay. Thanks for the links and explanation.
I loved 12 Monkeys also.

No sweat.  You might enjoy the 12 Monkeys tv series on SyFy - it's campier and much less brilliantly gritty/sophisticated than the Gilliam movie, but it has a fun charm and lots of those time-travel twists and turns that are so much fun to think about.

Ever heard of a "three-day weekend"?

Element 115

Seriously, the subject is rods tonight? Once super high speed cameras came along, rods were debunked as being birds, flies, and other flying insects.

Clearly she was trapped in a Groundhog Day time loop yesterday, so we expect a well crafted show tonight.  She had a chance yesterday while trapped in the time-loop to rehearse it.  Expect awesomeness tonight!

Yeah VCR garbage at 30 to 60 fps max. Of course it will look like a "rod" at that frame rate. Ugh. These new ultra fast cameras, you'll never see a "rod". Also, the rods of the past were all notoriously out of focus/foreground objects. Unreal that this is still talked about.

Guaranteed he's not using a Phantom. Get the same footage with a Phantom @ 73k fps and you'll see what the "rod" really is.

I predict a short interview then lots of open lines. The rod subject would be a hard thing to cover for 3 hours

All of this rod talk is making me feel tingly.  Is this wrong?

I heard she spent the night randomly calling acquaintances to offer them the hosting gig.  You know, to rattle their cages, shits and giggles, and so on.

If they wanted to make it work they should've had a rotating schedule of hosts, including Art. And even including other hosts that run their own podcasts/radio-shows on the 'non-mainstream,' which likely have various non-competes. A two-fer. Fresh hosts and guests, downtime for family etc, other hosts allowed to promo their stuff, and more variety/method of interviewing guests. But, whatever.

The nicest thing I can say about Jose Escamillo is that he has almost as much integrity and credibility as Michael Horn.

so it came to,..better to have a shitty guest without  integrity and credibility then no guest at all,
..(like last night no guest) ?

Is the guest pool drying up?  Not to be critical, but these 3rd rate guests are going to chase away the remaining listeners.  Still waiting for my requests from the scientific community; CDC communicable disease specialist, Oceanic scientist, alternative energy...

seems as such..and i am not sure she is comfy with the overly scientific types...but really even when Art was on the scientific guests were few and far between
