Castaneda? Nah, he was from south of the border in Peru. He's a nut, but really can't talk about Toltemic shamanism without bringing him into the discussion.

I'd rather hear from an actual Native American shaman, as opposed to a gringo wannabe.

I believe that Spinal Tap is a real band more than I believe this goob is a real shaman.

Heather is right about that. " ...You won't hear this anywhere else..."

Tumbleweeds in this thread tonight  ::)

Seriously, though. Art has to have a Rolodex full of Native American shamans/medicine men...or at least some gringos whose research into shamanism is more legit than Leader.

The show won't load/play for me tonight.

The master made another appearance today. Thoughts are elsewhere.

As a guy that lived for a while on a Navajo reservation I will say that the medicine men/ shamans are a bunch of crap.

There are, but come on, try getting them on. The legit ones are too busy teaching, out in the field, or researching to mess with some paranormal host who isn't interested and won't do some cursory reading on their subject field.

Well, that explains why they don't speak to Dave.

This guest started out tonight with the whole "rocks have feelings" cliche...now he's talking about the reading of stones...almost an hour in with a "shaman" and we're discussing rocks...maybe we'll talk about the "my pet rock" craze, it was before my time but some guy made millions selling a rock marketed as a pet...genius

Pine Hill New Mexico. I went to a pow wow. The thing I remember was that my heart started to beat in unison with the drums. It was weird and kinda put you in a state of complete ease. As for the medicine men, nah they were just old people that burnt different herbs and chanted, never felt anything with them.

I've found the more fascinating shows are the ones I fall to sleep easier too? ⁉️

Alcoholism and corruption are my biggest memories of the reservation. I would never go back and my experience there left me with little respect for their culture.

Right, that's why you get ahold of them way in advance to be on show...call them and set a time date when not in the field, teaching, or busy. Put the "shamen" show in the the back burner until it's legit or end up with amateur hour like tonight

Yeah but wasn't their "culture" essential decimated by invading colonists? Isn't it the remains of that process that you're really judging?  ???

So if you dont listen why waste time here? Just to criticize for hours on end?
Go outside and do something analog, dont waste the time you have on this earth criticizing something you dislike.
Think about it, perhaps you should take a look in the mirror and figure out why you waste so much time belittling a show you dislike.
I dont know you, but i assure you most sane people dont listen to things they dont like and surely dont spend hours on a forum trashing it, and even worse if you spend time trashing a show you dont listen to.

You're the guy who ran the porn site and knows Heather Wade's family, right?
