what if its...Art is gonna do weekends?
Weekends wont cut it.. If they are going to have any chance of getting at least some of those affiliates back it is gotta be some of the weekdays at the same times.

You haven't exactly hopped in a lifeboat and took off. You just keep listening and doing whatever you possibly can to be a dickhead. It must get tiring.
You. You and a few others I've missed.

Donald Noory . . . not so much . . . .

I am part of the Railroad.  Our mission is too free the fanatical Art Bell slaves.

And I see a lot of synths waiting to be freed.

I don't even think I'd drink it if it was free.  I value my life, sort of.

Do you drink it?  What the hell form does that crap come in?

The state of ufology a la Greer, a la Dolan, a la last night's guest: I know person 'S', 'S' is an insider, here's 'S's information; therefore...therefore, what exactly?  Therefore, ufo's are real?  More generally, therefore, the ontological statements these people make -- that is, great sweeping ontological statements, are real.  Nowhere in human history has there been a more decrepit field of study that pertains to the nature of reality than the current state of some of the major flunkies in UFOlogy.  Last night's guest was perhaps some subset version of such idiocy, made for the ignorant who believe any cock and bull story.  It's as if anyone could call themselves a doctor.

It started out with a hopeful note, re: the "secret space program."  It seems unthinkable that the US, which spends more money on defense than the next ten top defense-spending nations on the planet, would not have the capability of reaching space.  Space is the ultimate “high ground,” and a pivotal component to all modern national defense capabilities.

But beyond that basic and inescapable logic, we have at least two compelling reasons to conclude that our military has a substantial secret spaceflight program.  Last night’s guest discussed the first reason at the opening of the show â€" Ronald Reagan’s presidential diary:

“The entry for Tuesday, June 11, 1985 (page 334) reads:

‘Lunch with 5 top space scientists.

It was fascinating. Space truly is the last frontier and some of the developments there in astronomy etc. are like science fiction, except they are real. I learned that our shuttle capacity is such that we could orbit 300 people.’”
http://www.nationalufocenter.com/artman/publish/article_487.php

And then we also have the testimony of Gary McKinnon, who definitely breached US defense, NASA, and US Space Command computer systems, and reported that he saw lists of ship-to-ship transfers in a document with the heading “non-terrestrial officers” with ship names that aren’t on the Navy’s fleet inventory.

I couldn’t follow much of the interview because the guest’s voice put me into some kind of vacant hypnotic state, but intriguing tidbits of info like that are really interesting.

Oh finally a smart guest that questions her blind faith in human caused global warming.

The climate variabilty he documents brings so much asspain to the climate hysteria devout it's great. The real danger looms and we spend fuckall addressing it.

I see you're keeping to your New Year's resolution of being the self-appointed pompous ass, douchebag thread policeman who will go down with the ship.
Times like this when I realize that Richard Hoagland is a much better person that you are . . . .

If I'm going to steep something shitty in tea and then have to drink it, it better let me see other dimensions.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are shutting it down. I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe Heather just finally had enough. This isn't what she signed up for.

My guess is that you are correct. Thirty days, so the timing is right, and it all fits. I wouldn't be expecting any kind of profound or revealing or meaningful speech about it either. It's sad, we had hoped for better, etc. etc.

I can believe that. I think that "phony" quality is just there and it becomes amplified by virtue of her efforts towards actng in this announcer role.
Reminds me of when my political friend John Chodes made a play I went to see, Frederick 2.  I very much liked the Levantine accent of the harem girl.  Afterward he introduced me to the player.  She was Greek, and that was her natural accent.  I said, "That's not acting, that's cheating!"

I am sure Art is directing her on what music bumper to play tonight.

She's "selling" it.  I don't blame her for doing that considering the position she's been put in.  And I don't mind, because as I've said, to me she sounds seductive.

Every m.c. sells the show a bit, she's just doing it more than you're used to.

Too many people expect Heather to be as polished as Art, who has like 50 or so years of radio experience.

he might not care about the affiliates
I think he very much cares.
If he did not care then he would not ask people to spread the word and call radio stations.
Also even during times he had become increasingly cranky on the shows he seemed to suddenly be more positive for a while whenever they got new affiliates.

I think he only acted at first like he did not care so that expectations would not be too high as it was very uncertain back then.
